The room size is indeed what surprised us, after staying in tiny cramped rooms in Bangkok. They also had a bathtub which was a very nice touch. The amenities and the facilities are great here, and the receptionist was nice. We left our bags at the reception and went out exploring until our check-in time, and found a lot of great restaurants nearby. Catching a red taxi is easy from here, and most taxis knew the hotel and dropped us right in front of it. Walk north a bit to get to the edge of old town and enjoy the scenery near the old moat with the brick walls in the evening light.

Although situated in old town it contains nothing of that feeling. Vista feels and is built like a very corporate hotel chain. Of course that is nothing to complain about, just a fact you should consider when deciding on the vibe.

A new modern quiet hotel with large clean comfortable rooms located in the northern part of the Old City. Rooms have a balcony or terrace. The Chang Phuak Gate Night Market is a 5 mins walk and a range of restaurants can be found within a 10 mins walk. The Lanna Folklife Museum is a 5 mins walk and most temples can be reached 10-15 mins walk. The staff were helpful and attentive.

Spent 2 nights in Vista Hotel after a 2 days trek and I had a great time. Simple and spacious room, contains everything you need (AC, fridge, free bottles of water, ...). Good lighting. Very clean. Bathroom is small but was not a problem. The mirror is quite low, so it's a bit tricky if you're a tall person (but like everywhere else in Thailand). Good location and quiet neighborhood. Everything within easy walking distance (7/11, city center, nightclubs). There's a night market nearby where you can eat very well for cheap ( < 100 bath). There's also an excellent massage room just a minute's walk away. The hotel courtyard is pleasant, with a small terrace if you're a smoker. The establishment is very pleasant and I recommend it if you stay in Chiang Mai.

The doors and locking system are a bit old-fashioned and not very pleasant to use. Room insulation is not very good, and may pose a problem if you have noisy neighbors. My window overlooked the windows of the rooms opposite, so you'll need to keep your curtains closed if you want privacy.

The rooms on the third floor are lovely and spacious. It’s very clean and well laid out. It has a nice outdoor sitting area that’s away from the noise.

We did return because we like the place so much but the shower in my old room number 305 is terrible. The water pressure and amount of nozzles the water is coming out is atrocious. Also, it doesn’t get warm until 10 minutes or longer after the shower is going. My friend had to use my shower because they gave up. Just don’t get this room.

Large room, fridge, hairdryer, TV. Beds were comfortable. Located near loads of restaurants, cafes and massage places. Not noisy, could hear some noise from hallway but not too bad. Very basic room, no frills but did the job

As other reviews have noted, the bathroom did smell at night but just leave the door shut and it's fine. The cleaners come early (around 10am) so I always declined them but not a problem if you are out and about early. WiFi did cut out a lot, came back straight away but video calls were stunted by it

The hotel would seem to have been Royal Palace in the past time, with very spacious grounds and interesting buildings. One section has been fully upgraded to a very high standard.The convenient position for night markets and the old city make it ideal for exploring on foot. All together a little gem !!!!!

No breakfast but many restaurants and an amazing coffee bar "Into the woods " just 5 minutes away.

Lovely and clean with an elevator to the third floor. Big outdoor area with tables. Slightly away from the centre of town so it was nice & quiet. Rooms a great size. Staff were friendly.

My shower had about 10 strings of water coming out which apparently was acceptable however other friends had a slightly better experience. Water pressure wasn’t great either. Could do with a fan in the outside sitting area

Rooms are great. Big and well laid out. Has an elevator for the upper floors. Staff are friendly. Great location of the main road so it’s peaceful sitting out outside at the tables. Will come back again when we return.

My shower spray was pretty sparse but in other rooms apparently it was better. That’s my only complaint about the place. Would be good to have some fans in the seating area at the front.

It was the perfect location and great value for money considering proper hotel care and location. We had the deluxe room and the bed was extremely comfortable. We liked the comfort of it all so much we extended our stay ! Tea coffee and water were offered in the room as well.

The bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner.

I was impressed with the hotel. I didn't expect this quality for that little money. Wanted to stay longer, but unfortunately it was booked out.

This is not a criticism. I prefer softer beds, but the bed felt luxurious. Oh, and the hotel is not where google maps think it is. It's around the corner on the main street.
