The #1 advantage of Hotel Salastrains for us was that it is a real ski-in, ski-out hotel, only a one-minute walk from a ski rental center and a ski school. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The dinner menu offered a good selection, and there was an additional prix-fixe multi-course option for hotel guests. We thank the cleaning staff for always presenting with us with a clean room upon our return from a day of skiing, with considerate touches for the children. There was a lively après-ski scene every afternoon on the patio with dance music, with people clearly enjoying themselves. We didn't participate in that, but also didn't mind; some guests, though, might find it a bit loud.

Breakfast was average by Swiss standards, or to be honest, lackluster compared to other ski hotels we've stayed at. The Birchermüesli in particular could be improved to taste fresher and more flavorful. A tall hot-water dispenser for guests to fill our own tea mugs would also be a significant improvement. (During our stay, servers had to bring individual glasses of hot water to the table when someone wanted tea for breakfast.) A wider bread selection, some more varieties of Gipfeli for instance, would also be appreciated. Nonetheless we always found plenty to enjoy at breakfast that'd fuel our full ski days.

The hotel is situated on a mountain, so the view should be great. However, on the day we arrived, it was rainy, cloudy, and foggy, so we couldn't see anything. We found a flower-lined path leading down the mountain, and it takes less than an hour to walk from the hotel to the lakeside. If the weather had been good, it would have been a very scenic route.

Since we left very early the next morning and couldn't have breakfast, we arranged for a breakfast takeaway with the front desk. However, they didn’t prepare it, so we had to pack our own food and take it with us.

The hotel is situated in an amazing location. We thoroughly enjoyed our summer hikes in the area. The outside terrace provides lovely views and is a great place to relax. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and lunch.

Unfortunately we booked the last rooms and one of the rooms was under the roof space making it very uncomfortable for having a shower or going to bed.

Friendly staff, they greeted you and carried the luggage for you Very informative when asked Accommodations were great, I mentioned to them about my wife's birthday, and they decorated the room with chocolates. That impressed me and my wife quite a bit. The view from our balcony was amazing.

Taxi's to get to the hotel are very pricey. That was it.

Its located on the hill, so getting there can be tough from city and coming back also requires a taxi. The location is great and the breakfast is good. The owner is also good

They couldn't provide us city pass since we stayed 1 day. The taxi charges can be high to get to and fro from city

The property is at the top of St Moritz in the skiing slops. Amazing views incredible food beautiful room and bed. They had a bath big enough for me to fit in and soak.

It is a 20 minute hike to the shops of St Moritz but the most amazing scenery along the way

Great view from room. Very quiet in the evening. Free secure underground parking.

The downside to having a great view is that if you go to the centre of St Moritz it’s quite a workout walking back to the hotel being a steep walking for over a mile. Being 6’6”, showering in the bathroom was hard work.

Reception snd all stuff is very kind. Though I felt a little inconvenient from the rocational point of veiw, The hotel is commanding beautiful seanary and made me have silent and relaxed time.

I couldn’t help taking a taxi from the St-Moritz station to the Hotel.

Location and food at the restaurant. The Chef and staff were excellent. The cow bells and view of the Alps were beautiful. Parking was easy.

Locating hotel while driving and needed help despite GPS. HINT-stay on Tunis Road.

Very nice property on the slopes! It’s a bit difficult to get to without a car in the evening, but waking up and seeing cows and horses grazing in the morning is amazing! The views of St Moritz are incredible as well. With 2 funiculars close by, access to St Moritz is really quick and convenient (during the day).
