I have now stayed at this hotel four times in different rooms so this review is for all stays. 1. Free parking, very unusual in Gloucester, bonus point for that. 2. Very clean rooms and hallways. 3. Microwave and fridge in every room, if like me you're on a strict diet this makes life Much easier. 4. There is also a seperate kitchen you can use if you feel the need. 5. Lots of nice little touches in the room, tea, coffee kettle, biscuits, dishcloth and a small dish-soap dispenser. 6. The folk who own the place are very friendly and made me feel welcome and at home every time I visited.

We received a very friendly welcome and were provided with a wealth of useful information. Our room was scrupulously clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and gave an excellent night's sleep. We elected to have a light breakfast which offered a wide choice of cereals, together with fruit juice, toast and coffee. The location of the hotel is most convenient, situated on a road with a frequent bus service, while. It is only a modest walk into the City centre.

While it presented us with no difficulty, access to bedrooms and the dining room does involve negotiation of several sets of stairs.

The Edward is a very comfortable well priced accomodation close to the railway station. The rooms were very large and comfortable, with fresh towels daily if you wanted. The breakfast was well priced and a full English if you wanted it. Our hosts were very accommodating and allowed us to store luggage prior to check-in. We had a lovely dinner one night at the nearby India Zones which had delicious authentic Indian. The bus has several services that run frequently right past the door.

Nothing really, the shower was lovely and hot but the pressure was a bit minimal, overall we had a great stay

We were were visiting family who lived close by so it was very handy location. Not far from Docks which was handy for a brunch catch up. Included parking at rear of property which was a little tight to get into but we did have a large car. Interesting old building and really enjoyed all of the Gloucester photos displayed around the place. Was surprised to see a microwave and small fridge in room which is a bonus if you need to use. Amazingly comfortable large bed and very clean everything

I was a little taken aback with the reception I received from the landlord as we were on the end of a six week holiday and had up to now received very warm greetings upon arrival. Maybe he had just had a tough day

Lovely car park and outside sitting garden the owner was lovely and welcoming giving us a map and showing us how.to get to the.quays.for. dinner it was very clean and had lots of photos of Gloucester. Our room was lovely and had kettle and microwave in it. Tea and coffee biscuits and milk .a brilliant big fan to cool the room and lovely shower .I loved how.he left a box.with extra milk and biscuits towels outside.your door to respect your.privacy. and help the environment by only using.what we.needed I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent in-room facilities, clean, free parking a definite bonus. Walking distance to city centre which was great for us. Good breakfast, and it's nice to have the choice of paying for a full English or have a lighter option for less. Host was professional, checking in and out was very easy. Shops, garages, a pub and takeaways all within a few minutes walk.

En-suites in both rooms were very small and shower difficult to use - temperature varied from burning hot to ice cold. The surrounding area is not great, very run down on the walk into the city centre with lots of closed shops and homelessness. Our teenagers felt uneasy and a little scared.

We loved our stay at the Edward Hotel. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness of the the room and bathroom. The room was large yet cosy and the beds very comfortable. Our hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and local sights. Highly recommended.

We would have loved a toaster in the room but there was a kitchenette for all guests to use which was great. I think the top floor may not be ideal for everyone as there are a lot of stairs. While this was fine for my family, perhaps it may be nice to know beforehand.

I love the quirky nature of this hotel, with all the pictures of famous 'Edwards' and each room named after an Edward. The staff were really friendly and down-to-earth. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you needed. The breakfast was good and location very convenient for central Gloucester.

Nothing from my perspective. If you are not good with stairs, then I advise you contact the hotel to request a room on the ground floor as my room had quite a few steps to go up and down.

It’s an old building with character in a very convenient location with everything walking distance. The owner is very welcoming it’s like a home from home. We have a 2 month old baby & they were very happy to accommodate for this we had a cot (very comfortable our little boy slept amazing) provided for us & a microwave in the room so it was easy for us to sterilise his bottles etc. The hotel is located near all local public transport links as well as the town centre, breakfast in the mornings is wonderful just the right amount. You have your own key to the main door which you can’t access unless you have a key so it’s very secure. We can’t fault this hotel & will definitely be staying again on our next visit.

The property is lovely I have no complaints

This hotel is highly recommended for people visiting Gloucester or the region or a night’s stopover. Location is close to the centre and docks, leisurely 20 minute stroll. Parking is good at the hotel, and free, cctv cover, with easy access from the car park into the hotel. Room was clean fresh well-maintained, good size bathroom with lots of shelf space, and the room included bonus of a microwave and a fridge, plates and cutlery available from the hosts. Breakfast was excellent, fresh tasty options, including full English cooked on request fresh and hot, toast and preserves, juices, tea coffee fresh milk. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and host are very knowledgeable of the city and region and events. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, and plan to return to this hotel for future events. Many guests were ‘returnees’ such is the excellent hospitality found here. Excellent value.
