Walnut House totally exceeded my expectations! After a long, freezing 14-hour bus ride from Istanbul, I finally arrived in Cappadocia, safe and sound. The host was incredibly welcoming and let us check in early with no hassle, which was a lifesaver after such a tiring journey. The moment we settled into our room, all the tiredness from the trip melted away. The place is tucked away between a spa and a restaurant, just a short walk from the bus station, shopping spots, and plenty of dining options. It doesn't really look like a typical hotel from the outside—it feels more like staying in a cozy, warm home. One of the highlights was the hot air balloon ride. The owner kindly helped us book a sunrise flight with Brothers Hot Air Balloon at a great price, and it was an amazing experience! Floating above the stunning Cappadocia landscape was like a dream come true. I really wished I could’ve stayed longer to enjoy more of their wonderful hospitality. The staff was so friendly and helpful—they made us feel right at home. If I ever visit Cappadocia again (and I definitely hope I do!), Walnut House will be my go-to spot. Overall, I had an unforgettable experience—honestly, I couldn’t find fault with anything.

Right in the heart of Göreme, a stone's throw from the bus station and incredibly peaceful. The views from the upper (enclosed and somewhat heated during winter) deck at breakfast are magnificent. Even with the frigid temperatures and driving snow, a few balloons were undeterred! I think my room was actually an upgrade, with a wonderful surprise "turkish bath," which was a heated slab of marble that felt like heaven after each long, cold-and-wet day of exploring fairy-tale landscapes through the snow, and was just as relaxing and luxurious as the hot baths I also took each morning. There are fluffy robes and towels, slippers, and a ventilation fan in the bathroom. The (hotplate) kitchenette, equipped with the basics, had heated floors...which felt amazing. The bedroom area itself wasn't directly heated (there was some residual heat from the other areas), which was actually perfect for getting a good night's rest. For breakfast they offered more delicious foodstuffs than anyone could possibly eat, with so many choices I couldn't even sample them all. And then they offer to cook up more!

I would recommend Walnut House to anyone visiting Cappadocia. They made our stay comfortable and were helpful at every stage. The rooms are spacious and clean--as was the bathroom. The traditional Turkish breakfast served here was good. In particular, I liked the view of the hot air balloons taking off into the sky from the hotel terrace. The hotel manager put us at ease and was helpful during check-in and check out. Importantly, there are other touristy places around the place. Be it restaurants, handicraft shops, ticket/tour booking centres, etc., everything is just a 5/10-minute walk away. If you are travelling during cold weather the rooms can be warm and comfortable from within.

Great location, at the bottom of town so no hill walking. Ami was our host and he was very accomodating and hospitable, nothing was a problem. I was travelling with a friend and ended up changing rooms- he found a new room for both of us (2 rooms) he booked all our tours as well. He was a friendly humble man. The room I changed to (a comfort room) was huge and very clean- it has been the best accommodation on my trip so far (4 weeks in Turkey)

The first room I booked was an economy room with 2 single beds- I was originally going to share with my friend but we decided to split. That room was small with no aircon.

Very central Goreme easy to get to from bus stop. 3 min walk. We had a deluxe room with balcony which was lovely so sit out on good view. The breakfast was brilliant great choice and all fresh very friendly happy staff thank you. Lovely view from roof top.

Unfortunately bathroom need maintenance cracked toilet seat and a bit shabby.electrics need maintenance . The front desk staff need cheering up. The poor chap was there all time even slept in reception. If you have a courtyard room there are no views.

Central. Heated flooring. Quiet. View from balcony. Comfy beds. Guy at reception was friendly and helpful albeit not very fluent in English. I do not think I overpaid though as you pretty much get what is advertised.

Breakfast VERY limited and my order of soft eggs came with both yolk and egg white undercooked. Fridge next to bed very noisy so unplugged it. I think it is a GOOD place to stay but unfortunately good=7, which would be a bit unfair to them, so giving it an 8.

The location was great, 1min walk to the bus station and about 20min walk to the Open Air Museum. Loads of restaurants and shops around, easy to walk to. The rooftop where breakfast was served had lovely views. Breakfast was typical Turkish breakfast, they also offered to cook us omelettes if we wanted which was nice. The day we checked out the staff allowed us to leave our bags there while we went on a tour. The staff were very friendly. Beds had a nice light duvet rather than just a sheet which was lovely and needed as the nights got cooler than we expected!

There isn't much negative about this place. The rooms were a bit old fashioned. The wooden headboards/beds made so much noise every time someone moved which was a bit annoying. There was also a slight musty smell in the room but with air con on you didn't really notice.

The location is very close to the centre of Goreme and one min. Away from the bus station. The staff (Ali ) was very friendly, helpful and he let us keep our luggage in the hotel in the first and last day . Also helped us to get into one of the tours in Cappadocia. The room was small but the bed was comfortable . The breakfast was delicious and has a verity of food and you can watch the air balloons while eating.The wifi was good.

I didn’t like that there was no hangers in the bathroom, nothing to hang the towels or clothing, which is very simple thing to make the bathroom more convenient . Also there was mold in the ceiling over the shower. There wasn’t enough space to put and open our carry on bags.

Loved everything about this hotel! Definitely recommend staying here. Location is in the centre or Goreme with many restaurants and shops nearby! Also, the bed is very comfortable. The owner (Ali) is so helpful and did the most for our stay! Was always there for any help we needed and he helped book our hot air balloon ride. He went the extra mile by even waking up at 5am to wake us up for our hot balloon ride in case we don't wake up. He was super kind and down to earth person. Also, hotel terrace has exceptional views of Cappadocia.

Nothing. Everything was amazing!

This hotel may be one od my favorite stays ever anywhere. The hotel is all in stone, we had a garden room with a jasnine or another fragrant shrub sending of its beautiful scents day and night. Roses in the front garden were fragrant too and we saw cute little snails crossing pathway after the rain. The room was gorgeous and clean, cozy and luxurious feeling in y opinon. Wood and hand carved with excellent hybrid mattress. We had 2 armchairs and a desk, bathroom was comfy and nicely appointed. Yhe location is literally 10/10. In the city center but one street of from the main street. In a garden and secouded, ugh i loved every minute of it. Staff was wonderful. The cleaners sweet and discreet, breakfast staff so generous asking what else we may like beyond the already rich and fresh buffer styke breakfast. Restaurant was great and ao was its terrace. But out main host was Mehmet and he was so sweet I will never forget his modest smile. He found us a great hot balloon tour last minute for a great price .. we almost gave up and thought we will not ride them. This is one of the best places we stay and Cappadocia in general is worth all the travel and cost.
