Owner is very friendly. Whatever you need, you can simply ask and she will help. Reading few opinions we had mixed feelings but it seems as most of the bad opinions are from people who hesitate to talk with owner. Room was very clean and tidy. Bin in the toilet is not cleaned daily however after talking with owner we learned you can leave bin bag in the corridor and take a new one - I think it's absolutely fine, this is not hotel after all. Room was spacious and had everything what we needed - A/C, nice bed, spacious toilet, toilet amenities. We were able to get two cold water bottles from the fridge everyday. We rented a scooter and private spot to park was offered. This place also has a great location - it is close to nice restaurant and Chiang Mai center. We highly recommend this place, if we come back to Chiang Mai we definitely will book it once again.

NONG & PI hv built SOMETHING WONDERFUL here!!! I watched NONG clean his GOLDFISH POND and was amazed at the GARDEN, the gentle trickle of the FOUNTAINS and the PEACE that this property projects!!! It is a PEACEFUL, QUIET PLACE and very near 3 Wonderful WATS for some GREAT PHOTOGRAPHY!! Also, the property is close to a LOT of RESTAURANTS which are economically priced. A must stay at a very reasonable price!! I will def. return to HILLDA HOUSE my next time in peaceful, wonderful CHIANG MAI--the very BEST PART OF THAILAND to my mind? Makes a GREAT BASE for seeing the NORTH with all its WONDERS!

There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that I did not LIKE about this Property. A wonderful place of PEACE & REST!!! *** I only wish that I had MORE THAN 3 DAYS at HILLDA HOUSE to discover some other RESTAURANTS on the Old City Canal. Room 101 has a wonderful BIG SHOWER and BATHROOM AREA that looks newly remodeled w/ tiles...ALSO, the Bed in this room was PERFECT--not too soft and not too hard. I GOT GREAT SLEEP in Room 101 of HILLDA HOUSE!!!

We booked here for 3 nights but ended up adding another (which was easy to do at the lobby!) The lady on the front desk was unbelievably nice - cleaned our room early so we could check in, let us check out late, organised boxing tickets for us, leant me a hairdryer - couldn’t ask for more! The location is good within the old city and with amenities close by. Everything was clean and overall I think it was great value for money. Would recommend!!

The only slight negative I can think of was that the wifi didn’t work on the top floor all the time but this wasn’t a big deal at all.

We stayed 4 nights at Hillda Hotel and it was one of the top accomodations of our long trip in Thailand! Our bedroom was meticulously cleaned, new and modern. AC works super and is very quiet. Downstairs there's an area with an open space, tables and a little bar, but hot (and cold) water, tea and a microwave are also there for free. Two bottles of fresh water are provided everyday and, if needed, a fridge in the common area can be used to store food. The homestay is in a tranquil street of the old city about 10 minutes on foot from the main temples. We enjoyed meeting the hosts: they're really nice, friendly and always ready for everything! They can also help with booking and tours if desired. We highly recommend this homestay!

Great location in old Town of Chiang Mai. For the price of bed in dorm hostel I've got big room with king bed and private bathroom at Hillda house hotel! The owner was kind enough to extend my stay for a week with a discount. She helped me to schedule elephants trip and got me 200 Baht off regular price. She was always helpful, all her advice worked out great. It happened that there was my Birthday during my stay in Hillda house, so the owner Pai got me flowers and cake. I highly recommend Hillda house! Definitely will stay here again and will send my friends here.

The internet was slow on the third floor where I stayed, but the lobby area is very nice with high-speed internet. Wasn't a big problem for me.

We had an amazing time, we really recommend this place. The location was really good, 5 minute walk from a 7/eleven, nice restaurants and a good money exchange store. Everything was clean and tidy. The room, bed and bathroom were big. Pai (the owner) was the best, really kind, she help us with recommendations and show us everything. There was drinking water all the time.

The wifi worked very good at reception downstairs but not always in the room. The bed was a little bite hard.

Location - walking distance to everywhere, exceptional and kind-hearted owners. I made a reservation on behalf of my parents and they spoke very highly about how great the owners were; my parents really enjoyed their month stay at Hillda House. Taxi rides were also not required as most places were reachable by foot. I will definitely going to Hillda House on my next trip to Chiang Mai.

Good location. I'm a solo female traveler and I was completely safe walking around at night. The room was super clean. The AC was cold (although I prefer windows open). Lots of great restaurants nearby. I could easily walk to a lot of the tourist sights and night market. I was usually lazy and took a Grab scooter home for around 40 baht. I stayed here twice. Once I had the road front room 1st floor which I quite liked because of its large window and private chair on the porch. The second time I was given a room whose door opened to the lobby on the 1st floor. It was fine for a single night but there were no usable windows so no fresh air or natural light. I couldn't do it any longer than one night. They make great cappuccino and the hosts were super friendly and helpful. would definitely stay here again.

We got assigned a room on the ground floor, if you plan to wake up after 8 be aware it might be noisy as the room is in front of the common area. Unfortunately for us every morning there was a group of guests having breakfast and not very respectful, being very loud - even though there are signs everywhere to be quiet.

The location is fantastic and the hosts are the kindest, most helpful people.

I was there for almost 3 weeks and was working for a good amount of the time. There’s only a bed in the room, no chair/table and internet was a bit flaky. But for most people that’s probably a non issue and the hosts were constantly checking in on me and my needs, including the internet situation.
