Breakfast was fantastic, a lovely room and a huge range of fresh foods and pastries. Staff were extremely helpful, the location was great - about a 10 min walk to the Cathedral and old town (although it is an uphill walk so trickier in the heat or with small children). There is parking outside but it is limited so in busier times you might need to leave the car across the road.

The pools (outdoor and indoor) are lovely and fresh towels are provided, but there are limited sun loungers so you might be lying on the grass surrounds. Also the gym is well equipped but small so can feel cramped during busier times. However if you go midday onwards it was much quieter.

We very rarely stay in chain hotel groups but this exceeded our expectations. The hotel is perfectly placed with parking just a short walk from the centre. The staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was wonderful, some nice touches with fresh flowers on the tables, staff came round with freshly prepared health drinks which were wonderfully refreshing. The hotel has a wonderful pool and spa area with some outdoor seating which was very welcome after exploring the town and walking the Camino. We would highly recommend and would happily stay here again.

Perfect hotel to unwind and relax after finishing the Camino walk. Lovely indoor & outdoor swimming pools. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Really nice shower. Ate at the bar twice for lunch and both times food was delicious.

Walk into city (cathedral) whilst only 1km it is hilly, but the distance from the city allows the hotel to be a tranquil escape from the noise and crowds. Not a negative against the hotel as not their fault but there is no supermarket or convenience shop nearby , not that we could see anyway.

The only disappointment where the swimming pools. We booked this hotel partially for the pools, but both the indoor and outdoor pools are starting to be a bit worn and could do with a decent clean and some general maintenance. The pool was the only thing that wasn't fantastic about our stay,

The NH Collection Compostela is a beautiful hotel, very well located, in walking distance to the center of Compostela. It has a very good parking (it costs 11 €/day). You can also park outside, but often the spaces are occupied. The room and bathroom were excellent, we had a Nespresso machine in the room, the bathroom has bidet. The breakfast was excellent. Service at reception also very good.

The hotel uses at in the main room a cleaning agent with strong odour, nobody complains, we hated this smell.

The hotel served breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30. The breakfast room staff were very pleasant and the service was exceptional. Breakfast offers hot and cold selections from the menu card as well as full continental and various hams and cheeses, fruits and cereals. It is by far the best breakfast I have had in any hotel. Well worth the extra supplement. My room was well proportioned and the hotel cleaning staff offer a free drink card every morning that you do not require room service. I thought this was a very good idea (and reward) for tourists doing their part for conservation of water and cleaning supplies etc.

The hotel furniture is a little jaded, including the room furniture. Some lounge chairs and bedroom hairs need replacing. The hotel is a 15 min-20 min walk from the main "action" in Santiago de Compostela and nothing close by, so you do need to walk or taxi into that area if you want an evening in town. After a long day walking it would have been nice to have something (Bar or restaurant) closer to hotel. However the hotel does offer fine dining and bar services in the evening.

It offers an oasis on the edge of the old town in a green setting. Secure parking on site with large comfortable room and bathroom. The pool was a great way to cool off after a long day exploring. Easy access into the old part of town and to the surrounding residential area when you can buy groceries and have an alternative experience to the throng of the old town. Dinner and breakfast available on site. We ate at the restaurant one evening and it was excellent.

The staff were really helpful and friendly and spoke great English, and service was exceptional at front desk, in rooms and in the restaurant. The room was clean and had all the expected facilities - good-size room and bathroom, safe, minibar, coffee machine and kettle. The hotel is spacious, modern and clean. Breakfast was wonderful, with many options offered. Although the hotel isn't in exactly the old historic centre of Santiago, it's a pleasant 10 minute walk to the centre, so good exercise. It's actually in a nice area, less touristy, and across the road from a park and the Theatre/Auditorium and also close to the Natural History Museum. If you want to take a taxi, taxies come to the hotel very quickly. Nice pool and reasonable gym faclities.

The dinner menu seemed pricey, and though there were cheaper food options offered at the lounge-bar, these were limited and also quite expensive. With all the space the hotel has, it would be nice to have the option of a simple, reasonably-priced buffet supper or cafe with simple pasta dishes.

I liked just about everything about it. The staff were amazing. The mini croissants were delicious. I liked the indoor pool and my friends liked the outdoor one.

The Turkish Bath wasn't working the first day and the sauna wasn't switched on the 2nd day. I didn't have a treatment My friend was unimpressed with her pedicure - and 3 other friends said the massage area was more like an operating theatre than a treatment room. Not a scented candle lighting nor a picture on the wall. We expected more from a spa perspective but everything else was super

The hotel is rather large but in spite of the size, the attention we received from staff was very personable and very friendly. We had some issues with the room size we initially booked and the hotel was able to upgrade us to a suite at a reasonable additional cost. The overall grounds are very well kept and the overall facilities is what one would expect from a five star hotel. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and very plentiful. We used room service on a number of occasions and it was prompt and quite good in variety and quality. I would indeed recommend NH Collection for anyone planning to spend time in Santiago.

Our only complaint- had nothing to do with the Hotel per se, the topography was somewhat a strain on our legs when we ventured out. The uphill climbs will be a challenge for those who are less athletically inclined.
