From the moment we arrived at Woodlawn Villas, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by Sunny and the wonderful team – complete with refreshing welcome drinks. We booked a garden villa for ourselves and a room in the main building for our kids. The villa was originally equipped for two, but the staff quickly provided extra kitchenware so our whole family could enjoy it together – without even needing to ask twice! Every detail was taken care of with thoughtfulness. Laundry was easily handled at reception, billed to our room, and returned smelling absolutely heavenly. We also rented scooters directly from the resort – again, seamlessly charged to our account. So convenient! One of the most touching moments was when we asked if they happened to have a specific building block game. To our surprise, they went all the way into town to buy one and surprised us with it! That level of care and kindness is rare. The free shuttle service to and from the pier, beaches, and town made getting around effortless. The swimming pool was fantastic – peaceful, clean, and shaded by umbrellas – and the staff always eager to help with anything we needed. Each morning, we woke to the soothing sound of birdsong in the tranquil surroundings – it truly felt like paradise. And on the day we left, I was brought to tears by a beautiful thank-you card and a handcrafted shell necklace gifted by reception. Such a meaningful gesture! Our stay at Woodlawn Villas was filled with unforgettable family moments, heartfelt kindness, and unmatched hospitality. Thank you, Woodlawn, for making our time on Koh Tao so magical. Absolutely nothing!!

We stayed in a single bedroom villa. Staff attended every day to change towels, make the bed and general cleaning duties. All the staff were very friendly and courteous. In fact, every Thai we met in our six week trip were pleasant. Woodlawn does not have a through road so it is very quiet and secure. The on-site pool is clean and also used by Chalok Reef Divers (SSI) for pool training. We are experienced BSAC divers and found the dive school to be very well run, safe and professional. The dive school proprietor, Lukas, did everything he could to accommodate my advancing years and a couple of decent dives before the weather closed in. There's everything you need close-by. Laundry (50Tbht/kg) at the end of the lane, food stores, restaurants (French-Ko just a few minutes walk out to Big Fish2 at the further end of Chalok).

We have stayed more than once and in different rooms. The rooms are clean, and the manager is very helpful and always willing to meet our needs quickly. The swimming pool is lovely and the surroundings are very green and quiet. Staying at the apartment was very lovely, with more privacy, and loads of space. The room in the building was quite spacious also.

Staying in the room in the building wasn't as quiet as in the apartment. The walls are thin, so we can hear the other rooms. I recommend way more staying in the apartments or bungalows.

The best stay in Thailand so far. The woodlawn resort is just beautiful! They provide a quite place with great options of accomodation. From own villas to modern Apartments, they offer a lot with good pricing. The rooms were clean, well mantained and have everything you need. We stayed in two different accomodations, both great! Service was more than five Stars, super friendly and polite, they helped us out whenever we needed something, on the Reception or chatting online, special thanks to the Manager Sunny, who was more than a Manager to us. They made us feel like bringt part of a family. Definitely rent a affordable scooter from the Same resort, easy and fast. You will need it, easy and good distances to everything with the scooter. It was great! Will come again.

Good location, lovely swimming pool, really clean modern rooms and beds especially comfortable.

Access up steep path, they do offer a shuttle service though.

We had a really lovely stay here. Khun and the team were incredibly helpful and quick to respond to anything we needed. Our room was a great size, with a comfy bed and a shower that actually had decent water pressure (which we’ve found can be rare when travelling!). The pool was also a great. Big, clean, and perfect for relaxing. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Quiet property with a lot of greenery, away from the hustle and bustle of Sairee beach. Room furniture was basic but practical, bed was super comfy with 2 sets of pillows provided. Everything was well maintained and all facilities were in full working order.

Nothing to complain really, but note that there will be no breakfast option (But there’s a cafe nearby that has amazing breakfast options) and you need a bike or the free shuttle service to get anywhere.

The tranquility of the resort, i love to sit on the spacious balcony in the morning overlooking a fantastic panorama of waving palm trees just in front of me with plenty of exotic birds in the treetops just showing off their fantastic colors.. And the rooms themselves, so comfortable, king-size bed with a good matrass, good a/c , fridge, lovely bathroom, all kept spotless clean by the marvelous staff and oh so good spirited cleaning ladies and men, love them! For me it was a little paradise and a good location from where to explore the island, with a bike.

Some people have made some comments about the rather tricky unpaved access road, I have had no problems with it, for first time bikers it might pose a little challenge..

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was considerably the nicest accommodation we have had in Thailand. The room was clean, spacious, and the resort was an amazing retreat. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The pool area was relaxing and well-maintained. Location was quiet and peaceful, just a short ride from all beaches and local restaurants.

I can’t understand some of the bad reviews for this place, the bed was the comfiest I’ve slept in for weeks, the room was modern, clean and spacious, and the staff were kind. Our ferry to Samui was at 5pm and they accommodated a later checkout, and when a storm started as we were leaving the manager helped me carry 2x heavy bags down to the transfer even though she got soaked! Would 100% stay here again
