Amaka is a family B&B. The staff here are very friendly. The location is near the Mae Ping River in the ancient city of Chiang Mai, about 2-10 minutes' walk from the ancient city. I came to Chiang Mai for vacation with my wife. This is my third time traveling to Chiang Mai. The room I ordered was a ground floor one with a terrace. The terrace was available for my private use to smoke and drink. You need to take anti-mosquito measures when smoking and drinking outdoors because there are a lot of mosquitoes in Chiang Mai. The hotel's breakfast is customized and needs to be confirmed and reserved one day in advance. The hotel's breakfast chef is of a very high standard. My wife also loved the layout of the room and the breakfast at the hotel. I will continue to stay here if I go back and forth to Chiang Mai in the future. However, the only drawback is that the room does not provide a full-length mirror. I hope that the hotel operator can provide such a facility in the future. This facility is more important for women. In addition, the hotel staff do not speak Chinese. If you are a Chinese tourist, you can use translation software to communicate from Chinese to Thai.

In the early morning, there is a sewer smell on the outdoor terrace, but the smell does not enter the room. There won't be this smell at night. Don't know what causes it. It is recommended to wear a floor-standing mirror!

We couldn't believe the level of comfort we got in Amaka for this price. Room was so cozy and clean with big window that you can sit in. Everything was super clean and it was obvious there was a lot of care invested in running this place. There is a small fridge in the room and the owner was so nice she brough us small kettle for hot water. We liked the guidebook with tips what to do and see in local area. The attitude of the owners is another thing that made this place really stand out, they are friendly, responsive and super helpful, ensuring you feel like at home. Great location right next to nice night market and a lot to do in a short walking distance.

The LOVELIEST place we have stayed out of all the places in Thailand we have stayed so far, including the south too😊😊😊 Pitta you are a star and an absolute credit to this B&B - you went above and beyond during our stay! Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place

This place is so cute and cozy! I stayed in probably the fanciest room as a solo traveler but I know I could have stayed in the cute dorm and been so happy! The room I had would be absolutely perfect for a couple or even two friends traveling together or a solo traveller like me if you want to treat yourself! Beautiful huge room with a ‘living space’, big bathroom, comfortable bed, big window with a window seat and a gorgeous view of the mountains. Great location just north of the old city, walking distance to North Gate Jazz Club and a great street food area as well as basically everything in the old city - Chiang mai is very walkable. Breakfast was great and served in their cute cafe. Couldn’t recommend more! I will be coming back here with my future partner :)

I had a private en-suite room in Amaka 2. The room was beautiful and spacious and clean, and the staff were absolutely lovely. They helped me book a trekking trip and to rent a scooter, as well as book an airport shuttle. You could also have your laundry done which they left in my room neatly folded. Housekeeping came daily and made the bed. Their cafe in Amaka 1 made delicious sandwich!

It was a bit expensive, so it’s more of a treat yourself accommodation if you choose a private room and go by yourself. Not sure how much the dorm beds are.

The staff were extremely friendly and gave great suggestions for attractions and markets. Shoutout to Peter (sorry, I don't know the spelling) who was really bubbly and helpful. We appreciated that the room was cleaned every day with complimentary bottles of water. We really enjoyed the breakfast every morning and the time slot to enjoy the breakfast was long enough that you didn't have to wake up extremely early or feel rushed. The location was great and walking distance to many restaurants, markets, 7/11 and massage places.

The hot water pressure could be better. There wasn't a lot of space to store luggage bags.

Urana and Vladi and all the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was very delicious, they helped us with booking different tours, and also provided us with tips on where to go and where to find the best restaurants (hidden gems) around the city. The hotel / bed and breakfast is in a very strategic location in the city and we were able to walk to the different attractions around the city. We stayed in the King terrace room and found it to be very clean and spacious.

Super beautiful and cozy place at North Gate , very chill neighborhood while still close to all the attractions , the staff were amazing , shared bathrooms and showers were totally clean and shower pressure was so nice . What i liked the best about this place is that fact that it’s very social without being a party or a noisy place so you get to spend quality times with other travelers . Totally recommended and will def stay there if i come back to CNX

The matters are a bit hard but i think you can ask for a change .

It was a nice space with lots of room for a solo or couple traveling and is just outside the northern border of the old city. A good economical choice if you want to be near the old center.

There was loud construction noise next to my room and since I was working remotely it was not suitable for me, however the staff was very kind and allowed me to cancel my booking to find a quieter space, the noise was not their fault. I appreciated the good customer service. The noise was only during the day so if you are a tourist exploring it wouldn’t affect you. If you are disabled physically note that you need to take the stairs to access any rooms and there are no elevators

The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed from basic amenities to coffee and some snacks. It was exactly as it was shown in the pictures and the room decor offered us homely vibes which we absolutely loved. To our delight, filtered water was provided for free and we could fill our water bottles whenever we needed. Breakfast was included and we really appreciated that even on the day we had to leave early, they packed us some good sandwiches and drinks despite the cafe still being closed. All the staffs there were very helpful and hospitable and we could understand that they do their best in meeting each guest’s needs.
