It was okay for a couple of nights but not somewhere we’d want to spend an entire holiday. The area around the hotel is devoid of a good choice of restaurants and the beach is narrow to say the least! The strangely green seawater really didn’t entice us to swim but at least the pool was cool and clean. There is no privacy in the rooms as they open directly to the pool and sunbeds. The staff were amazing and friendly, the room clean and breakfast simple but good. After our amazing stay in Thong noi pan on Koh Phangan, nowhere was really going to come close. I doubt we’ll come back to Koh Samui. The tacky concrete chaos that has swallowed up all its beach areas detracts too much from the beach parts. Sad, but, the island will ever be what it was when I first visited in the 1989’s, before it even had an airport. :-(

Beautiful room we had the balcony sea view room on the side of the building and it was perfect. We stayed 3 nights and wish we could stay longer! Breakfast is 250THB each if you do not include it in the stay which would add up if you ate there every morning, we had breakfast once and it was brilliant, multiple cooked items for you and continental cereal & toast with refill tea, coffee and juices. The other 2 mornings we ate at the Mae Nam Village restaurant opposite and that was beautiful food, full English cooked including a juice and tea/coffee was around 165THB for a plentiful breakfast. My partner enjoyed the paddleboard provided on the beach which was fabulous!!

The location, the staff, the peace, the view from the breakfast/ restaurant area. They always gave you 2 free bottles of water every day. I needed a very strong WiFi for work and they kindly upgraded me for free to another room. I could not fault this place and will definitely go back, I miss it already, it felt like home. I would like to thank Pen the receptionist who went out of her way to accommodate me & make sure everything was perfect. Also, big thanks to Tu the girl from the restaurant/ bar ( I hope I said your name correctly.) And thanks to the lady cook ( I think her name is Pem) , all very hard working people but always smiling. I wish you all the best till next time 🙂

Nothing. I would like to just suggest to consider adding a vegetarian breakfast option to the menu. Also, a Do Not Disturb sign on the doors, if at all possible 😀

The most friendly staff I ever met :) Very open and helpful for any request. Employees really took care after me when I ended up in the hospital. They picked me up to transfer back to the hotel, provided food after the treatment and let to rest a little longer in the room before my flight. Very nice and professional attitude which I really appreciate. Atmosphere and energy of the place you stay is very important, it's good to have heartful people around you, especially if you travel solo :) Beside that - the hotel and area around are really beautiful. It's placed just in front of the beach, nice and clean pool for guests, rooms fresh and renovated, cleaned everyday. Many bars, restaurants and massages around. Actually It's not the most popular or busy area of the island but it's not a problem because with a scooter or tuk tuk, it's very easy to get anywhere you wish. I can really recommend you to stay there, Im not sure if there is even one single thing you can complain about. For me 100% satisfaction :)

Hotel: small clean complex. Very clean pool and pool area, everything around the pool has been cleand daily; there was a small stand on the beach led by the hotel with drinks (smoothies, fresh coconut, Coke). The hotel is currently under construction, so during our time in April there was a small construction site next to it, but it was not really noisy. Room: We had a room directly on the beach (we only had to walk down three steps to the beach). You could see the sea from the bed, but as the terrace was a bit higher, no one could walk right past our room and look into it; the room was simple but adequately furnished. The bathroom was large. Towels for the bathroom and for the beach were also provided. The towels were changed daily and two bottles of water were provided per day. Everything was clean. The air conditioning worked great and was not too loud. Breakfast: it is very simple (toast, jam, choice of egg and fruit). It tasted good, so you can do it, but you don't have to. There is a restaurant directly opposite where you can get a very good English breakfast at a very reasonable price. Staff: Very friendly and polite. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and you could get tips for restaurants and travel. Location: If you are looking for a quiet sandy beach, this is the perfect place. No stones on this part of the beach in front of the hotel (which looked a little different in one direction or the other). Hardly any people there, so always quiet in the evening. It was only 5 minutes to the main street, in between there are many restaurants, which were also full in the evening. Mainly German and Polish people in the area. A lot of 7-elevens around as well as restaurants as well. Recommendation: visit Bao Bao. Really nice team and amazing food. If you like coffee, there is a tiny coffee shop on the first corner from the hotel to the main road. They have a really good machine and offer Americano, Thai coffee, cappuccino and so on.

We had a pleasant week long stay at Baanfah Resort. We had a beachfront room with an absolutely stunning view. Each night we fell asleep listening to the sea. The staff were very friendly and personable. The happy hour was great, we had cocktails on the beach almost every day. The resort is located on a beautiful beach which is very swimmable. On both sides of the resort you can walk along the beach to various other restaurants and resorts. The resort is located further away from the main road, but within a 5 to 10 minute walk there is a 7 eleven. There's plenty of restaurants in the area where we had some cheap, delicious meals! There are also some western restaurants in the area. The room is cleaned daily and the towels (both for the shower and beach) are replaced daily. Even with the few negative things, we greatly enjoyed our stay at the relaxing beachfront resort!

The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast is very limited compared to European standards. The resort was very clean but there were some things that missed the finishing touches (for instance hanging cabinet doors in the breakfast/restaurant area, on one side the stairs to the beach weren't finished so you could only get to the beach via one stairway).

We really enjoyed our stay in the Baanfah Resort. The location right next to the beach is amazing, it’s perfect for people who look for a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the kitchen/bar staff did everything they could to create enjoyable holidays.

Personally, I didn’t feel comfortable in the bungalow room as it wasn’t cosy. That’s why we moved to a (more expensive) room by the pool, which was great. Also, the mattresses were pretty hard but you get used to it.

We had a wonderful stay at Baanfah Resort! Our garden-view room was very spacious, as was the bathroom, and everything was cleaned thoroughly every day. We felt completely at ease from the moment we arrived. The beach right in front of the hotel is beautiful – clean, quiet, and there are always sunbeds available, even if you come down around midday. The pool is also lovely and a great place to cool off if the sea is a bit too warm. The staff were extremely friendly and always had a smile for us. Every day we received fresh water bottles and two sets of towels – one for the bathroom and one for the beach. A truly relaxing holiday – we would definitely come back!

Right on the beach with amazing views from the pool. The breakfast was fresh and delicious with a good choice of cereal, fruit, salads, toast and cooked items. Staff are exceptional - so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect.

There weren't many sun loungers on the beach (maybe 20?) which meant that people got up early (sometimes before it was light!) to lay out their towels and "claim" a sunbed. This is fine except they often didn't occupy them until 11 or later. I would have used a lounger between 8 and 10am quite happily. I don't think you should be able to "bagsy" a lounger for the whole day. Some hotels have signs to this effect or staff will remove towels if a lounger is unoccupied for an extended period.

Nice place, I think I will choose it again if I decide to live near Mae Nam. The room we chose was on the second floor and it was kind of separated from other houses (above the breakfast area), had its own small terrace from which we could see the ocean. I liked the room, quite big, light, well furnished, air con was positioned good and didn't blow into our faces when we slept. Good location - many restaurants nearby, 7-11 not far away, clean beach, about 10 sunbeds from the resorts on the beach and finally the price - I would say it was not expensive at all for the such a nice place.

Nothing significant, I can only think about ants in the room but what was funny - they had their specific route and I never saw them in bed or in my belonging, they were hanging near the table mostly and were not interested in exploring other areas of the room :-)
