The hotel staff and the location were excellent. The facilities and comfort of the room were as expected for the price. Breakfast was okay, probably not ideal if you don't like egg or cheese.

The shower head was a bit broken and the doors/walls were quite thin so could hear everything between rooms. Not really an issue for me, but worth noting.

We stayed in room 402, it had an en suite and a balcony which was a lovely touch. The room was spacious and came with everything you could want inc shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer, mini fridge etc. The staff were always super friendly and happy to help. The breakfast consisted of cheese, ham, olives, bread, tomato, cucumber, either a boiled egg or omlete and a baked good of some kind often a cake; it was more than enough but ever so slightly repetitive by day 6. The hotel is located a 10 minute walk from the local tram stop, grand bazaar & the sea front with plenty of restaurant options. I would reccomend the garden 1897 restaurant if staying here! The hotel has a resident cat which was a delight every day.

The hotel staff were incredibly kind and eager to help. They gave us useful tips about the city and helped us navigate public transportation, which made our stay much easier. They also assisted with carrying our luggage up and down the stairs. It was a thoughtful gesture we really appreciated. The room was well-equipped, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Everything was clean, comfortable, and in great condition. Overall, a pleasant and smooth experience. Thank you!

The hotel is located on a steep part of the old city, so if you're arriving with heavy luggage or using public transport, it's something to keep in mind. The nearest tram stop and station are about a 7–8 minute walk away.

The main reception room was clean and comfortable with wi-fi performant. The hotel provided an excellent Turkish style breakfast every morning, including turkish coffee when requested and catering for vegetarian requirements. It was very well located within walking distance (fit active 50-something year olds) to all of the old town sites (mosques, museums, Topkapi Palace, parks, Grand Bazaar (literally at the top of the hill from the hotel)) and close access to the trams for access to the northern side of Galata Bridge, or easy access to Hagia Sofia if you don't want to walk. Local restaurants were available. Special mention must go to member of staff Murad (afternoon/early evening coverage), who was able to provide very helpful local advice in English and guidance on places to visit and eat/drink both locally and in other areas of Istanbul you may want to visit. However, all members of staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel helpfully arranged both a Bosphorous boat trip and an airport taxi for us seamlessly. The hotel is also very well positioned for being awoken by morning prayers being called from the mosques locally which adds a real sense again of being embedded in the local community.

It is worth pointing out that the hotel location is in the old town and, consequently, it is a working part of town (shoe making appears to be the dominant industry with small businesses and wholesalers shops in abundance) which appears to be being gradually renovated, particularly where new, small independent hotels like Miro are being established. It is quiet at night but comes alive in the morning and can be really bustling. We loved it though with its' sense of liveliness and weren't disturbed by the noise on the fourth floor. The street which leads up to the main east west road heading west from Sultanahmet, where you can catch the trams at Beyazit, is also fairly steep if mobility is an issue with about 200m up to the main road junction and the trams.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful, including the 2 beautiful cats! Room was clean and spacious and we could see the sea from our room which was wonderful. The breakfast spread was amazing and definitely something I looked forward to every day. 10min walk from the closest tram station but we could also easily walk to Sultanahmet area so great location.

Not a complaint but the hotel does not have elevators so just something to keep in mind before booking. The staff helped us carry our luggage to our room so wasn't a problem for us.

The hotel is located close to the center but in the area of shoes/leather production - in weekdays there’s a lot of professional garbage on the streets: pieces of leather, boxes of the shoes etc. It’s not a problem, but not as nice as it could be (on weekend it looks totally lively - clean and calm) In the room was only one problem - in the shower. Water didn’t go down to the tube, probably due to the old historical building. May be it could be fixed, I don’t why we didn’t ask the stuff to fix it 😁 and the lady who made cleaning in the room did nothing with it also. So, it was not a pleasure to take a shower in a stocked water and we had to wait long after each other before taking a shower

Staff was lovely and extremely helpful, they made us feel at home. Location is quite good, it is true that in the morning you need to go uphill for a bit, once at the top everything is close. At the evening you just take the metro to the top and easily go down to your hotel.

We booked because of the terrace/garden. It no longer exists. They covered it and feels like a room. Be aware there is no elevator and the stairs are quite steep, in europe probably they would not be up to standard

Very nice and cozy hotel in a good place, close to all old city atractions. Room are spaces, clean, owner is very supportive and friendly. There is no buffet breakfast and I read that some people call them poor but it was more than enough for us - omlet, vegetables, cheese, ham, choice of jams, etc. Maybe the breakfast place is not very cozy compare to the rest of hotel but other than this all was good. We were big group of colleagues so others paid higher price for hotels in the same area that were much worse that this one

For the most part, the staff are helpful and kind. The room was exactly as it appeared in the photos and is stocked with amenities. The breakfast is more than enough to get your day started, and the placement of the apartment is practical to see major historic sites in Sultanahmet. The neighbourhood might seem underwhelming, but it provides valuable insight into the diverse living conditions and commerce in Istanbul. There are also many very docile felines in the area, and two that you can expect to cross paths with in the hotel.

Arranging a taxi through the hotel was a nightmare. Despite specifying when we were arriving in advance, the handlers at the airport did not have a car ready. They helped others who arrived after us, and put us in a taxi that unceremoniously dropped use back at the airport immediately. It wasted our time, and hindered us from enjoying a previously booked tour. While the hotel did cover the cost of the taxi we had to find ourselves, the missed reservation was not reimbursed.

I liked it was very close to the Grand Bazaar and small plaza with lots of restaurants. The room was clean and the concierge very attentive provided us with plenty water so we wouldn’t go to the corner for it. The included breakfast was authentic and delicious.

The city is too big to have an idea of the neighborhood but for me it was a bit darker the area, even though the concierge told us it was pretty safe, but as a woman I may have the concern.
