A lovely gem to start our NC500 journey, situated within a fairly rural area, not far from the Wallace memorial. Staff were very accommodating, we did not book evening meal, as we were not sure of our arrival time, but once there, it was no problem and food was very good.

Nothing, this was a lovely hotel in which to spend out first night in Scotland.

The hotel is lovely, located in a wonderful spot above a small, quiet town. The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were special and enchanting, and the dinner was delicious! Keep in mind there's no elevator, so you should travel light (although the staff members helped us carry our luggage). I recommend taking a walk up the hill in the afternoon, it's just a great light walk, and if you're heading toward north-east - I suggest you take the countryside road, it's charming!

The room has no blackout curtains, and the sun rises very early (around 4-5am), so I suggest taking an eye mask with you.

It was a wonderful hotel, in a beautiful location tucked away in the countryside, minutes from Stirling. Unfortunately I didn't get to fully enjoy it because I got food poisoning after the first night (not in any way related to the hotel) but there are much worse places to be ill. On the first night after checking in, we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant and then retired for a drink in the lounge...the hotel has a lovely charm and feels homely as well as luxurious. The staff are amazing and welcoming, and we genuinely felt looked after whenever we (my husband, mainly) needed anything. He dined at the hotel every night we were there and said the food was consistently good. We will absolutely be going back next year so I can actually properly enjoy the experience.

No vegan desserts (I have a dairy intolerance) Very carb heavy menu...maybe add another salad?

Amazing property and surroundings, it has real wow factor! Our room was huge, spotless and the super king bed and fan were much appreciated. Shower was huge, and nice and hot. The staff were really welcoming.

We booked a family room but unfortunately the sofa bed was so small, hard and the mattress so thin that it only would have been suitable for a small child at best and even then I’d be apprehensive about using it, so we all had to share the main bed which luckily was huge, but the mattress was not as thick as a standard mattress so it wasn’t as luxurious as it looked on first impressions. We understand this property is fairly newly taken over and is hopefully still just building up over time so we didn’t mind too much and will definitely stay again.

A birthday treat for my wife, she had always wanted to stay in a hotel with a four poster bed, big bath tub and we had the most amazing view of the hills from where the bed was positioned. Having the couches in the room too was a delight, my wife was really surprised we got this room and it was an amazing birthday treat for her. The bath tub was fabulous and one that was free standing and deep you could stay in it for hours, it was a delight.

The TV was too far away from the bed and the remote batteries did not work at times. Squeaky floor boards were a distraction when going to the bathroom during the night.

We stayed here here for three nights, we booked in and the receptionist showed us to our room, she was very helpful and polite and explained about the restaurant and the bar. The room was very clean and really warm. we ate out so i can not say what the restaurant or the bar was like or how the food was. There is a QR code down by reception that gives you some history of the hotel. The floor does creak a lot but that did not bother us much plus with the age of the hotel you have got to except the creaks or the odd pipe banging, other than that it was very peaceful at night, which is what you want when you have been out all day exploring the local area.

There was nothing that we did not like about Broomhall Castle.

Beautiful place, really friendly staff, hearty basic breakfast. Loved the authentic feeling of the building, could use a bit more care in regards to decor and tapestry :)

The window in our room didn’t open and the blinds didn’t do a good job, so at 5 it was already fully bright (could also be seen as a positive side, makes the day longer for activities). We had a car, so I’m not sure how the public transportation is, but it’s not within walking distance to Sterling.

Excellent stay. Room was large with two big double beds,.perfect for a family of 4. We also had our cockapoo. Bathroom was lovely too. Great layout with a bar, dining room and separate lounge area. Location was great too up on a hill surrounded by trees. The only reason I gave 9 stars instead of 10, is because the breakfast, although it was delicious, only had one poached egg, and could have had a better portion sizes of other items for the price paid. The kids breakfasts were a great size and great value for money. We will definitely be back. An extra bonus was the old style pac man machine that the kids loved in the bar.

I had spent Christmas here on my own and have had an absolutely wonderful time! The staff have been truly incredible—so friendly and accommodating. I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to them for making my solo Christmas feel so special. I had extended my stay and booked a small room for an extra night, and the staff gave me a free upgrade to a suite! The food is delicious. I’ve had a chance to try out everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Breakfast was included in my booking, and while I needed to pay for dinner, it has definitely been worth it. The castle and the room I’ve been staying in are beautifully maintained, spacious, clean, and full of charm and character. The facilities are excellent, and everything has been seamless throughout my stay. Never had any issues. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Broomhall Castle for making my stay—and my Christmas—so special. Your dedication and hard work, especially during your own Christmas, have not gone unnoticed and are truly appreciated.

In check in help with my luggage was offered. Room was better than expected based on the photographs. Sofa was great size and very comfortable Staff were very polite and welcoming in the restaurant

Whilst a smaller hotel and good signage some orientation on arrival would be beneficial. For example there was a QR code that once I noticed it later that evening it pulled up a great history of the building and a digital version of information usually in the room. It would have taken a minute to point out on check in There was no WiFI due to the recent storm however, this was never communicated. I made an online reservation for dinner which was not found on the system. This may have been linked to the WiFi availability however not a problem I was accommodated.
