Beautiful resort and really lovely pool villa, it was designed so beautifully. We loved the tropical planting and how well kept the grounds were each day. The staff here were really kind and helpful. Beautiful beach location, quiet and peaceful, great for families. Lovely swimming in the sea. Easy to walk along the road for meals out in the evening but the hotel food was much tastier. The main restaurant was excellent and the Italian restaurant was good also. Our villa was on the top floor which meant the pool had lots of morning sun on it and shade for the afternoon. There is no lift so wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues or small children - also big drops over the edge for toddlers!

Our shower never got really hot. We would have liked more of an evening hub for drinks, it was very quiet by the bar. Perhaps a happy hour/cocktail hour would help. The buffet looked good on Saturdays but it seemed very expensive - 1 person ticket was the same price for a family of four to eat out in the main road

Our stay at Muang Samui was incredible! The room was large, beautiful, with a lovely terrace and sitting area. It was actually half a floor of a three-storey villa, but the way the complex is built and partitioned made it feel extremely private and cozy (you could barely hear or see the neighbours). The complex has an impressive architecture, combining the traditional with the modern. They have a canal running in the middle of the two rows of villas, and pathways on each side of the rows in order to reach the beach. The hotel has its own beach, and it was easy finding sunbeds every day, as the staff was kind and accommodating and did their best to bring additional sunbeds and umbrellas when they were needed. There's also shade from the trees which are on the beach, which was great. They organized an amazing New Year's Eve dinner on the beach, with a buffet, entertainment (Thai dancing, boxing, fire show), and a prize raffle. There were fireworks as well, on the entire beach, which made the experience quite amazing. All the staff was nice, kind and did their best to make our stay as lovely as possible. The prices for the products at the beach bar were also quite reasonable. Outside the complex, you can find Thai restaurants, a very good Chinese one (Nanyuan Noodles) as well as a good cafe (Sol). The area is quieter than the busier and more touristy Fisherman Village and Chaweng, which we briefly visited only to confirm that we prefer Choeng Mon area, where Muang Samui is located. To sum up, Muang Samui ensured a lovely experience for us, during a 7-night stay including NYE. I would definitely recommend this hotel and its amazing staff.

Beautiful room and resort. The beach is great. The best private pool from all hotels we have been to in Koh Samui. The room is very large.

I didn’t like the breakfast. Not the best location in Koh samui. The street outside is not very nice.

Everything is amazing at this hotel. It is small enough yet big enough - just perfect. Our room (two separate rooms) was on the third floor with our own pool which was much bigger and deeper than we thought it would be - we loved it and spent so much time here. The main pool is also super - waterfall, ledges, enough loungers and get a great view of the beach as well. The beach is simply beautiful - shallow water which goes out a long way, loungers and staff always walking around to help with drinks orders. Breakfast and dinner and beach BBQ all fantastically delicious and the staff are just the BEST! LOVED this hotel and would recommend to all.

We are a couple with a teenager, and loved everything about our pool suite - the layout, the furnishings, the size. Very comfortable place to call home for a few days. The tub, shower and pool were just amazing. Places inside and out to lounge or eat. The staff are so personable and responsive. Very impressed with everyone we encountered, from the front of the house, food and drink servers, housekeeping, groundskeepers, all absolutely top notch. I feel like they would happily do almost anything to help their guests. The whole place had such a great vibe. Everyone just seemed to belong there together. I can see why they have such a loyal following! The food and drinks were also very good, and prices so reasonable for a 5 star resort. The breakfast was just wow! We also enjoyed all of the common areas near the beach and pool very much. The lagoon pool is lovely. So many comfy places to sit and relax. I only wish we could've stayed longer. And I wished I took advantage of activities like the yoga on the beach.

We had a wonderful holiday at the Royal Muang Samui Villas. We enjoyed the traditional style of this resort. It provides a tranquil oasis from the bustle of Chaweng, which is only a 10 minute drive away. There are great local restaurants within a short walk from the resort. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There was an excellent range of options for breakfast each day. The gardens are kept in immaculate condition.We loved the facilities of the pool villa.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. There are a few stairs to climb to access the pool villas. We saw this as part of our exercise for the day.

Loved the staff who showed so much care to us. Nothing was too much for them. They went out of their way to help and advise us. Breakfast was the best part of the day. Being vegan - chef catered to our needs 👌👌

The staff and facilities were excellent. The staff are so attentive and will happily go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The pool area is stunning and very clean. The beach is very close to the hotel and has a very good choice of bars and restaurants. There is also a good choice of places to eat and drink on the road outside the hotel. Breakfast comes with a great view and plenty of choice for both western and eastern diets. As some others have commented, there are a couple of things around the hotel which are starting to look tired but when you factor in how much this area was affected by Covid, i think its to be expected. During our stay, it was very apparent that ongoing repairs and updates are being carried out. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this hotel.

We stayed 7 nights at Royal Muang Jan 2023. Highlights of our stay were the design of the resort and staff. We stayed in a family villa - very spacious and very comforable beds - our teens loved it. No need to cook, as lots of restaurants along the beach, including the resort restaurant. 7/11 across the road handy too. The staff made this stay memorable - shout out to Lai, Zai and Sit (and other bar staff) who took their time to make us feel looked after. And to the staff who always offered to move deck chairs and umbrellas to ensure we were shaded on hot days and out of the wind on windy days. We loved our evenings at the bar, relaxing and watching the ocean. The lady who cleaned our room also did extra things like lighting mosquito coils (although we didn't see any mozzies) and the oil burner - thank you. We noticed Royal Muang was one of the only resorts on the beach who cleared the sand from rubbish (hopefully one day in the future this won't be an issue for this part of the world). We also noticed the new resorts are very much of a modern design, not thai style and we loved returning to Royal Muang becuase of this each day. We can see that maintainence has started again after COVID and look forward to seeing the resort at its best soon. The beach would have to be one of the best beaches on the island - much more relaxed than other areas too. Thanks for a great stay. We very much appreciated your hospitality,

Really loved this hotel. Wish we'd stayed longer. Staff were so attentive. The grounds were gorgeous. Room style was lovely and the large pool and beach area was great. We had a family room with private pool, which was large and comfortable. It was a good space with two young children. Breakfast was excellent. Location is superb. Would return.

Two minor points really. The room was dark - they could do with rethinking the curtains / lighting to brighten it up. The room wasn't deep cleaned before we arrived. Still had some hair and dust in the corners etc, but due to the dark wood and low light I can see why it would be easy to miss little bits.
