The strongest point of this hotel is its location. It is situated right in front of the beautiful little Agia Sophia and has a stunning terrace from which you can enjoy the sunset. The staff was very friendly. The shuttle service to and from the airport is excellent. Beds are very comfortable, and although the hotel appears old, everything is very clean.

The terrace is a bit messy: more organization and cleaning of space would really enhance its beauty. The rooms are small, and there are some details that could improve the stay of guests, such as clean and blackout curtains and some touch-ups in the bathrooms. By the way we had a good stay in this Place.

It was a great place to stay. Location is amazing- you are at the heart of Istanbul. Transport connection is great from hotel too- I was travelling a lot with public transport to other parts of Istanbul to visit my friends. Hotel was clean and quiet place to stay at all times. Hotel owner was extraordinary person- helped with everything and made me feel like at home at all times- thank you for this. Breakfast omelette was top-notch! Cat Sofia is a queen of the hotel, very friendly and beautiful cat. Overall, I would say it was a great value for money place. Of course, if you are expecting luxury, maybe you should book 5 star hotel. But for me I had all I needed in this place:)

I can’t think of anything

I had a long layover in istanbul, so i chose this property to stay overnight. It was close to all of the central attractions, only a 10-15 min walk, bed was clean an comfortable, veiw from my room was beautiful and the breakfast was made fresh and was very good. Fast wifi and fully functional AC.

The stairs are narrow and can be difficult if you have big suitcases but the host offered to give me a room on the lower level, i opted to keep my luggage in the lobby instead since i wasnt going to use it. My bags were perfectly safe!

The location was perfect. Close to the Little Sofia, several restaurants, one of the smaller bazaars. There was a good safety feature requiring a key to unlock the outer door. The people were friendly and helpful. The helped arrange a taxi to and from the airport. And there was the added bonus of a friendly cat.

This is not a bad thing, necessarily, but the hotel is an older, small boutique hotel. Some of the fixtures are older. For example, there is no elevator, which may prevent people who need one from staying. They did help carry my bag up when I checked in.

The staff were helpful and friendly and responded to my questions quickly and efficiently. Hanifi's English was excellent and so he was able to help me. The Hotel was out of the way but sooo close to all the major tourist attractions and the water front.

I really needed a map but that is partly my fault as I am old fashioned and don't like smart phones. Hanifi did have them on order they just hadn't arrived yet so I am sure everyone else will be fine 😎

Hanif (or as I called him, Honey) is a great manager. Talked me through all the trips with a map of key points of interest to see and thinks to do. He organised my laundry, let me use his kitchen to cook breakfast for my one year old and took her so many times when I needed time to do other things. He is great with children and I loved all the cats he feeds and of course the princess cat Sofia, who is the only cat allowed inside. He was a great help to me and my daughter, carrying her, helping me to work remotely in his reception and even cooked me lunch and kept my Turkish tea topped up. There is a lovely view from the rooftop and the location is right in the heart of the Blue Mosque area and next to the coastal path. Thank you Honey. X

The toilet had some damp in the corners but is expected in a hot country.

This is not 5 star hotel , nor it pretend to be. It is simple clean hotel, with very good location,10-15 minutes walking to everything of interest in old city, but located in side street away from all the tragic noise. Breakfast ale simple but sufficient. Wifi was reliable and fast ( we worked for 1 day from this hotel without problems ). Everything was clean. Great view from terrace. Plus is breafast from 8:00 AM.

Furniture is little bit dated,but that was expected in this price range. There is no elevator so hotel is not suitable for people with movement impairment. There is super cute house cat named "Sophie" that will not let you enjoy the breakfast. If you are animal lover count this as plus ;)

Beautiful view from my room over the mosque and to the sea. Huge rooftop patio with awesome photo ops for sunrise and sunset. Really friendly staff that made me feel welcome. AC in room was fast and refreshing.

Location is down the hill from the metro, so be prepared for that if you're walking which many are. Best to bring eye shades is you are sensitive to light as the room did not have blackout curtains.

We loved our stay at Sofia Corner Hotel. The family running the hotel are very friendly and helpful. Özgür greeted us when we arrived and helped us orient ourselves. Our room with sea view was very scenic, as was the rooftop terrace overlooking the Sea of Marmara. We were treated to substantial Turkish breakfast each morning with selection of salad and cheeses and a different egg dish each day such as omelette and hard boiled. The work of the hotel is supervised by the beautiful and friendly ginger cat, Queen Sofia. The surrounding area has many typical and friendly restaurants.

Great value for money, you get what you pay! Hanifi was an amazing host, very helpful. Great views from the terrace and also relaxing. This is a family business with only 11 rooms so don’t expect the services of a Hotel. You have everything needed for a budget stay just 10 minutes walk from Hagia Sophia.

The bathroom was very small. On our last night the hot water was switched off so we could not have a hot shower, but it wasn’t an issue for us. Also there were stains on our bath towels but we got them easily replaced. For breakfast please offer some sweet options too :)
