Large comfortable room with well thought out seating area. The balcony was secluded which meant I was happy to sit and watch the world go by in my dressing gown. Quiet too - was largely unaware of other guests whilst in our room. Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe, iron with a very long cable (I wish mine was a long at home). Large restaurant with a good choice of food. It was a pity we were only there for one day, so didn't get chance to try much. Free parking! This clinched it for me, although it would have helped to know about the underground car park before we arrived. The view - it was so unexpected to be in such a handy spot for London and yet be looking out at the river and trees in all directions. Air conditioning - it was such a hot day and the room was deliciously cool.

The shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor almost immediately - I had to sacrifice a bathmat entirely to the job of soaking up the stream of water. The minibar/fridge was hidden in a cupboard without a handle, which I could not open. In fact, I started to doubt there was a fridge! Luckily a member of staff pried it open with a spoon, but it would have been much nicer if I could have accessed it sooner.

The location was great. The hotel was lovely and clean and had a really nice conservatory area and outside seating area. On our first night they were very short staffed but Alfie was exceptional and made our stay great as he was so helpful despite being rushed off his feet. Without Alfie things would have been a lot less satisfactory.

The first night was so short staffed that the wait for food was much too long but this improved on the second night. The older man on duty for our stay, who may be the manager, was not good at customer service and was very unfriendly and not at all courteous to his customers. He needs to take notes from Alfie who was the opposite.

The rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable, with a large walk-in shower. Honestly bar in the room, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion were all provided. We stayed on an exceptionally busy weekend so the hotel was heaving with England rugby fans us included but the service was excellent and the staff were great. We ate in the restaurant for dinner but because of how busy they’d been a lot of options on the menu weren’t available which was a little disappointing but understandable. We received a 20% discount on our food because of the limited menu which was appreciated. The food was delicious. The atmosphere in the hotel was buzzing. The location of the hotel is 1.4 mile from Twickenham stadium so not really suitable for people with mobility issues.

An excellent hotel. Comfortable rooms, the biggest and best bed I've ever slept in Attentive and friendly staff, the breakfasts were superb and the one dinner we had was excellent value for money. Very good location and we wouldn't hesitate to stop here agaib

There wasn't anything we didn't like but the only issue that prevents me from giving the room a 10 rating was the absence of a set of drawers for storing small items of clothing etc. Other than that it was perfect

Really enjoyed my stay here. Warm and comfortable feel overall, room was spacious with design ascetic throughout. Nice to have a fully stocked fridge, tea and coffee selection and snacks. A fab touch. Bathroom was well appointed with a fab ceiling shower and great products to use. Pub downstairs was really nice too with great selection of drinks and food. Dined here for breakfast and dinner and each was spot on. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Couldn't ask for more!

Id have to be very picky to find negatives. Personally i don't like a sky box shut away in a cupboard as it felt very hot. Didn't seem to have ventilation. Also i found myself looking for stairs once and took what i think was the fire escape staircase which was pretty grotty and not immaculate like the rest of the building so wouldn't do any harm to give that a paint. Constructive criticisms i would call these.

I booked this hotel due to its proximity to Twickenham stadium. Lovely view onto the Thames and was a nice walk in the morning before the game. This is a lovely, comfortable hotel with staff who were friendly and helpful throughout. The standard of food was very good and the choice of breakfast was excellent. Ideal for a one or two day stay if you’re looking for a base to go to the rugby. Great snack and drink facilities in the room too.

It was a rugby weekend so parking was tricky at the venue. Perhaps operate a reserve parking option ?

This amusingly-named hotel is located on the actual site of the garden of the villa of the real Alexander Pope (1688-1744). This is a lovely location with a view of the Thames and proximity to Radnor Gardens and Strawberry Hill, and within a pleasant walk of many other historical local attractions. The room was comfortable and reasonably well appointed, with an excellent bed and an updated bathroom - though the faucets are a bit high tech. Don't expect traditional front desk service; you should seek out the manager somewhere in the restaurant and he will look after your check in and check out needs. The Pope theme is relatively tasteful and well done by transatlantic standards.

The design in the modern bathroom could have been better done - no way to regulate the flow of water that we could see. Also, don't expect traditional front desk service; once you seek out the manager, he will look after you quite pleasantly, but you need to allow time for that.

The room was a really good size, very generous for a double room and had a really classy feel to it. We had a view of the Thames from our room, but there was very little noise despite the fact we were facing out onto the road. The bathroom was very modern, clearly been though out and had investment into subtleties as a heated mirror and smart taps. There were even full size amenities such as conditioner and handcream. The staff were friendly and happy to help at all hours! The honesty bar was a lovely touch with great options, but priced quite high - though this is to be expected for convenience!

The only improvement would be better lighting for the mirror in the bedroom. There wasn't a lot of natural light so it was hard to get ready there, however, the lighting in the bathroom was a bit better - no steamy mirrors being a winner here!

The location is perfect for us. Easy transport into inner London with Twickenham station a level and short walk away, giving access to Waterloo. Immediate surroundings are splendid, riverside walks, open space opposite hotel, and some excellent shops and cafes within walking distance. The room (with balcony) was comfortable and well equipped, with a great bathroom and a bath!!! Furnishings of good quality, room felt individual rather than 'one of many'. Some light wear and tear but to be expected in any hotel.

Although it did not affect our stay there was an unresolved issue with the TV, we reported it the morning after arrival and were assured it would be rectified, but it never was. At pains to point out this was a VERY minor issue for us.

Our room was clean, tastefully decorated and spacious with a variety of snacks and drinks available that we could purchase from the honesty bar. Our breakfast was delicious! There was a good choice from the breakfast bar and a lovely range of cooked breakfast to choose from. The bar area was large, and had a good ambiance. There was also an attractive and spacious outdoor area (we didn’t have time to use this). The location was ideal for us too and our room overlooked a park (Radnor Gardens) and the River Thames. A plus for us was that there was parking available at the hotel too.

It wasn’t a major thing for us, but because the hotel is quite an old building, I could hear people walking about in the rooms above during the middle of the night.
