Hotel a little dated but to be honest, myself & partner had comfy beds, clean bedding, comfy pillows, quiet room (102). Plenty car park spaces to park. We used Disabled Space right next to hotel & car was very safe. We were half board. Breakfast was good & plentyful (hot & cold). Evening meals were either a Special Menu or you could choose from Regular Menu. Things on menu werent really normally to our taste, but we tried a few different selections & have to say the food was beautifully cooked & hot. 3 course meal & all very good 🙂. We visited Newcastle & surrounding areas over our stay (2 nights), what a beautiful City & plenty to do. Not that far to travel from Hotel really. What more can you ask for 😃. To top it off Resturant Staff were all very attentive, as well as Duty Managers who also muck in & work hard. One Duty Manager (cant remember his name 🥴) in particular, who we met on arrival, even came to see us in Resturant, the evening before our departure, to ask how our stay was & where we managed to visit etc 🙂😊, & gave us lots of attractions in the surrounding areas to visit (we were thinking of staying another night, but moved onto Northumberland & other areas next day). We managed to see a few of the attractions he suggested, tyvm 😊😄. Regrettably the weather changed abit so we didnt manage Cragside, but we will be coming back to stay again sometime over the next few months & venture more 😉. See you again... thank you very much!!

Not really anything to be honest.

Room was modern and fresh with shower room newly renovated. Room was very small but functional

Large coach tours use the hotel with Chinese tourists. They arrive all together for breakfast and clear the place with nothing left for anyone else. Team are not great at replenishing items to breakfast was very poor if you got your timing wrong. Lots of dogs in the hotel, never seen a hotel with some many dogs walking around. Hope they have special rooms for pets as it could impact someone with allergies given the amount of dogs staying.

Convenient location, friendly staff, useful to be able to eat in the restaurant in the evening

Being asked to pay for every course and every drink there and then at dinner instead of being able to pay for it all together at the end. Never had that before at a restaurant. They knew our room number, the room was secured with a credit card, we could have even charged the food to the room if we wanted to. So bringing the card machine to our table multiple times during dinner just seemed a bit odd. At breakfast we were told off by a staff member for going around the breakfast buffet in the wrong direction. There was no sign to say you had to go round in a certain direction, there was barely anyone else at the buffet so we weren't disrupting the flow. So again, it just seemed a bit odd!

The room was big, I asked for a king size bed, and clean. Well appointed. Tea and coffee in room. Quiet location of rooms away from the kitchen and event room. Friendly staff in reception and restaurant.

I personally found the evening meal not to my liking. I chose the Korean style tapas, 2 for £25, expensive for what it was. It had little taste and lots of calories. But my husband enjoyed it. And my brother had the set priced 3 course Jan special which he thought was good value. Wine expensive at £9.95 for a large glass of white.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great to have air-conditioning in the room. The quality of the food was excellent.

The price of the breakfasts was a bit high especially if you don't have a large appetite, some cheaper alternatives & more choice like breakfast rolls would have been good. It was an overnight stay then travel on to Scotland, some travellers just want a quick, small breakfast & to be on their way. If you have a large appetite a full breakfast would have been good value.

easy access drive from A1, value for money, all staff were friendly and helpful. We trusted HolidayInn breakfast quality, but dining option was marvelous. We chose half board, dinner credit? no. They offer 3 course meal .... but we couldn't reach dessert.... we were so full. not posh restaurant service like a little food on a plate, but they serve good presentation, well balanced nutrition and volume! another impressed service was complementary in room refreshments. tea coffee biscuits on top of that glass bottled still water sparkling water, tin of pepsi, warkers crisps and kitkat! Holiday Inn you are so generous!

If only our room's floor were cleaned properly, our stay was perfect.

This hotel has a warm, friendly atmosphere, with truly wonderful staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I loved the little reminders to smile scattered throughout—it adds a charming touch to the experience. The rooms are dated and a bit shabby but for the price you can’t complain. I did see a dog in reception so I’m guessing they may allow dogs in this hotel too although I can’t be certain I am just assuming. The breakfast was fab!!! Very delicious and again the staff are very friendly, exactly what you would expect from a hotel in the North East.

Cooked breakfast was lovely first day, last day I got talking and got the dog ends of the buffet as they were clearing up. So breakfast finishes 9:am not 9:20 unless you like hard boiled poached eggs, leathery tomatoes and brittle black pudding. My mistake.

Telly is a nice size and display but ancient. No Freeview. Not a single power socket in the room with integrated USB sockets. These units cost about £15 to replace and a monkey could do it!

Attended for great north run also a wedding on that evening but in a separate room and dint nterefer with other guests, service was still excellent. Hotels decor a little tied but dont this put you off, bathrooms recently renewed and beds really comfy. Surprisingly food in the bar and grill was really good well above what I expected very tasty, guest had £22 meal deal and I has the £23 tapas option, ample portion sizes and very good quality. Really great. Breakfast was excellent, and put on fruit and water for runners in reception, nice touch.

Nothing all good

The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, especially the lady with long, blonde hair (sorry, didn't catch her name). The room was clean and comfortable and the shower had great pressure. Free, fast WiFi. Lots of free parking. Supermarket (Asda) close by at The Galeries shopping centre.

Pillows were a little hard, but we did see that there was the option to request softer ones...we were just too tired to request them, as we arrived very late after attending a concert. A suggestion would be to have a soft and harder pillow on each bed. The metal tissue holder in the bathroom was rusty....could do with being changed.
