The Zest Metropole was a nice small hotel located very well across of the Dutch hospital area where there are plenty of restaurants and bars - all of good quality. We didnt eat at the hotel restaurant but only due to the large number of offers nearby. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The old town of Colombo was a 15 min wak from the hotel - all other attraction of the city was reachable with Uber for a low cost. The tuk tuk drivers were a bit annoying and prices too high - so we went for uber all the time.

There are many scammers in the city - a common trick is that people say that they saw at the hotel and they work as waiters there. Then they ask where you are going and will try to convince you to go in aother directions due to holidays etc. Just be aware and say no

Good convenient location with a few decent places to eat very nearby. Used as a first night before embarking on tour of Sri Lanka, and also the last night after the tour before an early morning (6am) taxi to airport (the hotel arranged this. The hotel allowed us to leave a suitcase there for the 2 weeks while we were travelling and staff were very efficient.

Close to a very noisy music venue just across the road. We stayed two Friday nights, 2 weeks apart, and it was the same both nights. Wifi didn't seem as reliable as all the other hotels we stayed while travelling around Sri Lanka.

The property is very well-located in the city, making it easy to access the train station and nearby restaurants. The rooms, toilets, showers, restaurant, and beds are all well-maintained, which adds to the overall comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Despite having a minimal reception area, the rooms are surprisingly spacious.

The only drawback of this hotel is the wifi. For a city hotel, having unreliable wifi is quite disappointing, especially since it’s been pointed out in previous reviews with no apparent improvements. During my trip to the south of Sri Lanka, I stayed at hostels costing $15 or less per night, and even they managed to provide good wifi. It’s a significant issue that the hotel should address.

Perfect location in the centre of the fort, directly behind the old Dutch hospital food court. Clean, modern and comfortable room. Hotel has despite small size a real gym and s nice little restaurant.

The rooms on booking had no breakfast possibility. Breakfast is available and good but for Sri Lanka standard and relative to the room rate itself, quite high (it added 50% to the room rate).

A good mattress and aircon. A good shower. Thick window blinds for a good night's sleep in a well darkened room and, being on the 7th floor, well away from the noise of the Colombo streets. Very handy restaurants and bars nearby and a good shop for buying souvenirs and clothing in The Fort (Odel). A 15 minute walk to Galle Face Green and a 15 minute walk to the Pettah Market

It took 5 minutes for the hot water to reach the shower on the 7th floor, so go and do something else while you're waiting. Didn't like the "slippy slidey" plastic sheet on the bed below the bottom sheet.

Our reserved room was upgraded, which is always a pleasant surprise. The room was large and clean, nicely decorated in modern style with a comfortable bed. The restaurant had Western, Indian and Sri Lankan dishes on offer for dinner, and we were especially impressed with the latter. The service was also excellent. Breakfast was OK and buffet style. The front desk staff agreed to keep our large bags while we toured around Sri Lanka for 12 days, so a special thanks for that service. The hotel is very well located for exploring the Colombo Fort area.

Nothing to dislike in the hotel, but outside are many men trying to get you to use tuc tucs. They will tell you that there is an amazing event today that we must go and see, and that we must take only "official" red or black tuc tucs to go there because the others are "private" (i.e. bad), Then the next guy will tell you the opposite. It's all BS but rather annoying when trying to enjoy the local sights.

First and Foremost - Sri Lanka as a country real needs support from tourism - so would recommend everyone visit the country. Special Mention to Gamini Kumara at the Restaurant - He was super helpful and took really good care of us at breakfast The hotel is new and in in the heart of the tourist location of Colombo right next to the Dutch Hospital - Everything you might want to visit in terms of landmarks is within walking distance of the hotel There are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars to suit all budgets in and around the hotel - so you don't need public transport Would definitely recommend everyone to stay here

They need to improve the quality of coffee served at breakfast - we found it to be too weak

Good location: walk to markets, air conditioned mall, red mosque, waterfront park. Super clean, great shower, in room water, coffee, tea, hairdryer, safe etc Air conditioning in room is excellent, cleaning staff polite. They held my bags after check out.

A staff member suggested the taxi to the airport would cost us 3x what PickMe actually charged. Was he trying to get us to use someone he knew? Lots of touts in the immediate area wanting to take you to see a “ceremony”…don’t fall for that. Kind of annoying being approached continuously.

Fantastic location close to all of the sights we wanted to see. We took the half-day city tour and this was enough for us - we saw a temple and its museum, the Natural History Museum and National Museum, as well as the Lotus Tower. Breakfast was fine with some nice fruits and desserts. Ordered room service one night and food was excellent.

Wi-fi was an issue - despite help from the staff on the front desk, it regularly dropped out and was sometimes slow or even completely inaccessible. Had to pay for a latte at breakfast, so I stuck with the pot of coffee which was free.

**Hotel Review** We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel! The hotel is clean, cozy, comfortable and well maintained throughout. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with any request. Every interaction was handled promptly and with a smile. The food in the restaurant was very good. The location of the hotel is excellent. It’s conveniently situated, making it easy to explore the surrounding area and access all the major attractions.

TV has local channels available, no other applications.
