Exceeded expectations for the night we spent there: staff were kind in reception and receptionist coordinated everything with other staff members to check-in. Once inside we got an elegant modern designed clean room with big TV and outstanding sound proofing (same as Hilton or Sheraton level), confortable bed, pillows, sheets and blankets... Air conditioning has very good quality as well as the bath kit and any other obect inside: so we slept perfectly. Location is central but a little bit hidden from street caos. Within walking distance there is the beach promenade, Galle Face mall and sightseeings. We didn't try hotel breakfast service or any hotel Restaurant but there are many others nearby just meters outside. The taxi or hotel driver service is recommended for its good price, so you do not risk bad suprises (beware airport guys). For sure I will prefer this hotel to stay in Colombo: it is highly recommended and we were happy to found it on Booking!

had a great stay at Fairway Colombo. The hotel is clean, modern, and well-located, with a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. The staff were absolutely fantastic — warm, professional, and always willing to help. My room was very comfortable, and while breakfast wasn’t exceptional, it was perfectly adequate. For the price, it’s excellent value. A standout feature was the room service, which was quick, easy to use — and delivered by a robot! A fun, futuristic touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. A word of advice for travellers — especially solo ones: Tuk Tuks are an absolutely brilliant way to get around Colombo. They’re cheap, quick, and ideal for navigating the city’s busy streets. However, if you’re approached by drivers on the street — including outside the hotel — expect to be quoted heavily inflated prices, often two to three times what Uber or PickMe charge. When I mentioned the app rate, the price usually dropped to something reasonable, which I initially accepted for convenience. However, during several rides I experienced persistent hard selling — offers to visit “special” shops, go on local tours, and in one case (as a solo male traveller), even an offer to “find me a woman.” Even after politely declining, the pressure continued throughout the journey, making the experience uncomfortable. This wasn’t unique to the hotel — it happened consistently across Colombo. After a few such rides, I stuck to using Uber, which was fast, reliable, great value, and completely hassle-free — and I always tipped well for the excellent service. Overall, Fairway Colombo is a fantastic base for exploring the city. I’d absolutely stay again — just use ride apps to get the best out of Colombo’s brilliant Tuk Tuk experience, and enjoy the bonus of robot-delivered room service!

Super friendly and hospitable staff. Very easy check-in process. Stayed 5 nights. Good breakfast selection but basically the same every day. More local flavours. Stayed in room 506. Bed was very very comfortable. Nice pillows. Clean. Enough closet space even for a longer stay. Also enough wall plugs for electronics. Good lighting inside the room. Comes with a bar fridge and kettle with tea and coffee options. Free water daily. Bathroom is clean. Great water pressure in the shower. Nice quality towels. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. The hotel is located in Colombo 1. About 20 minutes walk to Pettah Market and One Galle Face Mall and 25 minutes walk to Colombo Lotus Tower. Plenty of tuk-tuks outside the hotel that will get you there much quicker and cheaply (if you negotiate the fare upfront). Local eateries are less than 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. I'd definitely stay at the Fairway Colombo again.

Very comfortable room in a fantastic location. Staff were accommodating and, unlike some of the other reviews here, I found the breakfast to be quite plentiful and diverse in its selection.

I was worried about the potential for loud music late into the night (as many other reviewers have commented about) especially because I stayed over a Friday night. While there was some heavy bass coming through the walls, it was neither as loud, disturbing, nor as late as I had initially feared. I got a pretty good night sleep! Only two things to mention: I messaged to request an early check-in but no one ever replied, though it ended up being okay and I was able to check in at 10:00AM as I had hoped. The second was that the kettle in my room was broken. Aside from that, a very decent stay. Would probably return next time I'm in Colombo!

The location is great being close to the railway station. The room is comfortable, the pillows extremely lovely.

The staff in the resturant are so strict. A another couple & I just wanted a drink but the guy made us wait because we werent on the buffet list. He acted as if we were trying to sneak in which was insulting. At breakfast he reminded me at least 3 times I had to pay extra & where to do it & they watched me all throughout as if I was not going to. Not very good behaviour for a hotel of that quality.

Overall, the hotel offered decent value for what I paid - good mid-priced choice of place to stay while exploring Colombo. The staff were friendly and always greeted you with a smile. The room was spacious enough, with sufficient variety of TV channels in English. The location was good for a first-time visitor to Colombo, within walking distance from Galle Face Green, and right across from the old Dutch Hospital. The variety on offer at the breakfast buffet is impressive, and they did vary some of what was served between the two days I had breakfast there. The rooftop restaurant where breakfast is served is also quite comfortable and has ample powerpoints available in case you need to charge any devices while having breakfast. The quality of the wifi was also good.

Really good communication prior to visit and airport collection arranged with the hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient. Very comfortable room, although not the largest. Fresh water every day. Cafe and restaurant/pub attached to the hotel which made breakfast and evening meals very easy on days when we wanted to stay nearby. Location couldn’t be better for most of the City attractions.

Possibly due to the Christmas festivities, but music nearby continued into the early hours, making sleep very difficult.

Location was great nice places to eat opposite hotel. Room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom newly renovated with good water pressure. Good little gym on site. Would recommend a room with balcony as it was nice to sit out and watch people below. Liked the rooms were serviced and free filtered water provided. Good airport transfer at a reasonable price. Great place to start Sri Lanka holiday.

The outdoor roof bar would have been nice but for the smokers…bar and restaurant area looked a bit uninteresting so we didn’t eat there….not a problem as plenty of choice all around hotel.

Very well located (Fort District), this is a modern hotel, (currently under renovations) with very comfortable beds and very good service. Our room had a strong smell of paint because of the works and they kindly upgraded us to a suite since there were no more deluxe rooms available... Unfortunately it was on the 3rd floor, so near the noise of the bars and market! The room was great, wonderful beds, silent AC, Sat TV and very fast wi fi

At night it's a bit noisy, especially if you're not on the top floors. The breakfast was very poor and the coffee simply horrible (saw many guests giving up and started having breakfast in a bakery nearby) - a shame for a 4 star hotel!
