I usually don’t write reviews but I had such a lovely stay! The location is great—just a short walk to the beach and close to a few nice restaurants, which was ideal since I wasn’t riding a scooter. What really made my stay special, though, was the wonderful staff/owners. Sam, Arissa and Yannick (hope I spelled all names right) were incredibly welcoming and kind, and as a solo female traveler, I really appreciated how safe and at home they made me feel. My room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything I needed. And the pool area is beautiful, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the island!

Hotel is fantastic. The new owner Yannick, his lovely hard working Wife and Marc the Manager do a great job in running this hotel. I stayed 15-19th January in room 5 on the ground floor overlooking the lovely pool. The grounds are gardens are beautiful with a real clean, modern feel to the outside area. The room was great, lovely big bed, air con, fridge, really good Wifi, flat screen TV and a safe. Bathroom well equipped with great quality toiletries. Amazing value for money at £143.00 for 4 nights room only in high season in Samui. You can get a great English breakfast for 250 baht and eat at the side of the pool. Very relaxed, easy going atmosphere. Yannick is always laughing and joking with the guests and is the happiest guy in Thailand. I love this hotel and can highly recommend it.

There was sometimes a toilet/drain smell in the bathroom and the water took a long time to drain away after having a shower but this is very common in Thailand.

Staff Alysa the lovely thai lady was exceptional. She was so warm kind and genuine. She made us feel so welcome and tried so earnestly to help with anything we asked for. The lovely French Canadian gentleman who owns this accommodation was so open and friendly too. He too was so eager to help accommodate any requests we had. The whole place was super clean close to the beach with a great pool and delicious brekky. Location is great for a chilled out relaxing holiday. Would highly recommend.

Ampha Hotel is a true hidden gem in the Mae Nam Beach area, just 50 meters from the beach. The hotel is located on a quiet street, yet still close to the center. Our room was on the ground floor, allowing us to enjoy the Thai sun while lounging on the pool chairs. The room is spacious and well-equipped with everything you need. While the bathroom doesn’t ventilate moisture very well, the room is generally of good quality. The hotel staff is incredibly helpful. Our flight arrived early in the morning, but we were still able to check in early.

The room is quite big and the bathroom as well. The room has a view on the local pool that is quite nice and on the sea. The service is very good, room are cleaned daily or at your on pace accordingly to your needs. The location is tremendous, very close to the beach (less than 20 meters) and to the restaurant and beach facilities. The beach is one of the best in koh Samui, I can get very relaxed in this place. The place was take over in 2023 and I can see only improvements, the pool area was renovated and now it looks nicer, the fence was restored as ell so the Wi-Fi infrastructure was improved and the service is faster and more reliable. I was already in this place and I will be back when I will visit Koh Samui.

- The staff was great all around - I really liked the pool - Everything is clean and well maintained - Very close to the beach and short walk to the main road - The bed is really soft and there are 2 pillows for each which have different "hardness" so intended for you to find what is comfortable for you. For me it didn't work but I appreciate the thought put into it.

- The biggest problem is that the room was on the ground floor facing the pool. The other side of the room is next to what seems to me as a service corridor. Unfortunately there is no sound insulation in the room, so you can hear talking from the pool area very loud, as well as from the service corridor.

Everything was fine. The host equals owner was amazingly hostile and kind. He gave us all info we needed. The hotel is new after renovation. A clean beach is nearby. The location is far away from noisy streets and bars. Excellent for calm and peaceful resting.

Far away from the parties and markets. If you like activities you need to go long by taxis or bike. For someone it’s not the reason.

This hotel has a perfect location in Maenam. It’s off a small side street which means it’s very quiet at night. There’s beach access just two minutes walking from the property. And from both the front and back of the building there are nice plots of forested land which means great sunsets and sunrises. Maenam Village proper is only about 5-10 minutes walking from the hotel and there you will find some excellent cafes that are open for the early risers as well as international restaurants and any kind of shop you could need. Maenam is also still a very Thai area of the island so along the main road you’ll have tons of authentic Thai food seasoned for Thai taste, not watered down and bland for the “NO SPICY!” farang. There’s a great Jok Muu shop for the best early morning Thai breakfast as well at 1baht Chinese donuts. The property itself was also fantastic. There’s a large swimming pool with lots of seating areas around and a covered dining area. The owner is very friendly, full of suggestions about the area, and check in is very smooth. The room itself is quite large for the price point. The bed and bedding are fantastic and there’s all the things you need for a longer stay like a fridge, kettle etc. The bathroom is huge and there’s a separate shower area instead of the classic Thai water closet style. And there’s also a very large and comfortable balcony to relax and enjoy the views. I just stayed one night because it’s very close to the Lomprayah Pralarn Pier but plan on making it my new go too hotel and recommending it to friends and family. As long as he doesn’t raise the prices then I won’t even bother searching for other rooms.

No complaints at all. I’d be happier if the room was cheaper but everyone’s gotta make money and these rates still work with my budget.

Loved Ampha place so much! The staff were amazing and so helpful with everything we needed. Helped us with boats to other islands and taxis and sorted us out with a bike hire. The owner gave us a lift to the port when we were leaving! Such a lovely property. The room was so beautiful I would recommend. Great place to stay for a bit of a quiet vibe but in the centre of everything.

The staff is wonderful, giving you a nice personal touch and making the time to ensure you have everything you need. The hotel is just a minute away from the beach and the main road which will get you around the island.

There was a little tiny lizard in our room, but that's not the staff's fault. It just surprised us a little bit, but did no harm, in fact he was cute.
