Excellent location, directly across from Union Station. I stayed for 6 nights. On the second night, there was noise from a party in the next room. Security intervened quickly but with limited effectiveness. The next morning, the front desk staff moved me to a quieter upgraded room without me even requesting it. This exceeded my expectations.

During the first days, someone frequently knocked on the door. Housekeeping came before 9 a.m., and staff came to restock the minibar. I quickly learned to keep the "Do Not Disturb" sign up whenever I was in the room, which solved the issue. In the first room, daily cleaning was excellent. In the second room, located in another wing of the hotel, the service was good but not as thorough.

I didn't realise how prestigious the Fairmont Royal York Hotel was before we arrived. I had upgraded to the Fairmont Gold Experience for our 4-night stay. From arriving at the front door to reception, and being taken to our room, it was first-class. The Fairmont Gold Lounge on the 18th Floor was a luxury well worth the upgrade, featuring a Deluxe breakfast station, Afternoon Tea, Evening Hors D'oeuvres, and Canapés, along with great city views. We made sure not to miss any of these. Bars and Restaurants are exceptional, staff are friendly and very proud of the hotel. Check out the pictures of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, who visited on 2 occasions, I believe. I have travelled overseas to many hotels, and the Fairmont Royal York is Number 1 !!

To be honest, everything was 1st Class

The breakfast was a lot more expensive than I would normally pay, but the quality of the food, the efficiency and politeness of the staff and the general ambiance of the restaurant won me over! The location of the hotel was perfect as I was using Union station every day. Overall it is a very classy hotel.

Difficult to find fault but if there was anything and it’s a minor gripe, when I came back to the room most of the lights were on and could have been for a long time as I was, generally, back in the early evening. Multiple that by 1300 rooms and potentially thats a very large extra on the electricity bill.

Breakfast was fairly okay. Unfortunately at times the toaster doesn’t work properly. The waiters at times forget to put some of the cutlery on the table. The bacon is always cold or runs out and is not refilled

When I booked with Booking.com, the cost included breakfast. But when we checked in, we were advised that the booking didn’t include breakfast. I was disappointed . The cups and glasses are not cleaned properly. They always have a terrible odour. I found it difficult drinking tea from your dirty cups and drinking from your glasses made me to feel like throwing up . When I raised it with your waiter, he didn’t like that feedback and was angry with me , but I stood my ground. He later on reluctantly changed my tea cup . I stayed at your hotel for 14 days and I expected the restaurant staff to be of good experience and character.

I have loved the Royal York since my first visit in 1964. This time I stayed from Tuesday til Sunday. I had a comfortable room (should have asked for a walk in shower) and got a great response re the stuck closet doors. The food is exquisite, the drinks, too. And the service is supreme! I looked at the ceiling over the foyer and the Clockworks bar for the first time - amazing! I’ll be back.

The bathrooms are a bit snug and I took sponge baths this time as I forgot to ask for a walk in shower. But that is my only complaint - I could have asked for a new room but I didn’t.

I loved how incredible the staff were! Their execution was precise and friendly. I was celebrating my significant other's birthday and I requested a bottle of sparkling wine and they delivered perfectly! The hotel even wrote my girlfriend a lovely birthday card, brought some of their house sparkling wine on ice and some delicious macarons. Truly spectacular service all around! Also, the building is a historic landmark in Toronto, let alone Canada. Just walking around the hotel is a treat, reading the historic plaques about the building. It's a beautiful marvel of engineering.

Just a tad pricey in my opinion. I understand this hotel is not for every class of person so if you're a casual traveller and want to stay here, definitely save for the occasion and budget.

There were a couple of initial issues checking in and with the room that were disappointing but the manager Jem was very professional and looked after things which we were appreciative of. This is a historic and very beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The lobby is stunning, particularly at Christmas time. This hotel is therefore popular with locals and tourists alike and the bars/ restaurants can get very busy. In my experience I’d recommend booking all meals in advance. The library bar did amazing cocktails and the wine bar is lovely too, this area also serves as a nice cosy spot for coffee and breakfast in the morning. The room was very comfortable, with a view of the CN tower. One of the room attendants, Dino was very friendly and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. Union station is right across the street, the subway is really easy to use, clean and inexpensive to get around the city. You’re also just a short walk away from the lake.

The hotel would benefit from opening an additional seating lounge, perhaps this would just be required at busy times for the hotel or an area reserved solely for hotel guests. When you’re a guest at a hotel you don’t expect to be turned away from the bar/ restaurant areas due to capacity constraints. There were some inconsistencies with the courtesy displayed and professionalism of staff members. I appreciate this is a very large hotel but at times it seemed like for a hotel of this calibre the overall management could have been better.

Breakfast was phenomenal,staff was exceptionally helpful! Perfect location for our intentions and proximity to the main purpose for our trip. Very accommodating to our needs when we arrived prior to actual check in.took care of our bag and messaged us when the room was ready and our bag was awaiting us in the room. I don’t think we really took advantage of all the imeneties but also didn’t take advantage of asking. My bad

Not much in your control really. A better view but being on the 14th floor I really shouldn’t expect more.the city has just grown around you. I didn’t ask what was included in the package for our stay I fear that I made a poor choice for an overnight stay. Would I make the same choice again? Very likely but maybe for a less expensive room.

Absolutely exceptional service – a true luxury experience! I had the most amazing stay at the Fairmont. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was beyond anything I expected. I simply mentioned that I was on my honeymoon, and without asking for anything, they upgraded me to a Gold room, brought chocolate-covered strawberries to my room with a bowl of fruits and wine and shared all the best tips to make our stay unforgettable. They even allowed me to check in super early — around 7 AM — which was such a lifesaver after a long flight. Shortly after settling in, they called just to make sure everything was perfect with the room. It’s the little thoughtful touches like these that made the entire experience feel so luxurious and special. Honestly, 10/10 — I’d go back in a heartbeat just for the service alone.

The staff were excellent without exception. Such a historic building to stay in, very comfortable and very convenient! I asked for a lake view and I got one, a lovely view facing the front. Very nice gym (s) too. Lovely bars, although rather too busy post-Xmas / New Year period.

The walls are a bit thin so I heard children, dogs, cleaners, other guests. Check in took about an hour, but that's because everyone wants to stay in such a historic hotel, I guess. The steam room was disappointing, way too small and you have to operate it yourself, which I wasn't expecting.
