We couldn’t be happier to stay at Sokullu Hotel! It is beautiful on the inside, on the outside, and the rooms are just like mini-sultan rooms! Team was very accommodating and friendly. Our double bed was massive (just what we needed in mid-July heat!) and very comfortable. I loved the decor, it had a luxe feeling. Bathroom size and organisation was just perfect. We were a bit worried about the noise mentioned in previous comments and asked for a room in a quieter part and higher up - our room was on the second floor facing the street (which you’d think be a recipe for noise) but it was nice and peaceful at nights. Air conditioning in the room is great, does it’s job very quick. We loved to hang out in the garden and patio in the evenings and nights, amazing seating area for chilling after the heat goes down. Very kind for the team to leave some snacks and tea at the bar area. Oh and the tidyness! Housekeeping are amazing, they checked the room every day and made sure we have fresh towels if we needed them and made the bed. We were very surprised and grateful for that! Tip the housekeepers and hospitality team!

It would be great to have more fresh fruit, veg and salad at breakfast as standard everyday thing. Some days there was salad, and some days it was either savoury or sweet breakfast options. And to have Turkish yogurt everyday would be great. We got bitten by something at the swings in the garden, I believe something might live in the pillows (standard for hot country and city of stray cats; regular seats were fine) - would be nice to spray the pillows with anti-bug spray every now and then.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful.

I stayed at this hotel 33years ago and it still has the ambience. The breakfast was lovely.

Coffee at breakfast buffet wasn't as good as what is served in the lobby.

I can honestly say that from the moment we arrived to the moment we left our stay at the Sokullu Paşa was perfect, thanks in no small part to the friendliness of its staff and their eagerness to be of assistance (very big shout out here to Fırat and Mehmet whose kindness was so much appreciated). Location wise the hotel can't be beaten when it comes to access to all the major tourist attractions and decent restaurants - yes, there are hills and some of the pavements are narrow but my daughter, who was with us, is physically and mentally disabled and managed just fine with our help - but it's the hotel itself with its authentic Turkish charm (and hospitality) that won us over and how lovely it was, after a busy day of sightseeing, to return there to sit in the garden whilst listening to the music next door and just soak up the overall atmosphere. As to breakfast, there was a huge selection, with new additions every morning, and everything, without exception, was delicious. Our room, meanwhile, was massive (room 204), comfortable, and clean, and although some of the furnishings and fittings could do with a bit of attention (for example, bidet control that came off in our hands, a screen around the spa bath and shower that allowed water to escape from underneath) that only seemed to add to its charm (I'd take an authentic Ottoman building with all its history and a few minor imperfections over a modern hotel with no soul whatsoever every time). Honestly, we LOVED our stay at the Sokullu Paşa and would have zero hesitation in staying there again. İt really is a VERY special place.

The fact that we couldn't stay for longer

I stayed at the Sokullu Pasa Hotel in December, 2024, with family, and we all really enjoyed our stay here. The room was sumptuously decorated, and the private spa bath was a welcome relief after a tiring day out. The location is excellent. Although the hotel itself is located down a side street, it's within walking distance of the Hippodrome, Hagia Sofia, and the Blue Mosque. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Breakfast was included in our room rate, which was appreciated, but the selection was somewhat limited, especially in terms of hot dishes. However, we were one of the only two or three other groups staying at the hotel at the time (off-season), so it's possible that the buffet is more extensive when the hotel is at capacity. My only other criticism is that the rooms could use a few updates in terms of power sockets, etc.

The hotel is situated in the center of old city, in a small and surprisingly not busy neighborhood with just 10 min of walking from Hagya Sofia and the blue mosque as well as lots of other historical sights. The staff is cooperative and very friendly, rooms are very clean. Stable wi-Fi and good AC are the must when traveling and those were on point in this hotel. Also if you stay here, the restaurant nearby will give you a discount. Overall great service!

Some objects in the room looked kinda worn out, like basin for example. Not too bad, but maybe could use some renovation soon. Also there wasn’t first aid kit available in the hotel so if anything occurs that doesn’t call for ambulance, you’d have to get medicine yourself from the pharmacy. Good thing it’s not far from the hotel.

Loved everything about it. The staff are friendly and helpful—they organised a sunset cruise and arranged a drop-off to the airport for us. The room was good—not massive, but big enough for two people. Toiletries and water bottles are provided. Breakfast is very enjoyable. The area is safe and quiet, and the location is perfect for exploring the main attractions, all within walking distance. Lots of distance choices and supermarkets nearby.

Pillow too thik for me but that's a personal preference.

Very well located. Very friendly staff. Very nice breakfast area. (Maybe you can give more European options for breakfast especially when you have children that are not used to a similar breakfast. ( I asked for a fried egg for my sone and was told it was not possible.) Other than that everything was fresh. Daily fresh juices available.

It was a wonderful atmospheric hotel with the scent of East. The staff was polite and willing to serve in the best way. They were kind and welcoming in every way. The place where the hotel is located It was unique a breath away from all the monuments. Restaurants and cafes very close. In a quiet and safe place. The hotel and the rooms were clean and taken care of all the time. It is my first choice for Istanbul trip.

I would say the breakfast I would like more choices. Bur really I write only to write something...

We loved this location. We took a room on the top floor, with a balcony looking over the nearby mosque and the Bosphorus. It was simply idyllic. The call-to-prayer at 5.15am might annoy some, but I loved it. The room was beautiful, although the bathroom was a little odd - no walk-in shower, and bad smell from drains overnight. But these were minor issues. Bed was super comfy, breakfast was superb, and the staff were wonderful. And it was a perfect location. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Apart from the minor things with the bathroom, there was very very little not to like about this place.
