The staff was very friendly, specially the cleaning lady and the receptionist. The space was very clean and I felt safe in it. The bathroom and shower was spacious and clean. The air conditioning worked perfectly and saved our lives many times.

There was an incident where a piece of underwear of the former guest was found under the bed, but the cleaning lady was very apologetic (even though it wasn’t her fault, because she thought it was ours) and cleaned our bed right away.

Great location and friendly staff who allowed us an early check-in since the room was already prepared. They also let us leave our luggage after check-out, which was very convenient. The room was very clean. However, there were two points we didn’t appreciate: firstly, the hotel requested payment for half of the stay upfront via an external link rather than through Booking.com. I didn’t proceed with this as I don’t trust external links, especially since my reservation allowed free cancellation up to 5 days before arrival. Secondly, when we communicated in English via Booking’s chat, the hotel’s responses were in Spanish. Although translating wasn’t an issue for me personally, it would have been more considerate from the hotel’s side to reply in the language we initially used.

The place was really well located. Very clean facilities. In case you are carrying big luggage there is an elevator. It is very easy to enter the Hostal in case the personnel is not there.

The room was a little small and the bed too, but that was all.

The room was pretty comfortable and in a great spot in Madrid (near La puerta del Sol) - Something to add is that Madrid is a very "walkable" city. The breakfast is served in a coffee nearby and it's very good and gets you through the morning until lunch.

Check in took a bit of time, didnt know how to get in. Called host but lack guidance while they were at the reception itself.

You’re a short walk to most of the major places; eg. 20 minutes to the Prado; you’re a 5 minute walk to the Sol metro station if you want to catch the metro to, say, the Atocha train line (4 stops) to go south to Toledo or even further south. The staff were friendly and helpful even though only one person spoke English, but that was okay.

If you are a breakfast eater - and I don’t mean a croissant and coffee - then I would not recommend the breakfast included option as that’s all you’ll get from the breakfast place they use. If that’s your normal breakfast then it’s no issue.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The room was nice and clean. We arrived at night, and the way to enter independently was not very clear, so we got a bit confused, which was frustrating late at night after a flight. Later, due to our flight being canceled, we booked another night and were kept in the same room. The sink was clogged and not fixed, and the shower was basic with unstable hot and cold water. Very good location. Overall, good value for money.

Not all the staff spoke English, and it was very difficult to communicate. We requested a taxi for 2:45 AM to the airport and repeatedly checked whether we could rely on the shuttle service. Needless to say, no one showed up, and we had to find a taxi to the airport in the middle of the night.

The price-quality is very good. Central location, walkable distance to Plaza Mayor and Palacio Real. Easy check-in, they provide a pin to enter to the building and to the room. Our room was small, but clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The housekeeping comes daily if you don't put a notice on the door, to change the towels and make the bed; it may be a nice touch for some, but we did not think it was necessary for a city break. I read mixed reviews about the breakfast, but we liked it very much. The hostal provides you with tickets to go to a Chocolateria nearby, about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. There you can choose from 4 types of breakfast, sweet (churros, pastry) or savory (tomato toast, ham sandwich) with coffee or tea. It is a filling breakfast and with good flavour, I recommend the porras with hot chocolate.

The room has a balcony, but I don't know if the doors really open, I did not wanted to tug too much on the doors. Depending of the night and other guests, it may be noisy from the streets or indoors. We came in December and it was a little cold in the room, but there was no blanket in the room, you had to use the sheet and duvet.

Very comfortable room, very central location. Staff were very helpful despite language barrier. There is an elevator, which is quite nice for sending bags up and down, though it's too small to be very functional otherwise.

The room was quite small and the shower especially was quite cramped. But that's to be expected in a historic building in the city center. The breakfast voucher (my friend took it, not me) was not worth it in my opinion, better to have the ability to choose which of the many local options you would like to partake in.

The hotel had a fantastic location, making it easy to reach and check in smoothly. The staff was exceptionally hospitable and always ready to assist. A special mention to the reception staff, who kindly provided us with a travel card on our last day an unexpected and thoughtful gesture that made our trip to the airport much easier. One of the highlights was the Bio restaurant just 30 meters from the hotel. This self-service spot offered a wide menu, from starters to desserts, coffee, and even beer all for just €12 per person, making it an incredible value.

The room was a bit small, but overall, the stay was great!
