Self check-in was a breeze, and Nicki was very accommodating with all my questions. The place is right at the center of Old Town, which makes it perfect for first-timers in Chiang Mai. The room was spotless—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need: a safe box, bedside outlets, bright lighting, a mini fridge, and complete shower essentials. They also cleaned my room thoroughly each day, with fresh towels and necessities replenished regularly. They also offer laundry services for a fair price. What made my stay really special was how they arranged my request for a tour to Lamphun and Lampang. It was hard to find a private tour to these off-the-beaten-path destinations that wasn’t overly expensive, but Nicki went out of her way to help coordinate everything smoothly. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip.

I spent a whole month here, working remotely, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better setup. Not once did the hotel Wi-Fi let me down — a small detail, but for remote work, it’s everything. My room was spotless, neat, and had all the essentials. The owners are wonderful — flexible, attentive, and genuinely kind people who helped me out whenever I had a question or a small request. There’s a tasty, healthy breakfast you can order for a fair price, and a laundry service that made life much easier. The whole place has this warm, almost “homey” vibe that makes you want to linger. And the location? Perfect. It’s in the historical part of the city, with temples, the Sunday Night Market, and everything you might need just a short walk away. Plus, every tour I booked included free pick-up and drop-off right at the hotel — no extra charges, no hassle. I especially enjoyed the small smoking spot with a friendly cat and a tiny fish pond — the perfect place to unwind in the evening after a day of work.

My experience at Gusto House was fabulous. Renu was a fantastic host who, from the first contact, treated us very professionally. Our accommodation included breakfast, which was prepared with fresh ingredients, excellent seasoning, and a gourmet presentation. Nicky, part of the host family, is a sweet young lady who guided us in choosing our tours according to our preferences, optimizing our time in Chiang Mai. Gusto House is an extremely clean and well-located accommodation. I highly recommend prioritizing Gusto House as a place to stay in Chiang Mai.

I really like this hotel and the family that operates it. Hotel is located just where I needed it to be, very close to the best pool hall in Chiang Mai and I could walk there in 5 minutes. Also it's pretty cheap and they even offer laundry services per basket for 200 baht which is very cheap compared to what hotels are usually trying to charge you by the piece. Internet was also pretty good with very few interruptions in 10 days. I've had much worse internet in hotels that are of higher category during this trip.

Table in room was pretty small (I was working remotely so had to put laptop, keyboard, mouse and a few accessories on it). Not a lot of choice in breakfast options. You get to choose from a few types of eggs, vegan option, stir-fried rice, toast with jam and pancakes. Or all of the above if you prefer that.

The property was in a brilliant location within the old town and everything was very accessible on foot. The staff were very helpful, providing a map and advice when I arrived. They even advised where the best place to go to observe the flower festival parade was and I secured a prime spot as a result! The room was very clean and it was a nice welcome to have a basket of complimentary snacks. I also loved the little black cat that seemed to be present a lot 😊

There was a kettle in the room and coffee cups but no coffee sachets which was strange

Super friendly clean and bright nice breakfast starts at 7am which is great if your going on a tour well located i actually left my phone behind in the room and never noticed till i got through security at the airport so i had to rush back and the cleaner had found it and handed it into reception, so big shout out to their honesty you can feel real safe staying here..

No tea or coffee in the room even though there`s a kettle and cups but i guess you could pick some up at breakfast time if needed..

Amazing family-run hotel in the Chiang Mai historical centre. Room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and there were many vegetarian, even vegan options. Best thing were the owners, extremely nice and knowledgeable about the area and things to do. Even on a day that we skipped breakfast for a tour they made sure that we had bananas, muffins and water before leaving. Would love to come back! Thank you!

Perfect location just at the edge of the old town. Everything walkable, and a quite place during the night. The room itself fully equipped with working safety box and fridge as well. And the top is the staff. Reception staff explaining everything necessary on a map. Breakfast staff preparing delicious food and even flexible with early breakfast in case of a tour. Recommend this place!

I stayed at Gusto House for over a month, I was still doing some remote work in U.S. timezone, so I was sleeping in each day and it was very quiet and comfortable. The staff was extrememly friendly and the room was kept very clean. The location was awesome, right by one of the old town gates next to some really good restaraunts and a local gym. The breakfast was great and the wifi was very fast. I would happily stay here again.

The property is clean, well managed and maintained and the staff are so warm and hospitable they make you feel like family, they make you feel like home. They are so helpful, cheerful and asks what you need and give good suggestions on what to check out in Chiang Mai in terms of foods, what to do etc. Their breakfast is delicious with some choices and well presented. Even though I told myself I won’t have any breakfast just to watch my eating but the moment I saw the food I can’t resist them 😀
