The property is truly beautiful. And the staff are so attentive and caring. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Even iced fruit and ice creams were brought around during the day as well as a sunglasses cleaning service.

At weekends there are too many people on day passes which rather spoils the tranquility of Bab Al Shams. During our stay the adult pool swim up bar was occupied all day by a large group and all pools rather crowded. Having said that I do totally understand the need for the hotel to be utilised during the very hot summer months so my advice to couples would be “just avoid weekends where you can and enjoy the beauty and tranquility if the resort”

I booked our stay at Bab Al Shams to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday, and I can honestly say it was the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless. The check-in process was quick and easy, and we were immediately made to feel welcome by the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. What truly stood out were the thoughtful touches throughout our stay. The attention to detail in the room was beautiful, and the surprise birthday cake made it all feel that much more special. It’s clear that the team goes the extra mile to create unforgettable experiences. Bab Al Shams delivered on every level—luxury, comfort, and exceptional service. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return.

Bed is not comfortable ... too soft so you end up in a 'hole' , on top of that pillows also very uncomfortable, they had others to order from reception but even those were not great as the quality of the mattress was not good, we woke up with back pain both of us. Being a remote location only having 2 restaurants out of 4 is a bit surprising for a 5 star resort, also AC in the 2 operating restaurants was clearly not working properly.

Amazing service, breakfast, overall food - especially the sushi - and spa facilities! The room, bedding, showers are super comfortable. I did a massage and it was really great! I loved the decor with local cultural elements, is a modern-style arabic and very elegant and warm. The staff is really kind and friendly, they go above and beyond and are always smiling. I absolutely loved our stay. It was perfect for a romantic weekend but is also very fit for a family travel. Would definitely recommend and come back!

I think the only think that could improve is the activities. The complimentary camel ride is too short, and falcon show is too basic. Also, the activities prices are very high when comparing to other 5 star hotels like Anantara Qsar Al Sarab, and Al Maha. Another thing: They could serve the water in Bab Al Shams personalized acrilic or glass bottles instead of plastic, would give a more high end touch aligned with the hotel. Elegance is always in the details!

This is a truly restorative resort - beautiful spa where you can rest at the pool and watch wild camels roaming in the distance, luxurious rooms, outstanding sunsets and a pool with enough depth to swim or to rest and read a book. My favourite moment was sitting in the lounge garden at night, listening to Cafe Anatolia from the restaurant above and just enjoying the insects humming. I went for two nights and I came back feeling like I had a two week break

It was exceptionally busy and people claim their lounger at the pool at breakfast, but don’t turn up until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but maybe a policy of not claiming loungers could be implemented.

Bab Al Shams is beautiful. A stunning, tranquil oasis in the desert - the best way to spend a weekend away from the busy city life! The staff are always so accommodating. We had a super comfortable stay.

Very long breakfast queues. I wanted to order a matcha latte and was told it was chargeable - we regularly do staycations across Dubai and I have never been told I have to pay extra for a matcha before when breakfast is included. This really disappointed me, especially when it’s so expensive to stay!! We stayed for our anniversary and they knew this and even mentioned when I’d booked that they would add some special amenities for us. This never happened. Again, a very ‘Dubai’ problem but we have stayed at places that go above and beyond if you are celebrating a special occasion. We did mention this on check out and they put together a lovely gift bag for us to leave with. The restaurants and pool bar are very expensive so keep in mind!

He handled our checkout seamlessly and with a genuine smile, asking thoughtful questions about our stay and ensuring that we left with nothing but great memories. The combination of beautiful surroundings and genuinely caring staff makes Bab Al Shams a destination I would recommend without hesitation. It’s rare to find service that feels both polished and personal, and that’s exactly what Subash, Yasar, and Masud delivered. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Bab Al Shams is a stunning resort, beautifully designed with impeccable taste. The facilities are exceptional and thoughtfully curated. We originally booked a standard room, but upon arrival, the staff recommended an upgrade to one with a full balcony. We accepted the suggestion, and it truly transformed our experience, we absolutely loved it. To our surprise, the upgrade was complimentary, which was a generous and memorable gesture that left a lasting impression. It’s safe to say we’ll definitely return. Although we only stayed one night, it was enough to convince us to come back soon. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, offering an impressive variety. We arrived just 15 minutes before closing, yet the staff welcomed us warmly and allowed us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. The service throughout was excellent, and the resort offers a great selection of pools, separate areas for kids, adults, and mixed-use—as well as plenty of activities for those seeking a bit of adventure. Highly recommended.

This is an absolute gem! Staff is super helpful, approachable and kind. Lovely hotel design where you can also take some nice pictures. Lay out is great as we are not talking about a tall building, simply ground and first floor making it all quite easy to navigate on top of that feeling of having space not everything cramped up. The rooms are extremely comfortable with very good bedding, enough space for storage, very well laid out bathrooms, all the necessary amenities. One gets more bottles of water then ever needed and that is great - on top of that the hotel opts for glass over plastic bottles in the rooms which is very positive. Cleaning wise, top notch. The adult pool separated from the general pool and the dedicated kids pool are great options. The restaurants are quite good, the breakfast buffet is of top quality, the private dining experiences are also a great idea. There are various activities one can chose from and were worth doing them. The feeling of relaxation and distance from all the busy madness of the city is just great.

Nothing really. Only thing I'd consider is that there could be the replenishment of the pieces of fruit and chocolates in the room.
