The hotel is conveniently located across the train station and the tram stops, which also means it can be a little noisy. However, guests are provided with ear plugs which really help to block out the noise from the trains. Very close to the old town which is within walkable distance. St. Gallen is an alternative but great base for those who are looking at visting the Alpstein / Appenzellar region but also wants the convenience and flexibility of adjusting travel plans, as there are a number of regions that are easily reachable under a 2-3 hour time frame via train. Room is very clean.

Literally across the street from the train station, bus/ tram lines but no noise or other issues, only convenience!. Large Very pleasant room with view of clock tower. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice setting. Front desk man was very helpful and helped me make the most of my time there, plus all of his suggestions to my queries worked out very well. Felt safe as female solo traveler. Appreciated the St Gallen transport pass and Aldi type store one block away for wine, snacks, etc. Would stay there again for sure. Had a "chocolate" massage 2 blocks away, took the bus up to the nearby park with lakes and view of Bodensee a quick ride away using the pass, but don't try to walk all the way up there, use the free bus!

Staff are very friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was clean. The location was great, close to the city center, and public transportation was straight in front of the hotel. Which is easier for us who come for business trip. Breakfast available. All we need for our stay is very well accommodated.

There was a burst water pipe happened. It was, of course, a big inconvenience for us. But the staff handled the problem professionally. They organized what we needed perfectly and very helpful. Communication went pretty well. We sure will be back for our next business trip to St. Gallen and definitely recommend this hotel.

Location is great, you can see the SBB station from the window. It's literally across the street. The monastery is also quite close and there are many shops around. It was very clean, bed was really comfortable, breakfast was excellent! Staff was kind and let us leave our bags at the reception while we did some sightseeing.

The rooms could use a little refreshment. It's not a new hotel, that's clear, but the furniture and room door were scratched and it doesn't look so nice anymore.

The corner room was spacious with good air conditioning. The breakfast was good had a variety of choices and staff was very responsive to any requests as well as keeping the food fresh. The front desk staff was excellent and informative to what there is to see and how to get to different sites from the hotel. She was also helpful in our requests for information, extra maid service, and assisting with luggage as needed. The proximity to many attractions was a plus. I would definitely stay here again. I see in other reviews that there is an issue with noise levels, we were on the 5th floor and the noise level was minimal considering we were in an urban area.

Excellent location just across from the train station. Close to all the sights of St.Gallen and the old town. Nice small hotel and very nice staff. good breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The WiFi set up process which requires a credit card although it's free did not work for me. I tried with two cards. My friend in her room had to try three cards to make it work. So the Wifi is included and free but the process is cumbersome. The sinks in the bathroom was very timey and no space to put anything.

Super convenient to the station, very nice building and room for a reasonable price

This is the kind of place that is largely staff-less--I didn't see anyone at any hour of the day or night. When I arrived my key was with the restaurant on the corner, which did work out ok. Also my room was a bit on the noisy side, just with the city environment--with the window closed it helped. They provided earplugs :)

Perfect location opposite the train station, but very quiet at night. I slept very well, and was grateful for the air conditioning. A very nice, large bathroom. I enjoyed the breakfast, the wifi worked fine. I'd happily stay here again.

My only issue was that the front desk wasn't staffed at all times. In the evening, to check in or if there was a problem, I had to speak to a very nice lady in the adjoining restaurant, who was very helpful but busy doing her own job. I felt a little vulnerable when there wasn't anyone on reception to contact if I'd had a problem in the middle of the night, for example.

Superb cleanliness, well prepared breakfast,,accessible to nearby Tourist area, as well opposite to Train Station & bus station, foremost this hotel is very practical,cost saving & time saving. Friendly accomodating Staff.i can recommend this hotel to my friends. very soft COMFORTABLE BLANKET / Comforter.

For those traveling by train there could hardly be a better choice than this property. It is directly across the street from the St. Gallen Hbf while only two short blocks from the stunningly beautiful and interesting Old Town. The breakfast was quite a bit nicer and varied than other breakfasts we experienced in Switzerland. The room was on the smaller size yet well appointed and quiet. The low price was a welcomed change from the rest of pricey Switzerland.

The lobby is nothing to write home about, but in the end that doesn't matter all that much. We would definitely stay here again.
