•Beautiful location, its close-by all the green space Richmond has to offer as well as being right across the road from the path that leads along the riverbank straight into the town centre which has shops and restaurants to suit all. •The building is sublime; I adore classic hotels and this is certainly one. Its totally kept its Victorian charm whilst maintaining the same standards as a modern day property. •THE STAIRCASE - Apparently the tallest unsupported stone staircase in the country, its absolutely incredible; I had to stop to take it in every time I walked through. •A large car park which is free for guests. Finding hotels with car parks in and around London is difficult, let alone one of a decent size which is also free of charge - Nearing unheard of! •The staff were friendly and efficient, the hotel is clearly looked after extremely well as it was truly immaculate. •The room we stayed in (Deluxe) was very spacious, the bathroom was gorgeous and the view from the balcony was the cherry on top of the whole experience. Overall this hotel is absolutely beautiful, myself and my partner look forward to visiting again.

The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that I had to leave!

After a mix up (a fault at my end) the Front Office Manager 'Elena' stepped in and showed exemplary customer service. We have stayed at the Petersham on 3 previous occasions. We have tried other hotels in Richmond in the past but The Petersham is outstanding. Charming location with stunning views, easy parking and central London is easily accessible. I have recommended it to so many family and friends.

Our first room (a standard) had a shower over the bath. This was not easy to step in to as the side of the bath was high and when stepping out on to the floor .... slippery. Especially difficult if you are in your senior years. A few hand rails may help.

The room was lovely with a balcony and a beautiful view of field and The Thames. The restaurant was excellent. We ate there both nights of our stay and the staff, especially the Head Waiter were fantastic. The breakfast was also super good. A very large choice of hot and cold dishes, all served very professionally.

We were there during a heatwave and it would have been nice to have air conditioning as the room was very hot. However a fan was provided and with the large windows open at night the room did cool down.

Friendly helpful staff, outstanding service. We ate breakfast and dinner and enjoyed a bar snack, all excellent. The staff are very well trained and the atmosphere they create is everything you want from a top class hotel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, there was always a member of staff on hand to assist with all your needs. The location was wonderful, sitting in the bar, overlooking the river was wonderful. Close enough for a short walk down the river to Richmond town and shops but far enough away to be quite and peaceful.

The bathroom was very small and I would have thought a walk in shower rather than shower over the bath would have sorted the issue. Lack of handrails as if you are on the mature side of life like us it's not so easy to climb in and out of an overbath shower!

We really liked the location to be able to have a pleasant walk along the Thames into Richmond. Also there was a 65 bus stop very close to go to Kew,Gardens.

When it came to paying at the end of our stay it became clear that the accommodation cost was not the same for every night the 2nd and 3rd night was £55 more than the 1st night it was explained to us that this was in answer to greater demand for the more expensive nights. We were also confronted with an optional service charge of 3% for each night which we paid but which we found unusual.

Beautiful view from the terrace and easy access to the 65 bus to take us to the station and restaurants. Free car parking. Nicely decorated room and lovely shower room, with huge shower and two sinks. Air con was quiet and we could also open the windows.

The bed was very hard. Surely a more medium mattress could be used for this standard of hotel? Put a proper hinge on the door from the bar to the terrace so it does not bang every time someone goes in and out.

The bed was amazing,big,spacious and comfy. Toilet was awful,like children’s toilet,low to floor and cramped bath.. Bland shower gels and soaps for price of hotel.water in hand sanitizer and no smell to anything,apart from drain smell in our room

The fact that the petersham have temp charged us £885 for two night stay,as they have put a £500 hold deposit on top our final bill,which we now cannot use until hold is removed.Contacted bank who states that it’s the hotel who times the hold…£36 for two whiskey sour single,also extortionate

It’s position was superb and not only gave us great views to look at but was close enough to walk along the river thank/path as well as into Richmond. The bedroom on the ground floor was a comfortable and a great help as both of us were having mobility difficulties.

Initially We were put into a back bedroom on the first floor which was dark, small making it hard for us to get around it. It had no drawers or shelves to put clothes like underwear or jersey’s in a very small table with hard chairs. I booked a superior room and I was expecting and needing space, light and comfortable chairs! I spoke to Yorden I think deputy receptionist manager and he managed to find us a much better room on the ground floor. We also got confused as to when we could go into the bar for both food and drinks.

If you’re looking for a special experience, then this is the place to stay. The venue has hosted many famous people. Located on the side of Richmond Hill, the view from the restaurant is extraordinary and is protected by an Act of Parliament. Lovely quiet location within an easy walk along the river to Richmond. The room was lovely and the staff very professional and helpful. There is lovely common area, and the restaurant is exceptional. If you are looking for a special accommodation, then we highly recommend The Petersham.

I can’t fault the venue, but be aware that the gratuities are built into the bill so there is a built-in gratuity on the restaurant charge and then another voluntary gratuity for the bar staff on the bill (we had breakfast so chose to remove this charge). Other voluntary gratuities include reception and housekeeping, which were both excellent.

Room was fine - it was during the heat wave and we missed now having air conditioning, but there was a fan which worked well and our room had a wonderful view of fields and The Thames with a lovely balcony so we felt fresh even when it was over 30C. The head waiter at the restaurant was excellent. We ate there twice and had delicious food. Also the breakfast was exceptionally good.

Everything was fine.
