location, room condition, cleanliness and safety

I wondered about how safe the room locks were/how solid. Missed one or two chairs in room. Extra bed was only needed for one night but was not removed for rest of stay. View could have been better. I wondered if room AC truly worked; I don't believe I was controlling room heating. I was a pain to get to the safety box-it was too low and "buried".

The photos match the reality, which is very rare on Booking. Very elegant and tidy, the room has enough space to sleep and work a bit if needed, nice bathroom.

Had to contact a WhatsApp number, got asked to go look for my booking number, then another confirmation, only to get told that I had to fill in an online form for the self check-in - which was the EXACT same thing I had already received by email. It's a waste of people's time (your employees and, above all, mine).

Location - super central. Contactless check-in, with clear instructions. Great value for money given Madrid hotel prices, especially in city center, walking distance from all major attractions. Comfortable bed, AC, clean, basic facilities, couldn't expect more for the price. Hair dryer, soap, towels, small closet. Kettle with camomile tea. Decent size room.

View on internal patio, a can get a bit loud at night. The silicones in the bathroom were a bit old and moldy.

The hostel is super high quality and super clean. We enjoyed the luxurious style. The receptionist was very helpful. The location was great close to everything. Great for those who aim to explore the city and come back to a clean place to sleep and Rest.

We stayed twice in this hostel because of how much we liked it. In our first stay the AC was very weak and stopped working. In our second stay the fridge in the room was not working and the AC was weak as well. Other than that it was good.

The location is really excellent as it is right at the city center. Everything was in walking distance and we were surrounded with shopping at eateries.

My only issue was that this place was advertised as a HOTEL and is a hostel. We had a very difficult time locating it because the signage was not in a logical place. I would never have picked to stay in a hostel. However, once we got inside the space, it was as if we were in a hotel although the entire space was very small. We also had to walk up stairs with our large bags of luggage as the lift only went so far.

The location was great, the halls and my room were very clean and inviting. My room was very large for a solo traveller. The staff were very friendly and helpful when I checked in.

It was difficult to find the main door to the hostel rooms. A gentleman in the lobby took me up to the 2nd floor where the access door was located, and luckily it was before 4pm so the 2 Stagg members were still there to assist with check in.

Great location, very clean, spacious and comfortable room, wonderful staff. Maria is an angel!!! She made our stay even more enjoyable 😊

A bit noisy at night

Excellent location nearby subway station red line 2 “Opera” extremely convenience walking distance for the most popular tourist attractions in city center Madrid. Keep in mind that is a very basic hotel,no amenities just delicious tea. Extremely CLEAN so amazing to me. It’s a very sophisticated doors systems just like at home. Staff only few hours a day so after all just texting them via whatsup any issue is solved.

Central location, just a minutes walk from Opera. Close to metro stops & a short walk to the main shopping area, Plaza Mayor, Sol & the Palace. Room was spotlessly clean & comfortable. Good shower. Despite there being bars on the road below surprisingly little noise for a Friday night in Madrid. Good communications & check in (via What's App).

N/A - all was good

Very close to Central Madrid, and walked for miles to see the wonderful stone masonry and beautiful settings of this city.

The lift only went up one floor as it is an old building, no problem if you're a man, but for an older person like myself with back and shoulder problems, getting my case upstairs was painful. However, the lovely receptionist carried it down for me.
