We were kindly upgraded to a lake view room probably because (a) the hotel was quiet and (b) they had our money for at least 6 months before arrival!! However, very comfortable hotel with great parking facilities. Good location on the lake near the bus stop to go into the Centre. Hotel gave us a guest pass for the bus which came in handy. Room was provided with all facilities and the breakfast was fantastic.

No lift to the car park so one has to carry luggage up from the side road or from the car park which is down the road.

The hotel was clean, great location, and lovely hardworking staff. The beds were perfect-firm yet soft. Our family was upgraded to 3 lakeview rooms which treated us to beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Spacious rooms with high ceilings, updated bathrooms, and big windows you can open. Breakfast was fresh and abundant with yummy cheeses, breads, yogurts, and hot items. All 8 of us including 2 kids were very satisfied. If you have luggage, I recommend using the side entrance of hotel which has less steps than the front entrance. There are 2 buses which stop right in front of the hotel which made it very convenient to go to the old town! If I had more time, I would have spent some time at the lake front park nearby. No air conditioning in Switzerland's hotels and buses did not bother us as that is their way of life and we enjoyed the sunny weather and gorgeous surroundings.

There is some road noise if you have a lakeview room. It did not affect my stay but may be bothersome to sensitive sleepers.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel itself is done out beautifully, with great views out over Lake Lucerne from both our room and the bar terrace. Check-in was straightforward and there was plenty of space in the underground car park. The room was also very nice, with a lovely balcony overlooking the lake, and twin beds as requested. The hotel bar was a highlight. Decorated in a beautiful traditional style, with an extensive drinks list, comfortable seating, piano, and friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast in the morning was also extensive and enjoyable.

The only conceivable grip was with the room layout. I'd asked for two beds as I was traveling with my mother. These were provided, but was adjacent such that it may as well have been a double bed. Given that the room was so spacious, I simply moved one of the beds across the other side of the room, with plenty of room to do so. This uncovered a reasonable amount of dust where the bed had been, although I guess they didn't count on me doing my own interior design. But this is all very minor; all in all a very pleasant stay!

- The rooms are not equipped with an iron. They offer ironing services though. I prefer doing the ironing myself, so this is a disadvantage for me.

The breakfast was better this time as we have never had smoked salmon before & I have stayed here about 4 times . I think the bar is very depressing. Very dark & old & never anyone in there . No atmosphere. It desperately needs a refurbishment as does the old fashioned dining room . A good update & overhaul would improve this hotel .

Easy to get into Lucerne on bus with free bus pass. Bus stop right outside hotel. Breakfast good. Reception has a staffed travel desk which was helpful. Seperate toilet with sink. Easy to access Lake Lucerne with nice swimming and walking areas.

We requested a twin room but beds were together. No space to push beds apart. No mini bar in room. Took 3 days for the towel holder to get fixed. Restaurant staff talking very loudly to each other during meal service. No ambience in dining room.

The balcony view of the lake and the mountains from our room was schon (beautiful). The BusMobile station is a 2 minute walk to take the free bus trip to the old city center with a coupon provided by the hotel.

We booked two rooms, but the hotel couldn't give us two rooms close to eachother (which I still find odd, since it is a huge hotel). We had one room at the front, 1st floor, (great view over the lake) but with lousy airco, and one room at the back, 3rd floor, (not a very great view) but with excellent airco.

Europe hotel Lucerne is excellent, the location is very good , lake view rooms were excellent. I really appreciate the hotel staff who upgraded my rooms without any cost . The breakfast is very good. The staff is very helpful to plan your day trip or any other activity.

A little bit noisy at lake side rooms if you open the windows. But lake side rooms are worth staying.

Scenic location in a historic hotel; only a short walk to the city center. There is a bus stop meters away from the front door if you wish to explore some of the smaller villages around the lake.

Breakfast was lacking.
