Charming old hotel in a great location (around the corner from a main street with shops, restaurants, and a couple of small markets). Within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Basilica Cisterns. Room was very small but had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Check-in was easy, but before we were able to get to our rooms, a member of the staff was intent on getting us to sign up for tours, yet he neglected to give us basic info on Wi-Fi code, breakfast hours, etc.

The staff was amaaaazing!! They are super friendly and always there to help, there is a coffee machine where you can always take coffee or hot chocolate as much as you want. The location is really good, we almost only walked on foot everywhere. The room is cozy and nice.

The cleaning of the room included just changing the towels and throwing out the trash, nothing else. BUT the cleaning crew was external and they were super friendly, so if you talked to them, I’m sure they would do more. Also, as it is an old building, like every building in the neighbourhood, the walls are thin so you could hear people waking or talking in the hallway.

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the historic Sultanahmet district, just a short six-minute walk from both the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The surrounding area is vibrant, with numerous restaurants and a small bazaar right around the corner. The atmosphere at the hotel is warm and welcoming, with a cozy, family-run feel, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for those who appreciate a central location and authentic local charm!

That said, the traditional wooden structure makes the walls quite thin, so noise from neighboring rooms can be an issue if guests are not quiet. The breakfast is decent, but it could benefit from more variety and a richer selection.

It was a basic hotel ..why would u put the prices so high and than give discount. And make it look like a great deal. ..

No garbage basket in room, only in toilet. Telephone was not working. Wifi has some issues.

As a “greenie” traveller it was refreshing to see well-used furniture (as against stuff being dumped for new). The decor was old world, elegant with lots of memorabilia about. Umid and the staff were caring and professional. The location is fabulous situated in the historical quarter, minutes away from Sophia Mosque, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace. This hotel and many others about are squeezed into lanes (that were never meant for motor vehicles). All these laneway hotels are old homes I believe, many made of wood. Architecturally very interesting.

Needs a taxi driver to find, but once ur there, your location to things is simple.

The Sultans of Sultanahmet We had the most delightful stay at Erten Konak. “Beat the blues” brothers Kadir and Umit were exemplary hosts, bringing the most of the city to our itinerary. The hotel is a quaint piece of history, cocooned away in one of the most historic parts of this city. The gracious hosts have kept this trade a secret like a sliver of a museum. If Istanbul had to be represented historically through the section of a building-Erten Konak has achieved it with aplomb. Each floor is chock-full of things you want to take back home, retain memories in. It brings a lot of liveliness, away from the drab minimalism we are so acquainted to. For all the colours they offer, there is a range of moods and they know how to show it. They are helpful, pleasant and a joyous institution that show us that their home is ours as well. Until next time in Istanbul, this is one page from our lives journal we will never forget.

The location is very close to the major tourist attractions and also easily accessible to public transport. The hotel has a paid airport shuttle service which worked perfectly. All of the rooms are large and beautifully decorated…it is almost like a small museum. The staff were wonderful and were able to manage any of our requests. Breakfast was adequate for us. The bathrooms are clean and there is plenty of hot water. The WiFi is a bit laggy but adequate for most internet usage. There are stairs, so you need to be aware of that. Large suitcases and 3-4 floors of stairs will test people who may have bad knees.

Breakfast for a person whi cant eat milk was not the best. Half of the things contains milk so there was not a lot of food for me :) still other things were amazing. Wifi signal wasnt the greatest.

This is my honest review as i stayed in this hotel last week. I read reviews online before booking and many are lies. This hotel is just 5 min walk from Sultanahmet and tram station. You can goto grand bazar, spice bazar, hagia sofia, blue mosque,nusret, by walk aswell. We preferred walking cause our hotel was close to all things. There were cute nice street food near erten konak, grocery store and hmam services. Hotel is clean, staff and owner is really nice, humble and helping.

There is nothing that i did not like; but ill just prefer that its a 3 level building so you have to climb up stairs. For some people they prefer ground floor. So before booking the room, property should inform us about the levels.
