I like my bedroom area sharing with other guests. Able to meet new people which we can communicate and take care of each others especially for solo traveler. Apart from this I super love the common area (beanbag area) with comics provided. It's pretty chill to just sitting/ laying there with reading some comics before bed. Filter water machine ease guests to refill water and keep hydrated. Washing machine, dryer and drying space behind the accommodation serve guests to dry clothes effectively.

Bedroom locker (and hangers hung on the top) is not easily accessible if you got the top shelf. Recommend to prepare a mini folding chair for guests so that they could reach the shelf/ got the hangers.Roof beams protruding on top of my bedroom make it unpresentable and fee confine spaceGround floor toilet (only ONE available) has poop stain which is really gross. Kitchen cleanliness, Female bathroom facilities (one dryer broken & only had one working) and cleanliness can be improved.

-The bunk beds are stable, they don't shake or squeak when someone is moving -The common area is large, has lots of seating, and is on a different floor from the dorms (so the dorms are quiet) -Easy to check in and out -Free water (but no tea) -Showers had good water pressure and didn't run out of hot water -Located close to an MRT station

-The shower doors are frosted glass, so it's not 100% private

I've spent one night at Meeting mates hostel and it is totally recommended for short-stances. Staff are young and super nice people, we asked several questions and recommendations and were open to help and with good recommendations also. Showers and Bathroom (Separate facilities) were always SUPER clean and provided with everything that you need (Even flipflops for the shower) The Bar is also cool and you can always meet people while having a drink there. Cool place to stay a couple of nights

Beds are not as good as expected. Maybe is common in Asia this kind of thin beds but are not the best for me.

The staff is amazing, friendly, and speaks some English (especially when my Chinese was poor). The facilities are pretty clean, the space is a nice design, and the washing and drying machine were great. The proximity to Longshan Temple MRT station on the Blue Line made transportation fairly convenient, and it is only a 10min walk to Ximending. The MengXia nightmarket is small but good, and there are a ton of little places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as snacks and 7/11 very close!

The common area was quite warm and muggy and the beds and pillows were fairly flat and not very comfortable. My biggest complaint has nothing to do with the hostel itself however...some of the guests, especially the older ones, make quite a lot of noise at night, turn on the lights at 1, 2, 3, even 4 a.m. which wakes everyone up, and generally don't engage in conversation. I was surprised, though maybe the great pricing has something to do with it. I'm not sure anything can be done about it, but it's good to know that sleeping might be difficult, especially for light sleepers. There also seemed to be a mosquito problem...thankfully, it wasn't a big issue, just slightly inconvenient.

Booked super late- as in, literally 5 mins before I turned up- but check in was smooth, staff was friendly, and the bed was comfy. Lockers have lots of room. Communal area is very modern and roomy. Toilets cleaned regularly. Only 2 mins from exit 3 of Longshan Temple MRT, two stops from Taipei Main, so super accessible to zip around the city and see everything. Quiet neighbourhood, too. Peaceful sleep.

Had the time of my life here. All the bunks are sectioned off with pull-down curtains, so you had tons of privacy. The downstairs hangout area is cool - two large couches, two tables, multiple seats, three games of darts, and even a mattress with beanbags you can nap on. The bathrooms are clean, they are very much on top of that. More than enough showers for everyone too. Location was good as well - close to Ximending and the Wanhua station and the Bangka Longshan station.

Lots of mosquitoes unfortunately. The hostel also seemed antisocial at first, though after a day or two people start to warm up to you and you make friends. Mattresses were thin too. Other than that, it was solid. I'll definitely come back.

The rooms are big and have lockers to put your bags in. The common area downstairs is big and being renewed. They have a small kitchen.

The only thing I didn't like was people sleeping on the couch in the common area. I felt like some of the workers working on the renovation were using that area as their own lounge, burping, farting and snoring. Maybe I was unlucky with the people that I met during my stay there. The hostel itself is very clean and spacious.

1. By far the best feature is the HUGE basement area. I used it for exercising, 'stretching my legs' during a nasty storm outside. If one area was too noisy, I'd go to another area. 2. Compared to many places, the Taiwanese are predictable and professional. I stayed at the places for a total of two months looking for the right apartment. I can't think of any bad times.

Nothing worth mentioning.

The two girls in reception were incredibly friendly, they even gave me a discount for my towel. The hostel is centrally located in Ximending, next to Xinfu market, Guangzhou and Huazi night markets, and Longshan temple.

The pictures on booking can be deceiving. The property overall was a bit old and rusty. The beds felt dusty and the showers could have been cleaner. Cleanliness wasn’t terrible, but I had higher expectations give that the hostel is priced higher than other ones in Taipei.

The location was exceptional, very close to ximen and lungshan temple, minutes away from MRT and Carrefour (24/7). The staff were very friendly and approachable.

The reception is open from 10am-8pm but there's an emergency phone for urgent assistance if needed.
