Lovely welcoming staff. Beautiful location.

The rooms were nice but the housekeeping should go the extra mile and dust above the headboards. They were super dusty and left that uncomfortable feeling when you don't feel completely relaxed due to cleanliness in the room.

The location is perfect—close to the park, excellent specialty coffee spots, and downtown. The hotel ambiance is beautiful, reminiscent of a small luxury villa, making the stay feel cozy and elegant. The room was clean, but smaller than expected for the price paid. We were asked to pay for an additional room because the one we booked couldn’t accommodate our family. Overall, it was a good experience thanks to the lovely setting and location, but the small room sizes are something to keep in mind.

Everything was as advertised. The location is excellent, the rooms are great, and all the facilities are fantastic.

The view from the back of the hotel faces an alley and a rubbish area, which is disappointing. It would have been better to have a nicer view. The front desk staff were unfriendly and seemed cold. She made the mistake to check me in for only one room when I actually booked two. When I explained to her and asked her to check again, she "seemed" friendlier afterward. However, I believe the front desk staff should be more welcoming overall. Additionally, the hotel did not release our room deposit after checkout. I waited almost a week and ended up messaging through Booking.com. They admitted their error and apologized, and the deposit was released shortly after that. Just a tip: please check your deposit after checkout.

Bar service was terrible. So that was very disappointing. Waited over 25 mins each time ordered a drink. Unable to go to the bar and order yourself as its table service but then had to go the bar and find staff to order anyway as no one came to check on us at all. Apparently they were busy so that was the delay (it wasn't) and even if it was, it was a bank holiday weekend and they only had 1 bar tender making drinks. Very strange. Even more annoying- charged 12.5% service charge for this "table service" but like I said, had to go up yourself and wait a very long time for a drink.

Room was very clean and tidy. There were two straight back chairs but no easy chair. The Guest relations team returned something left in the room promptly when I sent a Royal Mail bar code .

Room had a strange set up in which shower and toilet were separated from sleeping area by a sliding wooden panel which when open did not shield the person sitting on the toilet behind frosted glass from view. Not a problem for long married couple but this had not been stated in the description or photos. Not really a good recipe for a romantic weekend. The view was of a ruin surrounded by scaffolding with no aspect over Richmond Hill. Outside the car park was not clean - dog mess, also an overflowing bin was right next to the walking entrance.

The bed was possibly the comfiest hotel bed I've ever stayed in! I stayed for two nights and even with the poor weather I didn't mind staying in the room longer than I'd intended. The staff were great in agreeing a slightly later check out at midday too, which was very helpful with my travel plans. Breakfast wasn't included in my room rate but I could request breakfast in my room for a cost - except there were no pens in the room so that was a bit tricky. I didn't end up requesting breakfast but it was a nice touch. There is a lovely little pub called the Roebuck a minute away that does affordable and lovely breakfast so I would highly recommend that as an alternative. Similarly if the hotel's food is not to your tastes, the Roebuck or The Ship Inn further down in town are great places to eat if you're a solo female traveller.

The room's temperature control was centrally controlled so I couldn't adjust to make it cooler, which meant I had to open the window and there were very noisy construction works happening my entire stay. Not great ambience! My room overlooked a sad looking car park with a skip, so again not great ambience but I suspect the more you pay for your room the further you get to a better view. The room rate is not cheap though so if you get a regular room expecting views you may be disappointed.

Love this hotel, the rooms in the old part of the building and much nicer, the beds are comfy and the bathrooms are always a good size. I stay here because it’s close to friends in the area and easy to walk into Richmond town centre. The bar has great cocktails, and it’s lovely to sit outside on a warm sunny day. I also thoroughly enjoy their breakfasts.

If there’s a match on a Twickenham, they charge a lot of money for 1 night. I paid more than £300 for an overnight stay on a Saturday which is so expensive.

The layout of the very small room was very odd. The bathroom is exposed in the room until the wardrobe is pulled out to make a dividing wall, which then means your clothes are in the bathroom. The bathroom door is frosted glass. The A/C wasn't very effective. Room ok for 1 night, but Wouldn't stay in this room type again.

Wonderful location and magnificent views from Richmond hill, staff and management were very efficient and friendly. Room was quiet and comfortable. Restaurant evening meal was superb and an excellent buffet breakfast.

Minor observations like a room service tray of half eaten food had been left in the corridor by a guest and hadn't been removed for most of the day. Perhaps there should be more water fountains available like one on each floor, to fill up the complementary water bottles.

We love this hotel - it is our favorite place for a stop on the way to or from Heathrow airport. But it is much more than a stop over - the location is incredible, Richmond is a real gem and this hotel is perfectly located. You could easily make this your base to explore west London. The staff are very friendly and helpful and will work hard to accommodate your needs. The Georgian rooms are fantastic: they are a good size, they have a beautiful bathroom, a bathtub, and a comfortable bed. The restaurant is also really good.

The Hill collection rooms quite honestly do not match the standard of the rest of the hotel and offer a different experience altogether. However, they offer a more affordable alternative and may be a good short-term option to still benefit from the location and other wonderful things about this hotel.
