The staff were excellent and were so accommodating to us (we were staying with a toddler and a dog but none of the staff made us feel like an inconvenience, instead they made us feel very welcome and comfortable). The food was excellent, our room was beautiful and comfortable, everything was such a high standard. There was an issue with an unexpected charge and the staff handled it so professionally. The welcome cookie seems like a small thing but it was delicious (!) and instantly put us in a great mood when we arrived. Thanks for everything, we'll be back.

The pool was shut which was a little disappointing. That could have been made clearer when booking.

The staff absolutely make this hotel - especially the restaurant and bar staff. They were consistently welcoming and professional. If something went wrong, they apologised and put it right. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic.

The beautiful front on the hotel (the original hydro) and the grounds make the hotel look lovely, but our accommodation was in a room at the annexe at the back of the hotel, which was really ugly on the outside and very dated inside. Lack of sockets near the bed was a particular annoyance. Bathroom needed updating to make it more accessible. Overall, facilities not as good as other hotels in this chsin

The location was amazing in a beautiful area and the hotel from the outside looked amazing… the reception ladies were lovely and helpful. Clean around the hotel too. Breakfast food was really good and always available.

The young lad who served us on the first night in restaurant was pretty dismissive and looked like he wasn’t interested in his job or didn’t want to be there. The meal on the second night wasn’t great and made me feel ill as the sauce was really salty and made everything else taste rubbish. It was inconsistent because I had exactly the same meal as my partner had on the first night and it was different even the pudding looked so different too. Wasn’t happy with the mattress in room too as in one corner it was very badly stained. Have brought it to the attention of the hotel and they are reimbursing me some money so I am pleased with that.

We had an exceptional dinner in the Nick Nairn restaurant on the Friday night of our stay and all plates were empty, the food, the staff and the ambience were excellent. The bar staff in the restaurant were very friendly and even remembered our drinks order the next day. As it was my birthday celebrations they even brought of a cocktail for my birthday. The pool area was very clean the pool was a great temperature. Unfortunately I was unable to use the jacuzzi as this was monopolised by a couple of older ladies who didn't move out of it and didn't appreciate other users using it so I didn't bother. Not the hotels fault but just a bit annoying!!!!

The lift is a bit on the small side.

Our room was very comfortable and we had a wonderful view across the front lawn towards Dunblane. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the continental breakfast. It was great to be able to unwind (with our two granddaughters) in the pool after a busy day.

Our bathroom felt a bit dated. We would have preferred to have a walk-in shower instead of a steep sided bath with a shower. It surprised us that there was no pavement leading up to the hotel. If you wanted to walk into Dunblane you had to walk on the driveway. This was not great coming back after dark!

Excellent food for breakfast and dinner with excellent and very attentive service. The Haggis for breakfast was the best I've ever had in Scotland. Choices of wine to accompany the food are very good, too. Pool was excellent and surprisingly big (ca 20m length) for a Hotel. Location is fabulous residing over Dunblane with fab views to the surrounding countryside and mountains. Beautifully kept front gardens and lawns. Plenty of parking!

Rooms, corridors and room furniture a bit dated, windows dirty and drafty. But we understand that the hotel has just got a new owner and a multi-million pound refurbishment is imminent.

I was offered an upgrade to a junior suite for an additional charge.

Whilst the cost for the upgrade was reasonable, there was no bottledd water in the room to drink. My friend was also staying in a separate room with her dog. At reception she was handed a doggy bag which contained a can of water Very odd that you provide water for dogs but not humans!!! It's a fact that you shouldn't drink water out of a bathroom tap and even if we did, the water was cloudy. Bottled water should be provided in all rooms as standard.

Impressive building and grounds, with lovely communal areas making the most of the elevated view. Dinner and breakfast both delicious with a great variety of options.

Everything was fantastic except for the double room. Beds were extremely comfortable but the decor was tired and quite scruffy. The room facilities weren't to the standard expected for a highly rated hotel e.g tv wouldn't change channels. We only had half a net on the window, which was not ideal as we were on the ground floor with a constant stream of visitors going past to the car park. Had to keep the main curtains shut the whole time. A real shame because everything else about the Hydro was perfect.

Nice big room, big soft bed. Nice view. Bathroom was quite small but you managed to fit a bath in, which was better for me than just a shower. Leisure centre was very good. Good pool and gym facilities. The sauna wasn't very hot, but the steam room was. Breakfast was great, a good choice available.

The only thing I didn't like was the lighting in the room (small issue really). You can't dim the lights. The bedside lights can't be turned off ( only by switching the master switch, then you're in total darkness) , the flexible spotlights can't be turned on, and turn on the small lights above the bed and the main light comes on as well. Stupid design or installation. Had to unscrew the bulbs of the bedside lights and leave the bathroom light on with the door just open. A faff

Was very disappointed that I had to go outside of hotel to get to the pool I I would have liked to have been aware of this when booking as this was my main reason for choosing your hotel. My swimming was limited due to walk down then up again as I am disabled and afraid of falling outside. Having said all that I did otherwise have a nice week good food, clean bed pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel itself was lovely lots of places to sit and relax in and very spacious rooms.
