Nice location, beautiful Lanna design guesthouse, staff very friendly

The owner could perhaps smile and acknowledge his customers

The Rich Lana House is a beautiful hotel filled with wooden Thai furniture and antiques, incredible ceramics, which gave it a uniquely pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool is not very big but so refreshing (in January the water was pretty cold) and in a wonderful setting of art objects and nature, an oasis of calm after walking around the city all day. The location doesn't offer breakfast but there are plenty of good places very nearby, including a small café annexed to the Lana House where they make good cappuccino and Thai tea! The location of the hotel is on the edge of the old city so an easy walk to many city attractions.

Considering the fact that the building is not recent, the plumbing became an issue in the first room we got on the ground floor, where the smell of sewer in the bathroom was pretty bad and smelled in the entire room, really. We moved to another room on the second floor with larger windows and more daylight, which was great, but the flushing of the toilet was not the best, got stuck and leaked many times. We could fix it easily ourselves but it should be sorted out by the management. Also, there should be 2 rolls of toilet paper available in the rooms, not just one. It always felt like you could run out, especially for us Westerners not used to eat all that delicious spicy food!

This was my first visit to Chiang Mai, and I feel like we were in the best possible location. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, a cool jazz bar a 5 minute walk away that pulls in a big crowd onto the street in front. It was a short walk into the historic center, and less than 10 mins by tuktuk to the large lively markets near the river where you can also find kickboxing fight nights.. The interior of the hotel was elegantly done, with lots of expensive looking wooden finishes. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. And the coffee shop in front of the hotel had excellent coffee.

That I had to leave after only a few days.

I like that it's spacious, adorned with traditional wooden furniture, very comfortable bed and pillows.. oh and I LOVE the Shower, water pressure is superb! I appreciate the staff for bringing my luggage up and down for me as mine was on the 4th floor and there was no escalator there. The pool area was amazing too!

The corridor and stairway were too dim, they need more warm lighting there as it's too difficult to see at night, maybe some relaxing music too as it can feel eerie. Mosquitoes are hiding in the nooks and crannies of the wooden furniture and wooden floor, they couldn't do much about it. You'll have to spray lemongrass insect repellant all over yourself like how you use a perfume.

Everything! The room even though it was one of the smallest, it was very comfortable and clean. Bed was huge and very comfortable and so was the shower! Toilet was really spacious too and clean. Wooden furniture was really beautiful at the room and hotel. Staff was super friendly, we arrived earlier than planned and there’s a room for luggage keeping too. Location is incredible, close to north gate, close to many temples, food night market and pickup of the red trucks that take to many places. A lot of restaurants and bars nearby. Pool was super beautiful too, but water a little cold as we were visiting during winter time. But nothing to complain about!

What a wonderful hotel. Only 12 rooms. I don't know why it isn't 4*. Such lovely decor and furniture. Spotlessly clean. Really comfortable beds and pillows. Very friendly reception staff. Very good bathrooms, powerful shower, lots of hot water and good toiletries. A safe and hairdryer in the room. We stayed in Rich Lanna House twice, first in a deluxe room on the top floor, beautiful wooden floors and furniture, and a vaulted ceiling, then in a small room on the 2nd floor. Equally as well decorated and furnished, just much smaller. A lovely pool with loungers in sun and shade. Brilliant location. There are lots of good bars and restaurants in walking distance, including the North Gate Jazz Cooperative - give it a try - and the North Gate food market. The night market is about 30 minutes walk away. There is a 7 Eleven next door. Although the hotel is on a busy road it is very quiet. One of the best hotels we've stayed in in 3 months of travelling.

Shame the hotel doesn't do breakfast but there is a coffee shop on the ground floor and several good cafes just a few minutes walk away.

It was a beautiful place. Sparkling clean and lovely old wood finishes. Staff was helpful when needed and the hotel was conveniently located. The bed and pillows were pretty comfy compared to other places we've been to so far. Daily housekeeping was appreciated but not necessarily something we needed.

The street noise was a little more than I was prepared for. In hindsight if I had done my homework I would have understood just how busy the streets are on the perimeter of the old town. Something to consider if you're a light sleeper

This property was better than I could have ever imagined for the price. The place was super cute from top to bottom. The decoration was incredible. Incredible woodwork and attention to detail. Our room had a separate tub and shower and was a good size. Everything was very clean and you could tell that the owner really cared for the property. It was our first time to Chang Mai and I don't think we could have done any better in finding a place to stay. The location along the canal was great and it was close to a good size outdoor food market that was tasty. If we ever go back I would definitely stay here.

We only were here one night for a last minute change in our schedule. We were hopping around so much so we felt like we were barely here but wish we had spent more time in the facilities/ pool. The pool was as nice as the photos look! The room was great, very cool and clean bathrooms! The room was spacious and felt more like a little apartment than a hotel room! Again, we wish we were here for more than just one night! We also grabbed a coffee before we left the next morning at the cafe, it was really good!

No complaints!

The location is good. 7-eleven is right the next door. Night market has great food. The deco is unique and beautiful. The room and common area is really spacious . The swimming pool is lovely.

All the lovely decorations are full of dust. So is the edge of room floor. The bathroom has mould on the wall and it took ages for the shower to get warm water.
