The staff was very friendly, the bed was super comfy, and everything was exceptionally clean. The hotel was in an ideal location to walk and metro to everything, and in a good location to take a rest in the middle of the day without losing much time. It felt luxurious period, but it felt extra luxurious for the price.
This is the smallest complaint - the shower head was so wide and the stall so small that it was impossible to stand anywhere that wasn't below water. The toilet area was also very small, and the door probably wouldn't have closed while you were on the toilet if you were tall.

Desmond at reception was extremely nice and accommodating and helped me out significantly when I encountered an issue. He and the cleaning staff are extremely sweet people - well versed in customer service and clearly take great pride in their work. I do think the price of this hotel is fair. my room was comfortable and the location cannot be beat.
The original (single) room I was assigned did not have a window that would open. For health reasons, I have heat sensitivity, and with the air conditioning unit only in heat mode until May/ June, I had no way to cool the room down after a day of the outdoor temperature getting up to 20 to 21 degrees Celsius. Luckily, Desmond and the hotel manager understood my concern and switched me right away to a room where I was able to open the window.

I absolutely loved my stay here! The staff were all wonderful, but a special shoutout goes to Desmond at the reception—he truly made a difference. He was incredibly kind and welcoming when I checked in, took the time to explain everything clearly, and even shared some fantastic local recommendations. Thanks to him, I ended up having an amazing night tour of the city, which I really enjoyed. Desmond’s gentle and funny nature really made me feel at ease, which meant a lot, especially since I was traveling alone. The hotel itself is in a perfect location—close to everything, yet in a quiet street. Everything was clean and smelled fresh. The room had everything I needed and the bed was really comfortable. The coffee from the hotel’s café was great. It was a pleasure to stay there. Highly recommend!

Perfect Stay in the Heart of Madrid! I had an amazing stay at Select Sol. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable — the perfect space to relax after a day of exploring Madrid. The location couldn’t be better: right in the very center, just steps away from Puerta del Sol, Gran Vía, Plaza Mayor, and within walking distance to all the main attractions, museums, and vibrant neighborhoods like Chueca and Malasaña. Despite being in such a lively area, the room was quiet, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help with directions and recommendations, which made the whole experience feel even more personal.

All the staff are really friendly, and always willing to provide assistance. The front desk staff Desmond is excellent, he's really helpful and provided us a map with attractions and his recommendation. The location is unbeatable, walking distance to most attractions and also metro stations. I felt pretty safe at night too with staff at front desk 24hrs. A nice little cafe as well with good coffee and pastries for purchase.
The bathroom/toilet is extremely small. Your knees can touch the bathroom door when you sit on the toilet, it is smaller than the bathroom on a plane. Toilet and the shower room is right in front of the bed so there is no privacy.

The location is absolutely great. Couldn't have been better. Almost everything is nearby or easily accessible via metro. The opera metro station is the closest and is a stones throw away. There are a lot of places to shop and also restaurants to eat very near to the hotel. The room itself is extremely comfortable and has a great vibe with the rooms and bathrooms extremely clean and well maintained. There is also a locker room free of charge should you wish to safely store your luggage before checkin time or after checkout. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Being a solo female traveler I was very comfortable throughout the stay and it was all safe. If u plan to visit do consider staying here even if u plan to visit with family. They also have a cafe within the hotel premises and seating to enjoy your coffee. Overall highly recommended. .

Perfect location, comfy room, and friendly staff. Desmond was very helpful in taking photos for me before I headed off to a wedding. I also enjoyed listening to the chilled out background music which Victor selected while I was sat in the common area doing some work. Syra coffee on the ground floor are also a huge bonus for coffee lovers out there who appreciate taste & good value.
Toilet was indeed a little cramped but not not a huge deal. Some flies also appeared in the sink every morning despite having never opened the window. (Where did they come from?!)

My sister gifted me some tickets to go watch the Lion King and we decided to stay in Madrid for a few days. We're so happy we chose this place. All the hosts were amazing, super helpful and offered both early check-in if possible (with a fee) or the option to leave our luggage there for free. They were super welcoming and respectful. Specially Victor who was super sweet and helpful to us during our check-out. The breakfast options where delicious, some of the best coffee we had during the trip. More over, the location was ideal, super close to the subway and walking distance to Gran Via, Place del Sol, etc. Everything was super clean. The room was very cosy and the bed comfy with three pillows you could use, something I really appreciated. Long story short, we really enjoyed our stay and I'm sure it won't be the last time we stay here.

It was a top location indeed. Close to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, everything. There was housekeeping every day and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were nice. Viktor in particular was very friendly.
Since I also visited Room select in Bilbao during the same trip and it was more than great there, I didn’t expect the room in Madrid to be so small and I didn’t expect to have one large bed with one duvet. Maybe the mistake was mine here as I didn’t book the right room, so I accept this. What I didn’t expect at all was the bathroom and the toilet thing. I absolutely did not expect these to be part of the room (and not a separate “room”). The toilet was way too small (and I am tall) , and my legs couldn’t fit there, and the door of the bathroom was a bit transparent. Both were not very convenient for non-couples. I had the trip with a female friend and was not comfortable at all with the toilet and bathroom. Otherwise, it was a really nice place.

Needed a simple room as a solo female for a few nights after a business trip - and Select Sol exceeded my expectations. I was initially worried as I walked up and down the sideroad (its fronted by a small cafe) but once through the door, I was delighted by the friendly and informative welcome from the reception desk staffer (who spoke excellent English) . My room was modern/industrial/funky but spotless, the double bed had good linen and was comfortable, the shower was enclosed in a separate cubicle from the toilet. Lighting was fine and there was good charging points for gadgets. There were nice little touches like two bottles of water, chocolates, a map, and a welcome note. Reception booked me a taxi to the airport, which worked seamlessly (even though the staff changed, they knew all about it when I checked.) Location is great - at the bottom of the pedestrian area of Puerta del Sol but just up a small lane so v quiet. I felt very safe and could walk everywhere I wanted - Prado, Palace. El Retiro park, etc. Security was good with a key code after hours and good locks on the bedroom door. A very cheap breakfast offer (coffee and a pastry) was available at the cafe counter. I would happily recommend to family and friends.
Can't think of anything. The price wasn't exactly budget (although it was reasonable) but I did book very last minute.
