Staff were super nice, friendly and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect, within walking distance to main historical sites as well as restaurants. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the instant coffee for breakfast, but a small drawback in an overall great stay

This is our second stay the the Side Hotel and we are certain that it won't be the last. We hadn't been back for 15 years so one never knows if things have changed in the meantime. In the best of ways, the Side Hotel is as it was years ago. Clean, comfortable and with a wonderful location...all of old Istanbul is outside your door! The staff are great with a particularly shout out to Emre and Furkan whose friendly faces greeted us warmly upon arrival and upon each return to the hotel. The substantial breakfast buffet is served on the terrace with lovely views of the Bosporus, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. WIFI and A/C worked well and we had a small refrigerator in our room. Until the next time....

Location! Location! Location! Steps away from the major sites - could walk out at sunrise, regroup, sunset - we even walked out very late for full moon photos. Hire a private guide to see the sites. The neighborhood is lovely - not as crowed as other areas but still busy. STAFF!!!! I have worked in 5 star properties in the US and would not have hesitated to have any of this staff as part of our team. Extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. The property itself is older and basic but comfortable. The bathroom is updated nicely. Rooms same size as you find in Europe if not a bit bigger. Breakfast was basic. No coffee except instant or Turkish. We walked to other neighborhoods but that’s our thing. The tramway (once you figure it out) is very convenient and easy.

Lots of construction going on next to us but we were out most days. Lack of fresh coffee (closet shop doesn’t open until 730ish).

Ive stayed in Side Hotel for 7 days, location is in the center of historical places of Istanbul, Hotel’s staff was very nice and kind to me, helped me with finding places for eating, sightseeing, shopping, with ordering foods etc. Especially I would like to mention some staff people’s names: the first is Emre was the first receptionist who greeted me, showed his great hospitality to me, told me everything about hotel rules and İstanbul, the second is Yunus Emre, this staff member who is very polite to everybody and always seeking the way to help with everything, you can absolutely count on him, because he is very responsible for his deeds and grateful person indeed, the third one is young joyful and funny member Mansur, who always finds a theme to talk about, he is very positive and pleasant man Ive ever met, as a guest I can say that he treated me like his brother with huge respect and generosity, and finally I would like to thank cooking, cleaning staff for giving me a good breakfast every day and keeping my room very clean and neatly. The location is superb, a quiet street a stone's throw from St. Sophia. Moreover, the hotel has a couple of parking spots, which was one of the main reasons to choose it. Our choice turned out to be spot on. After navigating through the curving streets of Fatih, we reached the hotel, dropped the car and headed for the main sights. But, most of all, we were impressed with the attitude of the hotel staff. Emre, Farhut, everyone, went the extra mile in making us feel well. The attitude is second to none and the main reason to choose this place for your stay.

Absolutely wonderful stay! It was very good value for money. The staff were absolutely wonderful--when I came in dehydrated and swamped from the heat, I was given water and some cookies to recover and we were always greeted with kindness when we came in! The room was a good size. There aren't many pillows in the room, but if you ask the staff they will give some. The breakfast is pretty good! Pretty basic in selection but sufficient for a start to the day. Mattresses are on the firm side but was able to sleep fine. Shower was very good! The location is perfect! Right near the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia and all the popular attractions. The windows are double glazed but you will still hear the call to prayer, but it didn't really bother us. I definitely plan to recommend this place to anyone who asks!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is 2nd to none. I stayed here with my family with young kids without any issues. The hotel was very clean and fairly quiet. Also, the hotel wifi was excellent with a strong signal throughout the hotel. All in all, we had a great stay and would highly recommend it as a great value for money place to stay.

The breakfast was good but not great as it didn't really have enough variety. Also if you wanted a decent coffee or an omelette you would have to pay extra for it.

The hotel is extremely well located for visits to Haghia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapı and the surrounding Sultanahmet area. The rooms and hotel are clean and pleasant, with a personality. There is a rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of Istanbul, where it is possible to take breakfast (but beware the seagulls). Breakfast is good and varied. The staff were nice and honest. This is one place in the "ultra-center" where as a tourist I didn't feel taken advantage of. Given the high prices in Istanbul recently, this hotel is very good value. I will come back!

No serious problem that I can remember. The room was small, but more than enough for me since I travelled alone this time. Not enough drawers to put stuff in. Stairs! I am not sure that there is an elevator, then again, not a problem for me.

I really appreciated that they solved the situation with parking the car near the hotel and it was safe all the time; their kindness and involvement to help you. Breakfast was enough and you had what to choose depending on your preferences . The attractions are very close to the hotel and a lot of restaurants around. I also liked that they arranged the room daily and changed the towels. I really liked staying here and I recommend it.

Nothing . For us it was what we expected

We booked this accomodation at 11PM after a bad experience in another hotel. We were super tired and dissapointed, but when we arrived at Side hotel, it all changed. The receptionist Emre welcomed us, comforted us after our bad experience, offered coffee, tea and made very good impression. Our room was perfect. It was a bit small with a balcony, but very comfortable. Bathroom was renovated, very modern, better than in the pictures. Cleaning was perfect. Super clean. Cleaning lady was cleaning our room daily, changing towels and making bed. The area is located right next to Hagia Sofia. We felt very safe. We appreciated good wi-fi signal and nice rooftop terrace. I will keep staying in this hotel once I come back to Istanbul.

The breakfast was a bit low quality, but for this price, we rather see it as a benefit, and we appreciated warm tea and snacks available at breakfast. As Sultanahmed is a religious area, the calling for prayer early in the morning was very loud. As we stayed in Sultanahmed, it is understandable, however if you don’t want to wake up at 4:30AM for prayer, I reccomend earplugs (earplugs fixed it).
