It was a fine location with everything we needed close by. The staff were outstanding without exception- polite, attentive and knowledgeable. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff did very well to accommodate our special access arrangements.

There were no dislikes as I knew where I was going and what I was in for.

Allocated same room as previous stay. Room is spacious & very clean. Ensuite facilities good but a little dated. Nice quiet room overlooking main street. Dined in restaurant in evening. Staff are so friendly & helpful. Food delicious with good portion size. Menu limited. Hotel was particularly busy with the arrival of a coach full of tourists which is always a good sign & a funeral in one of the suites.

Limited menu in the evening. Might be an idea to change the menu every few months or add more than one special to the board.

We requested early check in and they did their best to let us in the room for 12:00 so we could get to a wedding at 1pm. We arrived for breakfast at 9:10 and was told it finished at 9 but they put an order through for us which was very good of them

We chose this hotel because it was close to Sterling and was more affordable than a hotel in Sterling proper. We liked the room, though we are not disabled, we were given one. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. We liked that a restaurant was attached to the hotel, very important because there are almost no dining options available close to the hotel. We also liked the free parking adjacent to the hotel, a rarity in Scotland where parking is very limited and almost at a cost. Breakfast was very nice and copious.

Was there for a family event and due to weather arrived late. Staff were just so helpful, a special mention to Martin , a really lovely gentleman. Had breakfast and a light late evening meal in the hotel and both delicious with lots of choice. Nice bar area, so welcome when you've been on the road for over ten hours. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was decorated beautifully- bath and shower in ours.

Minor but thought the very dated hairdryer attached to the wall looked out of place but did the job. Any chance of putting a hook on the bathroom door to hang things please.

A comfortable, clean room. Exceptional restaurant with a excellent, efficient & friendly staff

The room (239) was near to the busy road and the traffic noise was evident at the busier times ie from 6am in the morning. I have stayed at Castlecary hotel twice before but both times in the row of rooms at the back of the car park and didn’t notice the traffic noise at all. Next time I may ask for a room on the ‘back tow’.

The location was great, easy to find, just off motorway. Annexe rooms are spacious with comfy bed, lovely friendly staff at reception on arrival, very helpful. Restaurant was great, good choice of food and good service. Ample free parking also.

The rooms, although spacious, would benefit from an upgrade/refresh. This was the only negative for me in what was otherwise a great stay. I would definitely use again.

The fact the bar closed at ridiculous times. One evening it closed at 9.15 with 6 guests still there the following evening there were 12 guests including some foreign tourists and it closed at 10.10 There was lights switched on and off banging of glasses and chairs moved loudly across the floor indicating the bar was closing. Spoiled the rest of what is a superb hotel which is great value for money. However I think consideration should be given to customers wishes not those of the staff.
