the place is cared for very well by a lovely crew. it offers a variety of spaces to stay for all different needs, which also means that you meet all kinds of people here. With a little café up front and different terraces in the back there's plenty of room to hang out and meet others, or to find a cozy place to yourself. I liked it so much, that I ended up extending my stay over and over again for nearly 6 weeks. Can absolutely recommend this place, especially if you want to avoid the party crowds or want to stay for an extended period of time. their offered services are also very fair and good quality.

The White Jail Hostel is amazing in every way! The facilities are super high quality with comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms and it is extra clean and nice. Most importantly, is the super friendly and helpful service provided by Yupar who runs the reception desk and the entire hostel. Yupar has a very positive vibe and can help you with any questions about your stay and about activities in beautiful Koh Tao. After traveling for over two months this was truly one of my favorite places to stay in one the most amazing destinations in the world. Highly recommend the White Jail Hostel

I liked everything about the White Jail

The position is perfect. You can reach everything in less than 10 minutes. It was very clean. There are common areas, but this hostel seems not as social as others, so expect chilling and not partying. They also offer laundry service (express if needed). They serve food if you are hungry.

The bed was uncomfortable (a bit too hard). I requested a lower bed and unfortunately, it was not available nor was offered to me to change when available.

Even in private rooms noises could be heard from the bar. When the artist was good we didn’t mind :P But in private rooms it’s not too bad and you sleep good.

The first important thing to say is that its location is good, it is close to the port of arrival to Ko Tao and you have different gastronomic offers quite close where you can eat quite well and even at a good price. You also have plenty of places to rent a scooter in case you want to do so. Regarding the facilities, they are fine, although they could have signage so that people know where the balcony is where you can go to relax. Depending on where you choose to sleep, you will have more or less noise. In my case, I chose the beds in the boxes and although it is a bit more expensive, you rest quite well. There is good storage space to leave things and the bathrooms are generally always kept clean. Regarding the staff, I could stress that they are one of the best things about the hostel, helpful and friendly. What a cool place! I heard it used to be a prison a long time ago, so it was really interesting to stay there. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It was clean and exceeded our expectations. The rooms were big and in good condition. A light breakfast is available in the mornings, and there are bars and restaurants located literally next door. The bar had loud noise, but it stopped at a decent time and didn’t bother us at all as they provided earplugs. The room was spacious, and we had a nice balcony too. Got good value for the money.

In the corner of the room with aircon set to 22 i was too hot and had no fan airflow on me. The curtain shut keep the heat in even more. Top bed is missing a side curtain so you get light come in from other people’s pods that you can’t block. Pick bottom bed if you can

it was very close to the centre of town, and it was cheap, clean and easygoing to stay at. the dorms had AC, free drinking water, free snorkels,books and balls, and the cafe out the front was convenient.

the bed was a bit hard, and if you don’t like bugs you should probably not stay here. i don’t mind bugs, but the outside showers and toilets make good hideouts for creepy crawlies

We stayed twice here, as it's so close to the pier for arriving and departing. Staff very friendly and professional. We had a private deluxe twin which was right next to reception. It's a large room, good bathroom and very clean. We walked to Sairee beach in about 20 minutes. I had read lots of reviews about noise, but maybe they don't play as loud now, anyway it stopped by 12 ish so really it didn't bother us at all. Totally recommend staying here.

The terrace was nice and spacious and they had a jenga, music from next door didn’t bother us.Room was small but we had a kettle and a working ac. The shared bathrooms were always and they had many shower cabins. Location was great everything you need including 7-eleven and scooter rentals in walking distance. Staff was nice and always friendly. Cafe infront is really yummy
