2nd time staying here and under new management and new name but still exceptional with a few of the old staff there. The staff are super nice and can't do enough for you. I made a mistake on my booking and they couldn't refund a night but instead gave us an amazing room upgrade. Now we will want the beach room every time we go back though haha. It was great that they converted the old pool room to a co-working space and it was nice to have an air-conditioned space with very comfortable seats to work at for a change. Excellent for remote workers. The grounds and pool are beautiful There are enough beds although there are no beds directly on the beach anymore due to erosion you can still swim in the beach, we enjoyed the pool instead anyway. No screaming babies or kids bombing in the pool or touching all the food in the buffet yippee! We love adults only.. shame we might be having a baby next year but maybe we can squeeze one more holiday in when I am preggas! 😂 Recommend getting a scooter if you stay here (easy parking) - you can walk along the beach to other places but it's better to have a scooter to explore the island. Gym is good too!

Not bad just a suggestion that it needs a warning sign! 🤭 The area with the "shade" (it has a corrugated awning and staggered branches) and bean bags needs a proper warning sign, as on our first day we lay there all day thinking we were in the lovely dappled shade without sunscreen and got extremely burnt which meant we kind of ruined the next few days of our holiday cos we couldn't go out in the sun. 😅🙈 Do not make the same mistake we did! The on site spa was more expensive than London last time I looked so I didn't bother going.

Very well designed and clean. The property makes you feel like you are in a world within a world. Perfectly designed and maintained. Staff are always cleaning and working on the property to keep it up to scratch. Or room was superb and a joy to stay in. The staff were super friendly and very welcoming. I miss their smiles and greetings now that I am back home.

The beach at the priory isn’t really swimmable. The pictures of the beach on the listings are quite different to how it looks like in person.

The service from the staff was impeccable, food at breakfast was excellent. Room was clean, adequate.

The hotel is listed as a beachfront property, but it doesn't really have access to a beach, because the water comes right up to the wall at the edge of the hotel. As a result, guests would have to settle for the deck chairs, loungers in the artificial "beach" in the hotel. I appreciate that the property goes out of its way to make guests comfortable but there simply weren't enough loungers or deck chairs by the pool for all guests. By 8am in the morning, all of the chairs would be snapped up and occupied. The plunge pool in the room also does not get any sun and would be too cold to stay in for long periods of time. I recommend getting one of the other rooms instead.

Breakfast was good and liked where it was served. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The lack of sunbeds by the pool, and the constant need to get up early to secure some. The beach is non existent, and there are mostly bean bags on the sandy section of the hotel grounds with no shade which is not very appealing. We noticed the large, shallow area of the pool with the two fixed beds in the water was rarely used, and if filled in would provide more sunbed space and the best view down the pool to the sea. Equally the large shower area is a waste of valuable space for more sunbeds.

I stayed in an ocean view room, although it wasn't exactly as pictured on the website. Rather than the long pool being in the foreground, it was the roofs of the villas. It didn't bother me, but I was a little surprised. The breakfast was great. Lots of options and you could order fresh egg dishes. The omelette was lovely. The western food was pretty much the same everyday, but there was changing Asian style dishes too. The location was right on the beach, but there's not much out on the street. I should have ventured out along the beach more, but I didn't. I had a couple of spa treatments. These were lovely. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and accommodating, especially the bar and restaurant staff. If you want to do a class, get in early to book. There is a swim up bar. Daily happy hour is great and there are special meal options most nights. No influencers when I went. Plenty of deck chairs by the pool, but although there are umbrellas, you need to move your chair back to stay under them as the sun moves. Nobody reserves chairs for ridiculous times. You can order food and drink from your chair. The pizza is amazing, as we're the Thai dishes. I used the work space, which was very handy. There's a shuttle bus to Fisherman’s Village. Many pubs along Chaweng Beach show major sports. I watched AFL.

For me, the bed was rather soft, which affected my back. I didn't complain because I didn't think anything could be done. There is nowhere to go to sit in an air-conditioned space, except your room. My own issue, but I was travelling alone and of course, most people are in couples or groups, so I found out difficult to chat to people.

Had a fantastic time here for our 28th wedding anniversary. The service was outstanding all the staff were super helpful and really nice. The pool and bar are great with a very good group of bartenders. The food was also spectacular and with a wide variety. We also did a 4 hours couple spa and it was heavenly. The only issue is that the beach is very rocky in this part of Ko Samui, other than that it’s great. We have been to both Expolrars and they are both fantastic.

If you want to hang out at the beach, this is not the place the beach in this area if Ko Samui is very rocky

The staff was very kind and helpful. Food was very good. The breakfast buffet was outstanding including several local thai dishes, homemade granola and fresh coconut. Also, excellent woodfire pizza if you crave a more western snack in the afternoon. Important for friends: LGBTQ+ friendly

The staff here is very professional, patient and polite. From the moment you check in till you depart they make you feel at home. The facilities are extremely clean and spacious. They offer a variety of foods in the breakfast, for me the baked items were the best and the noodle soup was just wholesome. The hotel is a quiet one offering very calm and relaxing vibes so if you’re looking to unwind and just relax, meditate and chill this place is perfect for you. The pool has a cool bar with jazzy music playing. They have a happy hour for drinks and a golden hour too during dinner. The spa is exactly what I needed to truly relax my muscles, I came out feeling hypnotized. They have professional masseuses who know what they are doing. I really enjoyed my stay here. Thank you Explorar for a wonderful experience.
