Comfortable dorms, great social hostel, fantastic rooftop. Great location near the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. Staff in the evening were lovely. Good value for money.

Rooms (dodgy curtain rails) and bathrooms (water leaking onto all the tiles after a shower) could use some more love. Was a little disappointed they initially did not put our whole group together in the 8 bed dorm we booked (we were allocated in 3 separate rooms) and told this was normal for this to happen. This was mitigated by putting us in the 14 bed dorm together however still disappointing. This did not take away from our experience however.

To be honest, at first I was not really happy with the hostel, maybe because I was tired after the whole trip, or maybe because of I used to live in a kind of European interiors. But then I changed my mind. I really liked my roommates, everybody was nice. The breakfast is more or less the same every day, but for me the portions were of good size. The girls that serve the breakfast are very positive. And the view from the terrace is just magnificent! My special thanks comes to Tugay (I hope I write it correctly) for being extremely supportive and empathetic in my difficult situation which suddenly occurred in my life and ruined my holiday, so I had to move out earlier. He made coffee for me and my friend, tried to cheer me up as much as he could, organized free transfer for me to the airport and not only. Thank you once again. I hope to see you in the future.

Superb location on Sultan Ahmed,in a small lane behind Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia. Many seafood restaurants and shopping area around. Walking distance to the old bazaar and spicer bazaar, etc there are 3 full bathrooms on the floor I stayed. Roof top terrace has a view of the sea beyond where they serve breakfast that comes with the room price.

The bed room is small for 4 beds, rusted steel trunks under the beds are not useful, one tiny wooden table and small bench, A/C unit and old fashioned heater leave little space even tighter. No cloth hanging.

I spent 2 nights in the Bauhaus hostel during my visit to Istanbul. I was greeted with a smile from Emre. all the staff are very hospitable and friendly especially Robert who was very enthusiastic to practice his English and talk with guests. He also was really helpful by helping me to book a ticket through the local bus company's rather than paying the tourist prices. I saved 400 lira as a result. We had some fun conversations about Turkish culture, music and our lives. As a taller man I struggle to fit in regular hostel beds, Tugi was very friendly and offered me alternative options. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are not crowded. There is great air conditioning and the hostel is meticulously cleaned by the cleaners. The breakfast is also great and I was able to go back for more without a problem. The Bauhaus attracts a very good crowd of young travelers and socializing and making friends is very easy. The staff are just as much my friends as the other tourists and I think they all deserve praise from their boss for the excellent service and hospitality that they provide...

The location is just about perfect. Near everything, but in a nice quiet part of the neighborhood. The staff are very friendly, spoke good English, and helped out in any way they could. The rooftop terrace is super nice, a really great place to eat breakfast and take in the view. The place has a lovely, peaceful vibe.

Breakfast was mediocre: bland eggs, some bread, veggies and fruits, and instant coffee. The toilet seat in one shared bathroom was broken and the water on its floor never drained. The reviews mentioned bar crawls but I never heard anything about this. The bar at the rooftop terrace was seldom open, yet you were not allowed to bring your own drinks there.

The location is phenomenal only a walk away from the main attractions in the old town. Yes, there are restaurants with slightly persevering hosts, but they are only doing their job, a polite negative was sufficient. Overall they were nice about their ways, it even became fun to conceive new ways to decline their approach.

It is not related to the hostel, but if you are going to spend most of your time on the Asian Side, exploring outside of Istanbul, or in the northern European side (Karakoy, Ortakoy, Taksim etc), perhaps this is not the most convenient location. But to each their own. I liked the night walks from the Tram Station back to the hostel.

The breakfast was solid. The location was pretty good if you're into old town and the mosques, although if I were to stay in Istanbul again I would probably stay in a different part of town—like somewhere farther north, across the bridge(s).

The lighting in the room was needlessly harsh...some softer lighting option(s) would be nice. The shower was lacking ventilation and as a result had a sort of mildewy smell going on... and the quality and quantity of the bedsheets, blankets, and towels left a bit to be desired if I'm being honest.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The location is excellent, conveniently situated near several key tourist attractions in Istanbul. The rooms were clean, as well as the bathrooms. The inclusive breakfast was delicious and well-balanced, making it a perfect choice. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, always open to providing recommendations and the assistance you might need.

The only aspect that was less enjoyable was the room temperature, which could be a bit chilly at times. However, overall, considering the price, this accommodation is well worth it.

Such a fun place to stay! Great view from the rooftop patio! Good vibes, the hostel is well designed to host and create a community for international travelers. Made several good connections with fellow guests. The staff was very accommodating. As two friends traveling together, we booked a private room/bathroom, and they helped to readjust our room when we arrived so we had separate beds, and they were able to book us a taxi for our red eye flight. A basic traditional Turkish breakfast was provided every morning, and it was something we looked forward to every day. If you like the night life, the host almost always something planned such as a rooftop hang out or a pub crawl. It was very centrally located with easy walking access to the trail beside the water, getting to the tram stop, and seeing the major tourist destinations.

Unfortunately, there were a few concerns: the shower in our bathroom had black mold, the wardrobe had exposed screws, and the heater in our room didn’t work. There were a few outlets that worked, and several did not, and the ones that worked were in inconvenient places. Despite these things, overall, we enjoyed our time at Bahaus! Just as a note: the hostel is only accepting payment in cash now.

Bahaus is located at the heart of the sultanahmet area . Everything is close by like 5-10 mins walk from the hostel. Very convenient if you are opting to take public transportation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager has been very helpful throughout my stay at the hostel and the hostel's terrace gatherings are something you dont want to miss for sure. Overall the hostel has a good vibe and they make sure you have a comfortable stay.
