Our stay at Alpinhotel Bort was simply unforgettable. The location is perfect—above Grindelwald with stunning views and direct access to nearby attractions. Our kids spent hours climbing in the adventure park while we relaxed on the restaurant terrace, enjoying a cold beer and the amazing scenery. The staff in the restaurant made us feel truly welcome with warm, friendly chats. Our room was spacious, cozy, and ideal for our family of five, with breathtaking views that greeted us each morning. We visited in summer, but imagining this place as a snowy winter wonderland has us already planning our return. Alpinhotel Bort is a gem—family-friendly and so beautifully located, will stay close to our heart for sure.

Location, location, location! Forget booking down in Grindelwald. This Hotel is at the First cable car middle station. Away from the crazy overrun town Center with the most amazing view onto the mountains since it is located on the opposite hills. The location and view is everything! Restaurant terrace, cheese fondue with the Eiger, Mönch etc looking down on you. It’s unreal. I’d rate it higher than a 10000 franc hotel down in town. You cannot get this kind of view unless you’re up on that hill. And then you grab a gondola to the top and the view is even better. I grew up in the mountains and don’t say this lightly. This view is basically one of the best you can get on the planet. So forget Grindelwald town. Go up there, trust me

We spent two nights at Alpinhotel Bort in late May and had an amazing stay. The room was huge, spotless, and packed with great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—even surprising our eldest son with a lovely birthday message, which made the stay extra special. Despite our late arrival, they accommodated us without any issue. The hotel is situated in a stunning location with easy access to the First Peak, offering breathtaking views, and we had a blast on the nearby Trottibikes. The on-site restaurant was excellent, though on the pricier side. A bonus for EV drivers: they have electric car chargers available.

Just a note for those driving: the road up is very narrow and partly closed due to construction, so a diversion is needed—plan your route carefully. In late autumn or winter, the cable car is the only way to reach the hotel.

Location is mid mountain just off the gondola from Grindelwald up to First. Super scenic and quiet atmosphere with spectacular views across and down the valley. Lovely decor and very helpful and attentive staff. Excellent restaurant. A real treat for a summer mountain stay.

Quiet atmosphere and amazing scenery come with the slight disadvantage of the gondola stopping operations in the late afternoon, somewhat limiting mobility to leave and return to the hotel in the evening. The overall experience more than makes up for this, though, and I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and big room, we choose Eiger view and it is worth of it! The hotel is next to cable car station,so very easy to reach different locations. It’s quite at night and can see the stars, or you can choose take a drink and enjoy the mountains outside the hotel.

Some room’s washroom is outside the room,although it is belongs to that room only but still have a little bit inconvenient. Anyway, washroom is very clean and extremely big!

amazing view, quiet setting, very nice food and very pleasant staff. We had an incident during our stay - the cable car which was supposed to take us up and down the mountain had an issue so we could not use it on the last day. However, the staff were very helpful and kept us informed at all times, and later in the day they organized for out luggage to be delivered down to us after we had skied in another area of the resort. Overall very very nice stay.

I loved most of it, but do note that is is not really ski-in-ski-out for beginners. There is only one red/black slope that leads to the hotel, so if you don't feel comfortable skiing in any conditions you will still have to take the cable car

Very clean , well maintained , excellent friendly and well informed staff , amazing fresh breakfast and very tasty food on the restaurant all of this with a breathtaking views of Grindelwald . This is also located right next to the gondola which goes up to Grindelwald first where all the adventure activities take place .

We stayed on the ground floor , only downside was the people upstairs were pretty noisy during the daily activities and it felt as if some one was walking on our head . Probably wooden flooring with less underlay . But was not a show stopper . The drive up is on a narrow road but a confident driver with a decent car should do the trick .

We loved everything about the hotel. First thing to know — it is located on the first station Bort of the same gondola that goes up to the First. The biggest advantage of the hotel's location is that it has a direct open view on Eiger and Grindelwald. You literally feel like a bird. The view from the window and a little area with loungers in front of our room were breathtaking. Literally, no words can describe this view. Staying at the hotel was already a gem of the trip. The breakfast was very nice. Everything was tasty, the restaurant interior is cozy. We loved it.

After a full 40 years, we finally returned to Switzerland, a country that has etched itself in our hearts. The convenience of reaching higher altitudes without enduring long uphill hikes was fantastic. The abundance of mountain trains and gondolas available in Jungfrau region is unparalleled when compared to any other mountain area we have ever visited. We lodged at the Alpinehotel Bort, a gem perfectly nestled between Grindelwald and the First Cliff Walk. Access to this hotel can be achieved either by taking the First gondola or via a narrow, steep road open only during the summer months. The restaurant within the hotel serves delightful meals, prepared by an exceptional chef capable of crafting wonders such as a velvety pumpkin soup. The floor chef, Żaneta, was not only friendly but also impressively efficient, ensuring that our dining experiences were always enjoyable. With a spacious room that offered stunning views of the surrounding peaks—Eiger (3970m), Mönch (4107m), and Jungfrau (4158m)—we felt enveloped in the beauty of the Alps. The back view extended to the Schreckhorn peak, standing tall at 4078 meters. Each moment spent gazing at these majestic mountains felt like a treat for the soul.

The bed supports, consisting of long square wooden logs, extend a bit too far from beneath the bed. However, everything else is perfect, including the bathroom with its large clothes dryer, and the mats for hiking boots outside the room are a great touch.

we loved the hospitality and welcoming attitude, especially Lucas, with a smile he helped and addressed all the questions!! we had lunch and dinner at this hotel, just amazing and priced right, food was delicious and high quality.

We drove to this hotel, which is single narrow road shared with hikers, bikers and other cars!! The room we got has low sealing, which might be hard to person who has good height, I hit my head multiple times.
