This hotel is in an excellent location and within easy walk of the main train station. It’s also just a couple of minutes walk from the bus station where most tours go from. The hotel is smart and clean and the staff are very helpful. The rooms are well equipped and very comfortable. The breakfast was also good. There’s plenty of places to eat near the hotel but the Edelweiss evening restaurant was also very good. Overall, we felt that we were in the perfect place for activities but it was also nice and quiet to provide a relaxing stay.

Absolutely nothing to dislike. Well done to the Team who run this hotel.

We stayed at Edelweiss Manotel for a long weekend to celebrate my partner's birthday, and overall, we had a great experience. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the lake and main attractions, making it an excellent base for exploring. At first glance, the hotel’s exterior isn’t particularly eye-catching, but don’t let that deter you. Inside, the staff is welcoming, and while the lobby is on the smaller side, it has a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The rooms have been recently renovated with a beautiful chalet-style design that we absolutely loved. The restaurant downstairs is a real highlight, serving delicious traditional Swiss food. The live musician truly elevated the dining experience—what a show! However, since the restaurant is famous for its cheese fondue, the smell of melted cheese is quite intense throughout the hotel, including in the rooms. Unfortunately, this made it difficult to sleep, as everything seemed to carry the scent of raclette. Overall, if you’re a cheese lover, you’ll feel right at home here! But if you're sensitive to strong food aromas, it might be something to consider before booking.

We liked the theming of the hotel, the location, size of the rooms and facilities

We had been informed in advance that the restaurant was closed and breakfast would be served on the terrace. However we were informed of this after we had booked and it was not practical to find another hotel. The terrace was actually a small area at the front of the hotel. Not big enough for everyone and as a family of 4 we wanted to sit together. There were not enough staff and the service was slow. Things were also missed. The serving staff were very nice.

The rustic restaurant. Unfortunately , after our first night, it closed for renovation. Open again in September. We were warned in advance, but didn't change our booking. Breakfast was available on the terrace or in the room. The situation of the hotel suited us very well. Bus no.25 from train station passes through the square and on to botanical gardens, from there you can reach UN buildings and Red Cross/Crescent museum. Also within easy walking distance of the lake and lake cruises!. Bus 25 also goes over the river to old town, if like me, you can't walk too far. Plenty of dining options nearby. Hotel prices in Switzerland are expensive in general, Edelweiss hotel offered the best option for us.

Nothing at all, it was just bad timing that it's beautiful restaurant was closed for renovation after our first night.

It was a very easy registration process when we arrived. Our side of the hotel faced over a square/plaza which gave some space around and a broad view. As always we choose places where windows open to get fresh air. This place was no exception. The room itself was of sufficent size - we did not feel crammed in, and it was clean. The hotel's location was central and we walked to most places. The staff were helpful when we had questions.

There is a downside to being next to a plaza in that before sunrise a cleaning machine starts operating and hoses down the paved areas. This can be annoying if you wanted to sleep in. I don't know whether this happens every day. Second, parking is impossible around this area. We were driven to the hotel by our friend who could find nowhere nearby to legally stop.

The staff was excellent, and even though I arrived early, they made it possible that my room was ready earlier than an official check-in so that I could get prepared for my meetings. The room was very nice, spacious enough with a comfortable bed. The hotel is in a great location, close to the lake and the central train station.

The soundproofing in the room wasn't very good or maybe my room was in an unfortunate location in the hotel, but it was quite noisy. I could hear everything from the next-door room, the room below, and the staircase.

Hotel was, for me, located w/in walking distance to most of the things I wanted to see/visit. Room was clean and tidy. Did not eat in the restaurant.

I was just a little uncomfortable since there wasn't A/C. The hotel did provide a fan but since I was travelling with a friend, I slept on the pull out sofa (since I'm tall) and she slept on one of the twin beds...the air from the fan was directed more at one person since we were in differections.

Amazing - excellent attentive service from all staff. Great sleep. Comfy bed and white fluffy towels. The room was cosy. The restaurant was so cool with a Swiss style chalet. Housekeeping attentive items replenished. Didn’t like the soft pillows but was exchanged for a firm pillow. Extra shower given when requested. Central location ten mins from station. Great area for food and drink.

Breakfast hot food was cold on one occasion. Soft pillows. More range on the hot food. Scrambled eggs not sure if this was made from real eggs?

The hotel was amazing, fantastic location near the lake and near supermarkets and cafés and restaurants plus 10 mins from the train station. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was just enough for the start of the day. As a bonus the restaurant was superb with local swiss dishes including fondues.

At breakfast would of loved sausage and bacon but only did one or the other. More just us being picky haha.
