We returned to the hotel on Eastbourne seafront, situated directly opposite the pier, after two years and were once again impressed by the overall experience. We both appreciate the hotel’s charm and particularly enjoy spending time playing pool in the bar. The bed was comfortable and warm; however, the pillows could have been of better quality. This time, we did not have a balcony with a sea view. Those rooms feel noticeably more spacious compared to the one we stayed in on this occasion. The shower pressure in this room was somewhat weak, though the temperature was excellent, allowing me to enjoy the extra hot shower I prefer. Overall, our stay was very pleasant, but I will be opting for a room with a balcony and sea view for a more spacious experience next time

It is well positioned for transport in the town centre and it it's more than a bed and breakfast but not quite a hotel. I appreciated the lift and while there was no restaurant or breakfast option it's not a problem because there are plenty of eating places a couple of minutes away. A surprise was the free wifi was only available in the lounge and while it was okay as a sole traveller I spend most evenings on the Internet in my room. Had I known it was only available in the lounge I might not have booked.

Like most places now the lighting in the internal corridor was on a detector beam and could have come on a little sooner and lasted a little longer. The hot tap in the on the basin was loose but this didn't affect its operation. Being in the building industry I'm a bit picky but hot water was absolutely scalding. While the TV worked fine I got the feeling the remote control probably needed new batteries but that's about all

The staff were helpful and friendly and the bar and lounges were welcoming. The location is great, right by the pier and a short walk to....everywhere! The room was clean and comfortable. We had opted for a family room and knew that these rooms overlooked the back (sea views are available for other size rooms if requested).....we just hadn't expected a bunk bed for the third bed, quite a challenge for three 65+ ladies but we, well one of us, conquered it!!!

There is no restaurant and therefore no breakfast offered. This didn't bother us as we prefer to eat a little later and try different places but just beware if you require B&B! The room maybe needs a little updating and there was no light switch by the beds, so you have to get up and walk to the switch by the door to turn the lights out at night. But, as complaints go, that's only a very minor one! There are no hairdryers automatically provided in the room but I think they will give you one if you ask. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms, only in the lounge downstairs, which is quite unusual these days and easily resolved by the hotel for little expense I would think.

The staff were amazing, very friendly and accommodating to us. We had access to our room an hour early, upon check in they had many leaflets to see what we could do during our trip. The location was just perfect! Hotel bar was very comfortable and had very good options! Our room was cleaned and our bed was made every day for us. Such good value for money as well we’d definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for our stay we really enjoyed ourselves

The balcony, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the cleaner in particular was very friendly. The location of the room was conveniently next to the left which helped with luggage transfer.

There were people sitting on the steps to the side entrance. They were very noisy and appeared drunk. It was very noisy at times due to them congregating outside and shouting to one another for long periods. There was scaffolding in ochre outside our balcony which wasn’t pleasant to look at and disturb the beautiful view. The hotel wasn’t staffed all the time snd there wasn’t anyone available to ask for a hand towel as no hand towel had been left in the bathroom.

The staff were so accomodating. It was a rainy night and we have to vacate the basemant property that we booked previously because I could not stay in a basement apartment. Staff reception were friendly and smiling all the time! Great entertainment with a singer most of the weeknights! Delicious full English breakfast! Great fun experience in this hotel! Thank you!

Breakfast so early 8-9! Can't barely open my eyes ! Otherwise it was a lovely and tasty breakfast !

The location is great for both the beach, pier and town centre. My single room was spacious enough with a large bathroom with good shower water pressure. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming and housekeeping was done to a very high standard. Yes the property may appear a little the worse for wear but it is an old building close to the seafront so why complain?

Only two tiny things- No hand towels or bath mats are provided unless you request a small towel at reception- not sure why?? And my room curtain could have been better as it didn’t cover the whole window.

The hotel was comfortable and clean, staff were courteous and helpful we didn’t eat in the hotel overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel showed disabled access, this only applied inside the premises the outside was accessible only by steps at either entrance. This meant my wife getting out of the wheelchair to climb the steps which was difficult and embarrassing for her. Inside the hotel the access to the room was very narrow meaning once again my wife had to get out of the wheelchair to go into the room. Our room could have done with the provision of at least a decent fan as the room was extremely hot from early morning to late evening.

Location and ease to get to our rooms - politeness of staff at all times was top and management being on-site was nice to see a familiar face too! We will be coming back :-)

We called for breakfast time but was told it was availalbe only for big events like last week's airshow - that was disappointing because it does say about breakfast on the website and, not specific to events. Neither was WIFI availalble in any of our rooms which was disappointing but we were promised there woudl be a booster in the hotel for WIFI all around for our next stay in a couple of months so looking forward to that :-)

Lovely front facing room with balcony facing the pier. Excellent food, well presented and delicious. Manager and all staff we encountered could not have been more helpful, polite and caring. Very high standard of cleanliness too.

Mini fridge would have been helpful.
