I loved this place! The staff is amazing, always helpful and attentive to anything you need. The hotel is in a great location. The room was small but perfect for me: the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and clean. I especially appreciated the sweet snacks provided to enjoy with coffee, such a nice touch. Without a doubt, if I come back to Chiang Mai, I would definitely stay here again. Also, before my arrival, they informed me there was an issue with my assigned room, but when I got there, everything was already sorted out and they had a great alternative ready for me, I didn’t have to wait at all. I would choose this place again a thousand times.

the location is absolutely amazing! there's local market, a small area night market with loads of venders selling foods, 711, laundry places, big big shabu, and a fantastic jazz bar just in five minutes walk the owner and staffs are so friendly and nice, they booked local tour for us, gave us information of delicious food, where to hang out when we want some local authentic thai cuisines, and really easy to chat with, we are so lucky to travel at chiang mai during asanha bucha day, so the owner and the staff told us if we do merit at the temple, the monks will pray for us, that's a experience we can never miss, i was so thankful for this information the room is cozy, just like our own house, and they clean the room for us every day! the price is also really fair! i'll definitely coming back next time if i'm traveling to chiang mai

Good location. Jazz cafe nearby and close to interesting lanes and stalls. Staff were super nice. Nothing was too much trouble. Got me a taxi when I left - water and other needs met. Room cleaned. Good coffee shop (two) and food at the entrance. Snacks provided when arrived and after cleaning. Chilled atmosphere.

Internet was a bit slow so used my phone and hotspotting. Next door is a hostel and weed shop with some lively music at times but it stopped at 10pm and this is just a little comment. It did not spoil my stay. Earplugs also provided. Traffic on the road not a problem. Good things far outweigh little things. x

Cute place, excellent value, friendly staff, very clean. Easy to find and orient yourself from its location next to the canal in old Chiang Mai. I arrived from the airport an hour before check-in and hoped to store my bag while I found somewhere to beat the midday heat until my room was ready; the staff pointed me to their air-conditioned common room on the second floor and it was a perfect place to wait and figure out evening plans. It was HOT hot during my stay in mid-April and the room air conditioning worked well and kept me alive :)

The only thing I can think of is that there was no hand soap in my room's bathroom. Idk why I did not bring this up to the staff at the time as I'm sure they would have given me some! I used it as an excuse to buy some nice soap from a nearby place so it all worked out.

I was very satisfied with my 4 night stay at Le Canal. Everyone at the desk was very helpful and pleasant all the time. The room was clean and cheery, despite not really having a window to look out (Only high windows for a little light). But with the heat outside, not having windows was a good thing because it allowed the AC to work well and kept the room cool. I appreciated the nice housekeeper restocking water every day. There was no breakfast included, but I purchased breakfast each day at the little cafe on the first floor beside the hotel, and it was excellent and a really good price. There was a 7-11 just a short walk away for supplies, and several restaurants very close by to choose from. It was easy for my daily tours to pick me up in front of the hotel and drop me off afterwards. There is a little "living room" on the 2nd floor for guests to use and I enjoyed sitting there and reading one afternoon; very pleasant area to sit.

I had a little rough patch at check-in because the room I was given had some problems with non-working AC and a sink issue. But the desk clerk was so helpful in resolving this, and moved me to a different room on the same floor. I was very grateful for her help in getting me moved over, and this room had an excellent AC that cooled the room well.

This is a lovely place to stay in Chiang Mai, stayed for four nights. The lady at reception was very nice, gave me all the relevant information, she even carried my backpack to the 3rd floor - that is some hospitality! Couple of coffee shops/small restaurants on the ground floor which comes in handy. The hotel is ideally located to stroll into the old town, close to the airport (10 minutes drive), near all the meeting points for organized trips outside the city. Very close to touristic attractions, restaurants, markets, bars etc. As for the room I was quite impressed as well: very clean, spacious, amazing and huge balcony to chill on three sides of the room. Will definitely stay here again when next time in Chiang Mai. Thank you, Adrian

Great little family hotel in Chiang Mai. The location is great, snacks in the room is a really nice touch and the service is very smiley. There is netflix on the TV, and though on the small side (as expected in Chiang Mai), the rooms are well equipped. I was unfortunate enough to have food poisoning for most of my stay, and despite there being no window in the room, I was comfortable enough and the hotel reception offered more than enough free water for us. The terrace view of the old wall and moat was a nice welcome back to the world! ,I enjoyed my stay. Would recommend!

The room is really loud. The pillow was a bit hard for me, and the laundry service wasn't on so we had to walk to a launderettes 10 minutes away.

My stay at le canal was one of my favourite stays out of my whole Thailand trip. The beds we’re comfy everything was spotless clean. The toilet was even amazing. The location was perfect for me inside the old town walking distance to everything. I’m currently in my next hotel wishing it was le canal boutique house. The tv with YouTube and Netflix was such a luxury too and great working wifi with a plug in hairdryer. Definitely book your stay here when in Chiang mai such a great hotel for its price- I paid €95 for 4 nights in jan

It is next to a hostel that does play music until 12/1 and 10/11 other nights I didn’t mind as I just put my ear plus in and went asleep. But if your a light sleeper maybe ask to be moved. They did say I have a quite room but my windows were facing the back of the hostel we’re the music was playing so that’s why it was loud. I wouldn’t say it was that loud!l.

Loved the location and the wonderful staff! I looked forward to the snacks every day.

I was looking for a place to stay in Chiang Mai at the last minute at the airport upon arrival as I booked in the wrong city without realizing it and came across this wonderful place on a great deal. The place is on the outside of the wall but not really an issue. Aoom, this owner commented how lucky I was as she had posted spots since some people canceled. It is a boutique hotel with a cafe and clothing store attached at the front. The cafe is great for breakfast and the coffee is nice, but I can't speak to the clothing store as it wasn't open when I was there. The staff is nice and there is a security guard at night so if you need to park a motorbike or come and go that's no issue. The owner is usually there during the day or her staff until 6pm, but she is lovely to talk to and has another location on the edge of the city as well.

I didn't have any issues as I was only there for 2 days and my standards aren't high but since it's right on a street there may be some noise at night. But she provided earplugs which was a nice touch as there might have been some construction noise but I didn't notice any. However, if you travel you should always pack a set because you never know.
