We arrived at the hotel at 2pm for check in. Very polite and efficient lady advised that we had been upgraded to a superior double room. The room size was excellent with an En-Suite bathroom, mini fridge, air conditioning and large TV. Please do not be put off by the 1* rating of this hotel. It is very clean, staff are helpful and the location is 2nd to none, with a lot of the tourist attractions being within a 5 minute stroll, not to mention all of the bars and restaurants you could possibly want.

I am not sure I would have changed anything about this hotel. Reception is only available from 14:00 to 22:00 but this did not affect our stay in the slightest.

I had a great stay! The room was spacious with a large window facing the street, which I really enjoyed. The location is excellent, and the check-in process was smooth with a warm and welcoming staff. The only downside was that the showerhead holder was installed in an uncomfortable position, which made showering a bit awkward—but the water pressure and temperature were great. Overall, a very good experience and great value for money. I would definitely recommend!

The location was great, I was able to get around in Madrid on foot. The main square Plaza de Mayor was very close, so it made my stay very convenient as I was able to walk just 5 mins to get dinner and enjoy the evening in this lively square. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, 5 stars to the staff. The room was cleaned thoroughly for the whole time I stayed. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great value for the money.

The sewage smell that comes from the toilet. I read about it in the comments before I booked though, so I knew it. Closing the door to the bathroom solved the issue. The bathrooms look a bit old but the rest of the room is modern and comfortable. Noise from other rooms can be heard easily (like doors being shut etc.) so I would recommend an earplug for the night.

The location : it is very near by to the Mercado San Miguel, love it, easy to reach in also, close by the Metro OPERA, and if you look for the taxi also it is very easy. The cleanliness are superb. The staff also are very friendly and nice and helpful. Had a problem with the flush, then fixed it directly. Would love to stay there again for sure. Gracias !!!

Perhaps because I travel with my aunt, so she said at night it is a bit noisy at night , but for me still ok , don't mind with the noise.

Location, find the Food market & its 2 mins walk. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Decent size room. Nice view on to small busy plaza below. Room quite considering ( double balcony doors. Good air con. Can leave luggage. Reception 2-10pm. Side Entrance, code worked really well, take photo on phone.

These comments were no problem to me but maybe for others. Entrance in nice side street. Hostel is not the whole building it is situated on 2nd floor only so entrance is shared which is normal. 4 flights of stairs, but small good lift. This hostel is a good place to stay. Feels good.

The location within Madrid – it is close to two metro stations on different lines, and within walking distance of a lot of attractions. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. There's a kettle with tea, coffee, and biscuits. There's a small fridge.

The location within a residential building. The Citadel is on one floor of a building that is otherwise full of private flats, I think. The floors are not carpeted (being Spain there's no need), so you hear everything. There was a child running up and down above my room for quite a while. Reception is (understandably) only manned from 2 pm to 10 pm. I wanted to leave my luggage early in the morning. You can leave it by reception, but anyone could walk off with it. If you speak Spanish, you can ask the cleaner, who arrives around 10 am, to put it in a room for safety.

Perfect location a 7 minute walk from the Palace and about a 10 min walk to Sol metro with lots of shops and food places. Two supermarket expresses close by to pick up essentials. Extremely good value for size of room and location. It's based in 2nd floor of apartment block there is a lift and stairs. Bars and food places just outside the building, it was not noisy and slept well. Room was a good temperature as it was 25C outside. Staff was friendly and we checked in at 2pm. Fridge in the room and large TV.

Bathroom could do with an update but very clean

The room was very spacious and well-kept. The basic amenities (fridge, desk, chair, closer) were there. Checking in was really easy and the reception was friendly. The location is perfect; it is right next to some nice places, restaurants and big sights, but as it is not on a main street, it is still very quiet.

The shower was small and cramped. The room had little natural light and no view from the windows. I do not care, however; as you should leave your room anyway.

This is an older historical building which is very nice from the outside, it needs some updating in the hallways but the rooms are very nice. We had an extra large room, completely updated including refrigerator and water kettle with glass cups and glasses, nice extra bonus. Location is very near Plaza Mayor, Opera and Plaza de Sol, excellent location for walking and metros. Gabby the receptionist could not have been nicer. This will be our hotel in Madrid.

We had trouble getting to the hotel because we took train line C1 not metro line C1. This was our fault not the hotels. If you come to Madrid by train to Charmartin-Clara train station stay in the station, go downstairs to the metro line C1 to SOL.

Good location, everything is close, perfect stuff, lady during the check in was super positive and nice, he looked very tired but still smiling 🤗 second receptionist opened our room by mistake probbably, she looked realy shy, its okey happens sometimes, good hotel, goot staff, free water coffe and tea. room a little bit small espeasially bathrooom but for short stay its a normal.
