Very good breakfast. Room OK. Good to see hotel used very much on Saturday evening. Location meant a taxi ride for me as it was about 25 minutes from Congress Theatre

Basic but clean room. Decent breakfast, very friendly and attentive staff.

Single room, dated and showing age, scuff marks and some stains. Bathroom very dated. Breakfast decent but small portion; laughably small sausage! Although helpful staff did ask if I wanted any more.

Corner sea view gave views of the sea but also of the street adjacent to the hotel. Also meant we got sun in the room most of the day. Original features. Decoration and furnishings very nice. Breakfast - buffet for cereals and juice then waitress service for cooked breakfast. Room positioned on 1st floor near lift as requested. No noise from lift and only minimal noise from other guests. Lovely lounge on ground floor.

Reception area is cramped and not always manned. More selection for breakfast please. Don't like cereal so would have preferred fruit and yoghurt as an option. Bathroom plumbing - temperamental. This was reported and attended to during stay. Hard pillows.

Hotel situated right on the sea front and easy walk to the pier and other amenities. Very nicely decorated and rooms were clean. Seating areas at the front of the hotel (both inside and outside) with pleasant seaviews. Breakfast was excellent although choices of uncooked food were limited to cereals and fruit juices. There is a small but adequately stocked bar. Car parking vouchers available at a reasonable price. Lift to upper floors appreciated!

Nothing really - it was good value and the reception service was very good. However I could imagine that those requiring a continental style of breakfast might be disappointed.

We booked two rooms, one for my sister in law and her husband and one for my husband and I. It was my sister in law's anniversary, we took some flowers and some prosecco and the staff very willingly put up some banners in the room. We were able to check in early and had a fantastic view of Airborne so really enjoyed the airshow and our stay. The rooms are really comfortable and the executive room was amazing. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough for the cleanliness and the staff being so friendly. Although I live in Eastbourne our evening with family was made so special by staying at the East Beach Hotel.

Booked last minute so hardly any availability and stayed in a basic room with an extra kingsize bed. The room was cosy and clean but needs some attention mainly in the bathroom. The food was very good and the staff were excellent and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again hopefully in a Seaview room but if it was a last minute booking and the only availability was a basic room then we would still stay there. The location was very good just 5 mins walk to the pier. 20 mins walk from the train station.

The bathroom needs attention,, toilet flush is a bit haphazard and the hand basin takes too long to empty and the water level is just below the draining area.

Beautiful historic building right on the sea front. Great for 4 family members to spend a nice weekend away together. If you are looking for somewhere to eat, come outside and head behind the hotel and keep going straight. You soon hit the main high street that leads you to the town centre. £1 for the bus every 10 minutes. The high street has so much to offer that ticks all the boxes. We had breakfast in the hotel which is always advisable. Starts the day right. It was filling and yummy. All staff were polite and helpful. It is a clean tidy looked after old building.

Not much air flow in the rooms. Obviously as all rooms fitted with safety windows and 'it ain't half hot mom'.. Visited on weekend where lowest temperature was 24°. They are happy to supply fans for your room which we happily accepted.

Lovely decorated hotel with a well stocked bar. Was greeted by a lovely member of staff who gave us recommendations for restaurants. Parking was easy, was given a 24 hour permit for a small charge (£2.30) and there was space outside opposite the hotel to leave the car. Breakfast was also very good! I had the full English and my partner had the vegetarian full English.

Not much at all tbh? I suppose we did not know if there was anything available in the restaurant area in the evening because there was no information or menus around. But I am sure this information would have been provided if asked. Might have preferred more softer lighting in the bedroom where the spotlights were a little bright over the bed.

The location is great, you've got the beach just across the road and it is only a short walk from the pier - amazing. The rooms look old but they are nicely decorated and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

I wouldn't order breakfast again. For that price, I would rather go out to town. The breakfast itself wasn't particularly tasty and the whole process was very disorganised. The wait was long as you needed to order everything from the waiter, including hot drinks. It would be much better and quicker to have a coffee machine or a flask with coffee that everyone could use. You make an order with one person, somebody else would bring you the food and often, it is not what you ordered. Moreover, there was always something missing. You'd ask the crew to bring more juices but when they do, there are not enough glasses and you need to wait and tell them again. This definitely should be improved.

The room was lovely, it was a good size, great decor, new curtains and matching feature wallpaper, beautiful mirrors, chandelier, 2 sinks in the bathroom, the sea view was breathtaking and worth paying extra for, we even had a sea view in the bathroom, we also paid more for a king bed. I think it had all been recently decorated with new carpet. Comfy bed, had good nights sleep. Coffee machine and fridge was a nice touch. Best thing is that I had mentioned my birthday and was given 2 free drinks tokens, that was lovely. Breakfast was lovely and besides the full English, there was a choice of about 9 cereals in dispensers, and Weetabix, also orange juice, grapefruit juice and apple juice.

There were a few stickers left on the windows that could of been removed. There is no air conditioning and would of been nice to have a fan. First morning older lady with grey hair serving, we didn't even see a menu as it wasn't on our table and when we went to sit down she said, do you want full English breakfast, we said yes as we thought that was all there was. Later we noticed menu on another table which listed the items, and we had no option of how we wanted our eggs, on which the next day we asked for poached, ( this was a man serving us) Would of liked some fruit and yoghurt option.
