The room was attractive, comfortable & quiet. I enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel is spacious & the garden setting appealing.

The pickup from IST airport arranged by the hotel was not prompt & the woman there was not friendly or helpful. It cost 55 Euros which was expensive (considering that I organised my return to the airport myself with a local travel office for 30 Euros). This driver was both prompt & helpful. The location involves a hike up a steep hill to central Sultanamet & the footpaths are treacherous for the elderly (me). This is not the fault of the hotel of course.

This hotel goes above and beyond from the moment you arrive! There's always somebody by the door greeting you with a smile, and everyone inside are just as friendly - especially Selçuk! We had originally booked a standard double room, but he upgraded us immediately to a suite with a view at no extra cost, simply because he wanted us to enjoy our first visit to Istanbul as much as possible. He was always around for any questions we had and able to organize trips and activities easily. The room itself was also beautiful - huge, extremely clean and tidy with two balconies and tasteful decor. Cleaning staff respected any signs on the door and left the room spotless daily! The breakfast was delicious, the servers were extremely hospitable and we loved that it stays open quite late! The whole premises is stunning - a very warm and friendly home base in such a central location in Istanbul! There's also 24/7 tea, coffee and biscuits for free in the lobby - much appreciated!

Everything was perfect to be honest, no complaints. The hot water stopped working one morning (probably because of some renovations being done in another part of the hotel), but it was fixed by the time we got home. The staff are on top of everything!

Great location, really comfortable. We were given a room upgrade on arrival as the balcony room with the sea view was free. Complimentary water and teas in the room were welcome too. We ate at the restaurant several times too as it was so good. Staff were very attentive and gave a lot of advice and support. In short, a comfortable and quiet space in the heart of old istanbul, a short walk from major sites and public transport links. Would highly recommend.

Aircon wasn't very effective so got a bit stuffy at night. Also the airport transfer is about €20 more expensive than a taxi, so only worth it really if you're traveling late at night or in a big group.

The location was excellent and within easy walking distance of most major attractions - Blue Mosque etc. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had the best nights sleep during our holiday. The food in the restaurant was very good and ate there most evenings. The staff were very helpful.

The breakfast area did not always meet the same standard - they frequently ran out of glasses, bowls etc. The shower had a tendency to run cold when using and the water from the washbasin in the room was often discoloured so we were reluctant to use for teeth cleaning.

First, it’s the super helpful front desk and porters. Elvin at the front desk was exceptionally helpful. I forgot to schedule a taxi to pick us up and he organized a taxi for us within 15 minutes with very detailed instructions on where to go and etc. He answered my email, texts, and phone calls immediately; then he gave directions and recommendations on the local places to go. Porter Murad was also quick and handled our suitcases carefully. There were other people helping us throughout our stay and they were all speaking multiple languages, all were friendly and respectful. Second, the Turkish breakfast had lots of choices - fresh fruits, salads, yogurt, eggs, cheeses, various drinks, including Turkish coffee, homemade jams… Third, the hotel is surrounded by multiple eateries and sightseeing spots. The room was spacious and well decorated. Can’t wait to come back here one day.

We loved our stay here. With the hustle and bustle of some parts of Istanbul, each time we came back, it felt like home. The staff are outstanding, they enjoy their work, and you can see the passion they put into making guests stay as comfortable as possible. Particular thanks goes to Berat, who was wonderful helping throughout our stay. He managed to locate my mobile phone when i was in a complete panic. The staff attitude blends and flows through to the restaurant, which is to be highly recommended and deserves the reviews. Thank you all so much.

Nothing to not like.

This hotel boasts a very good location, putting you within easy walking distance of most major attractions. You'll find it incredibly convenient to explore the city on foot. The on-site restaurant is excellent, offering delicious meals and remaining open until 11 PM, which is perfect for late dinners. Furthermore, the staff are exceptionally helpful and polite, always willing to go the extra mile to assist you with any arrangements or requests you might have

The room was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Drinks making facilities in the room, bottle of water each day Location was very central but also quiet so best of both! Good breakfast and available from 7-10.30 which was helpful when we had an early departure. Staff were very helpful. We had stayed before but if it was your first time then make the most of the local knowledge There is a coffee machine, juice and snacks complimentary in the reception area which was a nice added bonus We opted for a balcony room because the last time we stayed we felt like the rooms were small so if this is available to you then go for the bigger rooms

It's not my first stay at the Garden House and I hope to return again. I love the neighborhood: quiet but with an easy access to historical landmarks and public transportation. The staff was superb as usual, everyone was very helpful and friendly. We were lucky to be upgraded to the room with a Turkish hammam (spa) which was a perfect way to end every day full of adventures in Istanbul and relax. Apart from a normal shower, there was also a "waterfall " shower great to relieve muscle pain after walking. Although some things in the room needed fixing, it was quite a large one with a traditional Turkish decor and a garden view. The breakfast was delicious and in the room there was a kettle with tea, so we could enjoy tea on the terrace.

The hotel is located in Sultanahmet, one of the oldest and most historical neighborhoods of Istanbul. It's five minutes walk to the Hippodrome, and the wonderful Blue Mosque, and ten minutes from the Basilica Cistern and Agia Sofia (Topkapi is not much further) - as consequence, you have the chance to immerse yourself into the history every day. Go the other direction, and the fascinating Small Agia Sofia is within 5 minutes walk: I recommend it for its peaceful gardens, and its ancient architecture. Five more minutes and you are on the Sea of Marmara. The neighborhood felt safe at all times. There are restaurants, but the hotel's restaurant seems better and it is - for the prices in the area - competitive. We were delighted by the welcome. The reception staff was consistently polite and helpful. The concierge, particularly a young man named Ahmet, are very friendly, and kind, at all times. You will also meet an older man at the door, and we were always greeted by his amiable greeting - no rain, all good. We found our room to be very clean if a bit small (I was travelling with my son, so the bed felt a bit small - it would be great for a couple). I liked the traditional furniture and loved the embroidery of the curtains and red pillows. The hall is nice and cozy, and the veranda and restaurant, in the garden, are pleasant: I liked the way tables are set. Breakfast is rich, in line with Turkish tradition - lots of vegetables, cheese, and other delicacies. We ate at the restaurant many times: it is a bit expensive if you do not pay attention, but the food choice is excellent, We tried the hot starters (honey pastry is great, loved by both of us), the lahmacun (not liked by son, I did), the baked rice pudding (loved it) and many other things. The bread which welcomes you is hot and tasty, and the complimentary pomegranate or Turkish tea with baklava is a great surprise.
