Location couldn't be better. Our room was very clean and nicely styled. Comfortable bed. Good price/quality. Beautiful building, a hotel with lots of potential. Friendly staff. Good WiFi.

Minor issues but perhaps relevant for future guests: The desk in our room was right behind our bed and it wasnt possible to fit a chair behind the desk. Hotel is only manned between 2pm and 10pm, so keep this is mind when needing parking tickets. For some reason, our room was very hot. Luckily there was a fan we could use. Bit noisy, you could hear other guests but that comes with a beautiful old building like this. Shame the common areas / cafe areas aren't used - the rooms are stunning! 🙂

Central location and friendly staff

We recently stayed for three nights and, overall, had a good experience. The location is central, making it convenient for exploring Eastbourne, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. That said, the room was quite dusty—especially around the bedside lamp, lighting fixtures, and windows—with 3–4 inches of dust in some areas. Luckily, we had brought wipes with us and were able to clean it ourselves. The heating was also on despite the warm weather, and we couldn’t switch it off from the room. However, the staff responded quickly and turned it off from the main system. Despite these issues, we appreciated the service and central location, which helped make our visit enjoyable.

The receptionist guy welcomed us as normal, however felt like he was filling in for someone else. However The gentleman we met in the morning who served us breakfast was excellent! We felt really catered for and very well received. The room had a BIG Samsung TV however was blocked from accessing the internet. Looked like it was blocked on purpose. Also though I brought my own device the internet in the building was poor. It seemed like it was struggling and made anything we was watch freeze and struggle. Beside this the room was very nice and the beds were comfortable and had everything we needed. Besides suitable internet.

Internet was very bad. It really disrupted our relaxing time to watch a movie as a family, receptionist didn’t seem bothered maybe cause he new there was nothing he could do but say he “will restart it”.

Check in was easy and the member of staff was pleasant. The bed was extremely comfortable, and my main reason for staying was to sleep, so great. Everything, except the shower, was in good condition and clean. The toilet had tape over it stating that it had been cleaned. Good water pressure in the shower. Toiletries were provide in mini bottles and a good amount of tea and coffee etc. even a biscuit! There were good thick curtains to block out the light and a table and chair, as well as a TV. Quite a small room, single, but the space was utilised well. There is a lift.

The shower fitting was broken. There were a couple of hairs on the floor of the shower, so I wiped it over with a wet wipe before using. The lighting was not great for putting on make up, there was no light above the mirror by the door and I would have like a long mirror. It was January and I couldn't work out how to put the heating on. I didn't get back till late and I don't think there were any staff around then. I couldn't get My5 on the TV to work, and some of the normal channels were missing.

The location and quality of the room given the incredible price. I could control the heating with the radiator thermostat which went instantly hot if needed. The shower was adequate and got hot. The view was good with a nice view over the pier and seafront. Both rooms we booked seemed identical in quality. The facilities were good with TV, WiFi, complimentary soaps, tea, coffee etc. There is a cheap parking permit available Staff were friendly and seemed to be available even when we got back close to midnight.

The enclosed bathroom in one of the rooms was a bit musty (but very clean!), most likely as it's not been ventilated in a while as the fan only kicks in with the light on. Minor though. Small mark on the base sheet of the bed but again not really an issue.

The manager of the hotel is fantastic! Myself and my husband unfortunately did not end up having a great time away ( nothing to do with the hotel ) we had to extend our stay and the manager allowed us to keep our same room for a few more days and was so kind to us. We felt really looked after at The Pier. We will definitely be using this hotel for our future visits. Thank you so much for your kindness!! It was really appreciated. The view was amazing from our room and the weather made is even better.

Having to leave.

The family room was amazing for the price! We opened our curtains and we were facing directly opposite the pier. There is a comfy swivel chair by one of the windows which was perfect for sitting in and watching the starlings murmurating in the evening. I have no complaints about the bedding, bathroom, or facilities, they were all great value for money. Would definitely stay here again!

The only thing that wasn't great were the mattresses on the children's beds. I was relegated to one of them as my kids wanted to sleep next to each other in the main bed (and I couldn't be bothered to argue!) and I could feel the springs. Probably not an issue if you're a dinky 5 year old, but I'm a hefty 45 year old! Ha!

Pleasant view of the pier and sea from the room window. Comfortable bed and good showering facility. Very good for my two night stay. The hotel lift was very quaint, so was useful for my third floor stay to avoid using the stairs.

Older style hotel building; However, the rooms are very clean, tidy and modern with all the basic facilities you'd expect in a hotel room. Met my needs for my short stay, so no complaints. There was very little noise, the rooms seemed quite sound-proof.

The room was very clean and in good order. Everything worked except the shaving light. There was also a fridge in the room. Very useful in hot weather. Good size wardrobe to store clothes and fan if required

My main gripe, was that there was no ‘left luggage’ facility. Because of this I had to change my travel arrangements. The double room was also on the small side

We booked a family room. Hotel was opposite the Pier. so great location for us. Only issue was the parking in the area. The hotel does not have any parking its all street parking or permit. so had to move the car several times over the weekend which wasn't ideal when i had 2 children. Although I did see when we left the hotel next door "The Queens hotel" you can pay and display there.
