The staff were excellent and were so accommodating to us (we were staying with a toddler and a dog but none of the staff made us feel like an inconvenience, instead they made us feel very welcome and comfortable). The food was excellent, our room was beautiful and comfortable, everything was such a high standard. There was an issue with an unexpected charge and the staff handled it so professionally. The welcome cookie seems like a small thing but it was delicious (!) and instantly put us in a great mood when we arrived. Thanks for everything, we'll be back.

The pool was shut which was a little disappointing. That could have been made clearer when booking.

I was offered an upgrade to a junior suite for an additional charge.

Whilst the cost for the upgrade was reasonable, there was no bottledd water in the room to drink. My friend was also staying in a separate room with her dog. At reception she was handed a doggy bag which contained a can of water Very odd that you provide water for dogs but not humans!!! It's a fact that you shouldn't drink water out of a bathroom tap and even if we did, the water was cloudy. Bottled water should be provided in all rooms as standard.

Everything! The location was lovely, grounds were immaculate. We arrived early and we were permitted to have an early check in. Reception staff were so professional and welcoming. We had asked for a room with a view and were given R224 which had beautiful views over Dunblane. Comfortable bed, nice shower room, all good. Dinner was perfect, breakfast was excellent, really good quality. We had a swim and a sauna in the morning and it was all excellent. They knew it was our anniversary and we received a card and chocolates congratulating us - such lovely little touches.

All perfect.

We love the location

The room was in a poor state, it is in need off a bit of tlc. The wardrobe door was handle Broken , the wood on dressing table was in a bad state badly needing repaired look awful, there was no tea, coffee or hot chocolate on tea tray, no teaspoon either will bits of wooden sticks !! The bathroom had mould round bath and top of walls around ceiling, the extractor fan switch and around it was dirty and the bath had paint all over it. They were also decorating the hall way which was stinking of paint fumes and end up with sore head because of this. The hall was in need of a clean also stuff in floor and glass dirty. Breakfast trays still lying on floor outside rooms at lunch time even though house keeping had been round and done some of the rooms.

I thought the restaurant and the bar were presented very well and the check in staff were fantastic- lovely touch with the cookies. Very warm staff and helpful. I was also very happy with the selection of drinks and food.

I think the spa space is a little too small for the purpose it needs to serve and really should have more changing and drying facilities for the number of guests using the pool and spa area. I would suggest perhaps times where children are permitted and maybe where it was an adult only time for example to allow it to be relaxing for guests without children. The room for me was a little disappointing. For the cost that the hotel is I’d have expected it to be more clean cut and modern but carpets and furniture looked really tired and dusty. I think the hotel in general could really do with a modernisation in the spa area and the rooms in particular.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my partner and our dog, and I must say it was a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hotel was dog-friendly—our furry friend was warmly welcomed with treats at the reception, which was such a thoughtful touch. I had a special request for synthetic bedding (duvet and pillows), and the staff handled it promptly and without any issues. I’m incredibly grateful for their attentiveness and efficiency in accommodating this request. The food was another highlight of our stay. As a vegan, I often struggle to find suitable options at restaurants, but this hotel offered several delicious vegan dishes, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The decor in the hotel is a bit tired, but I can imagine how much work it would be to update such a large property. Despite this, all the facilities, including the bed and bathroom, were exactly as they should be. I prefer to focus on the positive aspects rather than nitpick minor details, and there were plenty of good elements to appreciate. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel at ease throughout our stay. One of my favourite aspects of the hotel was its spacious, dog-friendly lounges. It was so nice to relax in these areas with our dog by our side. The building itself is quite large and boasts some truly beautiful features—you just need to take a closer look to appreciate them. The architecture of the main building, the massive old doors, the stained glass at the main entrance, the stunning staircases, and the intricate details throughout the hotel all added to its charm. We had a lovely stay, and I am sure it was mostly thanks to the wonderful people who work there and do such a fantastic job. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for those travelling with pets or looking for thoughtful service and unique surroundings.

I had a lovely girlie night away with my best friend to celebrate her 40th birthday. Upon checking in we were gifted some delicious warm chocolate cookies-Devine! The room was fantastic with comfy beds, and the hotel staff added a special touch by leaving chocolates and a card for my friend—a thoughtful gesture that we really appreciated. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated, with authentic Scottish decor that added to its charm. Our room was spotless, and the bed linen was high quality, ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep. Breakfast was outstanding—plenty of variety, excellent produce, and beautifully presented. Definitely a 10/10! My only small niggle was that the leisure facilities were in a separate building. It’s just a 60-second walk, so not a big deal, but I do prefer when the spa is within the main hotel. Also, the pool felt a little cooler than I would have liked, though this may have been due to the chilly January weather. It wasn’t freezing, just slightly below my preference. These are minor points and didn’t detract from the overall experience. All in all, it was a wonderful stay with attentive staff, a stunning hotel, comfy beds, excellent facilities, and an incredible breakfast. Thank you so much!

Everything was as expected!

We had a lovely stay here. Our rooms were nice, the bed was really comfy and it was clean. The hotel looks really impressive from the grounds. The reception and bar area is well maintained. The staff were all very nice, friendly and helpful.

It was a really busy weekend which resulted in there being no parking spaces left. I went to charge my car and there was no chargers available and I noticed that 2 petrol cars were parked in the charging bays. I did raise this with the hotel but as they don't take your car number plate they couldn't do anything.

Breakfast buffet was great but we missed mushrooms! Breakfast times are good and general atmosphere was relaxed. Room was comfortable, towel storage in bathroom is lacking. Corridors decor and carpets look a bit tired in areas. Dinner in main restaurant was very nice as was the food available in the cocktail bar and lounge area. Staff throughout the hotel are all lovely, friendly, attentive and very professional.

Dogs in the hotel in general but definitely don't think that they should be in areas where you can eat, ie lounge areas. Dogs should be refined to specific areas so as not to affect non-dog owning customers.

Convenient location, nice staff, comfy bed, generally good.

Swimming pool was closed for both days. Desk cupboard door opened the wrong way so had to move a lot of the other furniture to access the kettle etc. Cups are tiny. Weird alarm clock in room but bare wire sticking out of wall above bedside table/not connected. My own metal reusable water bottle thrown away/removed from room when cleaned - why? No power sockets next to the bed despite rooms having been 'renovated' - inconvenient. Tall standard light didn't work unless main ceiling lights were turned on so couldn't use/not really sure why it was there. No transport options for anyone arriving by train - no taxis operating in Dunblane and steep climb/walk to the hotel from the station which would not be suitable for many guests, particularly if mobility is an issue.
