Breakfast was wonderful, huge choice. I had a room with view at the sea. I had to get used to the traffic on the Marine parade (but only the first night.) , but after about 11pm that died down, and it was usually quiet, except for some young guests from the hotel next door who were sitting outside at the front of the hotel having loud music on, luckily it usually wasn't for long, around midnight it was all quiet and all you could hear was the waves crashing onto the beach. When I stayed the weather was beautiful, and warm and I really needed the fan which was provided. It was a really small table fan. I should have asked for a bigger fan, but it was alright and did the trick. My room was on the 2nd floor and there is a lift at the hotel, albeith a really small one, in which only 2 people max with a suitcase could use it at a time. It scared the bejezus out of me, haha. So I only used the lift once when I had to get my suitcase to my room, when I checked out I used the stairs. You wouldn't get me in that lift in a hurry. LOL But all in all I had a wonderful time, and shall definitely come back to this hotel.

Location and staff were great especially the young blonde girl on reception she was very helpful.

I stayed 3 nights. 2nd day my room wasn’t cleaned at all. I had a very busy day, out and about and got back to the room that hadn’t been serviced/cleaned had to go and ask night guy for a clean towel so I could have a shower. Next day room was half cleaned. Open up bed to use and hadn’t been made. Just cover thrown over the top. I’m sure if I only stayed one night it would have had to be clean fully. So what’s going on with this? Beats me! Was disappointing! Everything else about the stay was good.

We feel this is a charming hotel if you are looking for a clean ,quiet retreat with local amenities for dining out, beach walks and the South Downs. Also very good value for money. Parking permits are available in the hotel for a third of the price of street parking charges.Location is convenient, to polite, helpful staff.A very tasty ,value for money breakfast.Best scrambled eggs. Having a bath or shower option was very much appreciated.

Room was very hot at night but if you opened the windows the street noise was disruptive to sleep.Have used the hotel before though and never had this problem so maybe there was an event that was on nearby.

It seems to be recently renovated so it’s very clean and has a polished look to it - a rare find compared to most seafront hotels. Room was small as advertised but it was clean with a comfortable single bed. I had a sea view across the roof of the lower floor of the hotel, windows could open for some fresh air but there was also an individual radiator and extra blankets if you get cold . Breakfast was good - freshly prepared but also quick and well organised. Location is good- close ish to the pier, directly on the seafront and within easy walking distance of main attractions. There is also a small lift.

Shower could be a bit more powerful

Perfect location for my reasons for staying being the sea front. The hotel is warm and welcoming and reception was fantastic checking in and out. I had a comfortable rest and enjoyed the other events I came to see including my mother who lives in the area. I had a fantastic night's sleep. I didn't get to stay for meal or breakfast this time but will try to on my next stay. I look forward to it thanks again.

Not having main door key access after a certain time.. I have a need to leave in the middle of the night if nessasary for my mothers care and needs and have always had a fob or card to access main entrances over time after a time for security reasons. I've only seen this twice and that's the same week here in Eastbourne.

I don't do breakfast so cannot comment on that facility. The hotel is immaculately clean, the staff are really very pleasant, helpful and professional. I had a single room with sea view. I stayed for just over a week and my room was thoroughly cleaned every day (I re-use my towels for conservation reasons, but they were changed on the third day). I really enjoyed getting back to my room after being out. The bed was comfortable, the linen good quality, the table perfect for working on laptop and the view of the sea was really relaxing.

Friendly and helpful staff who were happy to answer questions about parking and places to eat, booking in was straightforward and information about access in and out of the hotel clearly explained. Room was basic but very clean and well-maintained.

Very little to criticise about my stay. Only when minor irritation, due to the room have thin plasterboard walls there was a bit of noise leakage from adjacent rooms. You could hear muffled voices from telephone conversations and on one night the person next day was snoring loudly Perhaps not a place to stay if your are an exceptionally light sleeper!

Attractive building with lovely reception area. My room was comfy - bed comfy and shower pressure okay. WiFi fine. Location opposite sea is great, and it’s a very short walk to local eateries and shops including the lovely new Beacon shopping centre. Breakfast was freshly made to order - fruit salad with a good variety of fruit in like blueberries and pineapple, full English breakfast and a cafetière of coffee. There was a good variety of alternatives too. Staff were very friendly.

From the moment I checked in, I was greeted by the friendly lady at reception. Room had everything I wanted, comfy bed, great sea view. Shower was perfect to use (not fiddly like you get at some hotels!). Not far from the pier, and about a ten minute walk from the train station. I was able to drop my bag off early before check-in, with no fuss, into a secure locked room. All staff from reception lady, to the girl who served my breakfast, the cleaner I came across, and the porter guy who let me in just after midnight, were all courteous and friendly. Would definitely visit again.

I stayed 2 nights at the riviera, my room wasn't ready but I'd arrived early so went to get some eats, I ask for sea view room preferring double bed. The room was very clean bed very comfy ! Bathroom ok it was very clean but trying to get into the shower which was over the bath was a little tricky as a glass portion nr the tap ends but it was OK, water lovely n hot, kettle nice n clean plenty coffee and teas etc!

I didn't like the coffee sachets so I bought a jar of coffee, I don't think the fridge was working properly as the milk I'd brought wasn't cold when I'd taken it out. Curtains only just fitted the windows I found I couldn't shut 1 window properly, but room wasn't cold! No bottled water in room would have been nice.
