The property is truly beautiful. And the staff are so attentive and caring. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Even iced fruit and ice creams were brought around during the day as well as a sunglasses cleaning service.

At weekends there are too many people on day passes which rather spoils the tranquility of Bab Al Shams. During our stay the adult pool swim up bar was occupied all day by a large group and all pools rather crowded. Having said that I do totally understand the need for the hotel to be utilised during the very hot summer months so my advice to couples would be “just avoid weekends where you can and enjoy the beauty and tranquility if the resort”

This is a truly restorative resort - beautiful spa where you can rest at the pool and watch wild camels roaming in the distance, luxurious rooms, outstanding sunsets and a pool with enough depth to swim or to rest and read a book. My favourite moment was sitting in the lounge garden at night, listening to Cafe Anatolia from the restaurant above and just enjoying the insects humming. I went for two nights and I came back feeling like I had a two week break

It was exceptionally busy and people claim their lounger at the pool at breakfast, but don’t turn up until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but maybe a policy of not claiming loungers could be implemented.

From the moment we arrived at Bab Al Shams, we were treated with the kind of hospitality that turns a visit into a lasting memory. The setting is breathtaking—a peaceful desert oasis that blends traditional Arabian charm with five-star luxury—but what truly set this experience apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff. A special mention goes to Subash, who welcomed us with warmth and professionalism, making sure every detail of our stay was perfect. His attention to our comfort and his friendly demeanor immediately made us feel at home. Yasar was incredibly attentive during our dining experience. He anticipated our needs with such grace and efficiency, ensuring that every course arrived just right and that we were always taken care of. His knowledge of the menu and recommendations added so much value to our meal. Lastly, Masud made our departure just as pleasant as our arrival. He handled our checkout seamlessly and with a genuine smile, asking thoughtful questions about our stay and ensuring that we left with nothing but great memories. The combination of beautiful surroundings and genuinely caring staff makes Bab Al Shams a destination I would recommend without hesitation. It’s rare to find service that feels both polished and personal, and that’s exactly what Subash, Yasar, and Masud delivered. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

This is an absolute gem! Staff is super helpful, approachable and kind. Lovely hotel design where you can also take some nice pictures. Lay out is great as we are not talking about a tall building, simply ground and first floor making it all quite easy to navigate on top of that feeling of having space not everything cramped up. The rooms are extremely comfortable with very good bedding, enough space for storage, very well laid out bathrooms, all the necessary amenities. One gets more bottles of water then ever needed and that is great - on top of that the hotel opts for glass over plastic bottles in the rooms which is very positive. Cleaning wise, top notch. The adult pool separated from the general pool and the dedicated kids pool are great options. The restaurants are quite good, the breakfast buffet is of top quality, the private dining experiences are also a great idea. There are various activities one can chose from and were worth doing them. The feeling of relaxation and distance from all the busy madness of the city is just great.

The restaurants on-site offered a great selection of delicious food in breathtaking settings, perfect for both romantic dinners and laid-back lunches. Bab Al Shams is a true oasis and a must-visit if you’re looking for peace, luxury, and unforgettable desert charm. Highly recommended — we will definitely be back!

Bab Al Shams is a stunning resort, beautifully designed with impeccable taste. The facilities are exceptional and thoughtfully curated. We originally booked a standard room, but upon arrival, the staff recommended an upgrade to one with a full balcony. We accepted the suggestion, and it truly transformed our experience, we absolutely loved it. To our surprise, the upgrade was complimentary, which was a generous and memorable gesture that left a lasting impression. It’s safe to say we’ll definitely return. Although we only stayed one night, it was enough to convince us to come back soon. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, offering an impressive variety. We arrived just 15 minutes before closing, yet the staff welcomed us warmly and allowed us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. The service throughout was excellent, and the resort offers a great selection of pools, separate areas for kids, adults, and mixed-use—as well as plenty of activities for those seeking a bit of adventure. Highly recommended.

We loved our garden terrace room, spacious and with a lovely view over the garden. We upgraded from a standard desert view room in arrival and much preferred the garden view. Beautiful plush bed, nice bathroom etc. Very nice and helpful staff. It was my birthday and they’d arranged a delicious mousse cake for the room. Really good gym too in a beautiful spa and hammam building

The food and drink were extortionately expensive, more so than anywhere else we’ve stayed before and we’ve stayed at lots of nice places. I’m talking $25US for a bottle of beer, $35US for a cocktail or glass of wine. Unfortunately it put us off dining at their restaurants

I recently stayed at the Bab Al Sham hotel and wanted to share this exceptional experience. The establishment offers a magnificent setting that perfectly blends traditional Arabic architecture with contemporary luxury. What particularly impressed me was the quality of service. The staff is extremely attentive and kind, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment of arrival. I must highlight the excellence of Chef Ahmed Ibrahim and his team, whose delicious and finely prepared cuisine demonstrates genuine culinary expertise in the hotel's restaurants.My wife has food allergy and the chef took time to review all dishes with us and even made some plates for my wife.When I thanked him, he simply said "that's my job and I'm delighted to do it".I would like to thank him again for his professionalism and his kindness, because he is an exceptional man. Server Amro also deserves special mention for his professionalism and kindness. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, the facilities are impeccable, and the general ambiance is filled with serenity. Bab Al Sham offers a complete hotel experience where comfort and luxury are matched only by the quality of service. An establishment I highly recommend for an unforgettable stay.

We asked to postpone our entry for the next day and it seemed to have a miss connection with Booking.com and the hotel because we arrived and they didn’t have it. The receptionist was exceptional trying to check us in asap and with no more issues. We made a reservation to dinner at their desert restaurant and when we got there they told us that they were fully booked, it seemed that there was no communication between the reception and the restaurant

We loved everything about the resort. The architecture, the unique detail, design and features of the rooms, the restaurant dining options, the adults only pool, the resort layout. It was perfect. The absolute highlight for us was each and every staff member. From groundsmen to the pool and restaurant staff and housekeeping. Everyone greeted you with a smile, a hello, and were profoundly friendly and professional. It was a stand out for us. As was our 2 special evening meals at Nineve. The food was outstanding, as were the staff and wine choices. So good we returned 2 nights in a row! Apologies we cannot remember everyones names, however Remy the concierge, Subrata and Hadith by the pool, and the divine waiters at Nineve all stand out as going the extra mile to ensure our stay was awesome. Thank you for a wonderful long weekend with you all.
