Desmond at reception was extremely nice and accommodating and helped me out significantly when I encountered an issue. He and the cleaning staff are extremely sweet people - well versed in customer service and clearly take great pride in their work. I do think the price of this hotel is fair. my room was comfortable and the location cannot be beat.

The original (single) room I was assigned did not have a window that would open. For health reasons, I have heat sensitivity, and with the air conditioning unit only in heat mode until May/ June, I had no way to cool the room down after a day of the outdoor temperature getting up to 20 to 21 degrees Celsius. Luckily, Desmond and the hotel manager understood my concern and switched me right away to a room where I was able to open the window.

It was a top location indeed. Close to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, everything. There was housekeeping every day and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were nice. Viktor in particular was very friendly.

Since I also visited Room select in Bilbao during the same trip and it was more than great there, I didn’t expect the room in Madrid to be so small and I didn’t expect to have one large bed with one duvet. Maybe the mistake was mine here as I didn’t book the right room, so I accept this. What I didn’t expect at all was the bathroom and the toilet thing. I absolutely did not expect these to be part of the room (and not a separate “room”). The toilet was way too small (and I am tall) , and my legs couldn’t fit there, and the door of the bathroom was a bit transparent. Both were not very convenient for non-couples. I had the trip with a female friend and was not comfortable at all with the toilet and bathroom. Otherwise, it was a really nice place.

Needed a simple room as a solo female for a few nights after a business trip - and Select Sol exceeded my expectations. I was initially worried as I walked up and down the sideroad (its fronted by a small cafe) but once through the door, I was delighted by the friendly and informative welcome from the reception desk staffer (who spoke excellent English) . My room was modern/industrial/funky but spotless, the double bed had good linen and was comfortable, the shower was enclosed in a separate cubicle from the toilet. Lighting was fine and there was good charging points for gadgets. There were nice little touches like two bottles of water, chocolates, a map, and a welcome note. Reception booked me a taxi to the airport, which worked seamlessly (even though the staff changed, they knew all about it when I checked.) Location is great - at the bottom of the pedestrian area of Puerta del Sol but just up a small lane so v quiet. I felt very safe and could walk everywhere I wanted - Prado, Palace. El Retiro park, etc. Security was good with a key code after hours and good locks on the bedroom door. A very cheap breakfast offer (coffee and a pastry) was available at the cafe counter. I would happily recommend to family and friends.

Can't think of anything. The price wasn't exactly budget (although it was reasonable) but I did book very last minute.

Good hotel in an excellent location, 1 min walk from Opera metro station and in the centre of the tourist area and bars/restaurants. Friendly staff. Clean and modern hotel. The room was good, on check-in I got told I had been upgraded to a superior room which was plenty spacious enough. Very comfortable bed. The cafe downstairs does excellent coffee.

It would be good if the rooms had a proper bathroom, rather than a separate toilet and shower that open directly into the bedroom, but I appreciate it would be difficult to change the structure! Room was a bit dark for putting on make-up. Would also be nice if hair conditioner was provided. These are minor complaints though - I had a good stay.

Staff are great, very helpful. They kept our bags both days since we arrived too early and our train left later the second day. The night woman recommended a local Spanish restaurant that was perfect. There is no kettle in the room but there is tea and coffee in the breakfast room available all day and night. Location is 500 meters from the Opera metro station which is a great location for exploring Plaza Mayor, Plaza del Sol and the Royal Palace. Room is small but very clean and comfortable.

We walked passed this hotel because the name on the street was different than their address. Google maps did take us to the correct street.

I like it a lot, I i ever come back to Madrid i will stay at this Hotel. Nice staff good location everything is near. You can walk around everywhere. Exceed my expectations

The only thing I didn't like was the shower, the water was only on the roof It didn't have the mixer you can hold and if you don't want to wash your hair you have to use shower cup but it's still difficult but ok I think it's not a big problem for me. I would come back again

I recently stayed at 7room Select Sol and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience! The hotel is in an ideal location, just a short walk from the main attractions(Palacio Réal de Madrid and Plaza Mayor) and with excellent public transport links(Métro Opéra and Sol). The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-furnished. The free Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout my stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible, also offering me the possibility to upgrade my room at no additional cost." In conclusion, I highly recommend room Select Sol to anyone visiting Madrid and if I were to return to Madrid, this hotel would be my first choice.

Excellent location, under 5 minutes walking to the Royal Palace and Puerta del Sol. 10 minutes to Plaza Mayor. Quiet room. Sorina and the staff were very friendly and professional. Coffee shop at the reception. I highly recommend it for the location. The fact that it’s so quiet at night it’s a big plus.

It was good for a short stay. Maybe not so suitable for long term or people with kids, due to the size of the room. Not so obvious it’s a hotel there when you are coming for the first time. I thought it’s a coffee shop, but really not a big problem.

very friendly staff, good location, close to plaza Mayor en Puerta del Sol and Opera metro station, you can buy a coffee and a pastry from the coffee shop downstairs for 5 euro (buy through reception not directly at the coffee shop), WiFi works well, they kept my luggage for a few hours after check-out

the economy room is ok for 1 person but a bit too small for 2 persons (toilet is too small to close the door while in use :-)), the shower looks like a rain shower but not so much water comes out

The staff was outstanding… helpful in every way.

How do I describe the room… a square room with a box inside that room… divided in half… one side for the toilet, one side for the shower. An excellent choice if traveling alone… but beware that the bathroom door won’t close completely because your knees won’t fit… so if you’re sharing with someone else… toss away any privacy issues you may have. Hangers , at the foot of the bed… you can’t remove… so hanging up clothing becomes a chore!
