We received a very friendly welcome and were provided with a wealth of useful information. Our room was scrupulously clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and gave an excellent night's sleep. We elected to have a light breakfast which offered a wide choice of cereals, together with fruit juice, toast and coffee. The location of the hotel is most convenient, situated on a road with a frequent bus service, while. It is only a modest walk into the City centre.

While it presented us with no difficulty, access to bedrooms and the dining room does involve negotiation of several sets of stairs.

It’s an old building with character in a very convenient location with everything walking distance. The owner is very welcoming it’s like a home from home. We have a 2 month old baby & they were very happy to accommodate for this we had a cot (very comfortable our little boy slept amazing) provided for us & a microwave in the room so it was easy for us to sterilise his bottles etc. The hotel is located near all local public transport links as well as the town centre, breakfast in the mornings is wonderful just the right amount. You have your own key to the main door which you can’t access unless you have a key so it’s very secure. We can’t fault this hotel & will definitely be staying again on our next visit.

The property is lovely I have no complaints

This hotel is highly recommended for people visiting Gloucester or the region or a night’s stopover. Location is close to the centre and docks, leisurely 20 minute stroll. Parking is good at the hotel, and free, cctv cover, with easy access from the car park into the hotel. Room was clean fresh well-maintained, good size bathroom with lots of shelf space, and the room included bonus of a microwave and a fridge, plates and cutlery available from the hosts. Breakfast was excellent, fresh tasty options, including full English cooked on request fresh and hot, toast and preserves, juices, tea coffee fresh milk. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and host are very knowledgeable of the city and region and events. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, and plan to return to this hotel for future events. Many guests were ‘returnees’ such is the excellent hospitality found here. Excellent value.

The room was clean and I had a very comfortable bed. I was particularly pleased that the bed linen wasn't perfumed with strong smelling fabric conditioner etc. as it affects my asthma. My single room had a good quality Smart TV and I was delighted to find that the room also contained a small fridge and microwave oven, so great for someone who is staying for a few nights. The hotel allows you to use its plates and cutlery, if you want to use the microwave. I enjoyed my stay and will return.

There is no lift, so a bit of a hike with suitcases up the stairs. But I was helped with my case by a member of staff. Gloucester's gulls are a bit noisy at night!

Excellent staff. Beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast good quality food. Lovely sitting room with comfy settees. Free parking that felt safe. Room was warm and cosy. Quiet in room no 8. Nice carpets and interesting photos on the walls in communal areas. Greeted on arrival by owner who explained everything and gave good info on eating places in the city.

The fan in the shower room stayed on for a long time and created a draught under the door. No heating in shower room so quite cold while drying yourself.

Was in deluxe double room and found it to be excellent. Bed was very comfortable, the room large (but not overly) and well furnished. All rooms appear to have microwave and fridge. Room had a large bathroom with a wonderful bath. Plenty of hot water as well. A little traffic noise (as main road was outside) but didn't effect my sleep. Breakfast was excellent. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room wasn't serviced every day but a basket was left at the door for if you need any fresh towels, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, etc. Guest lounge as well as outside garden area to sit in. Has a bar but if they don't have what you want the pub is a few doors down the road. Well located about 15 minutes walk direct down the road to the centre of town. Tesco's about 5 minutes down the road as well. Great for a nights stay or long term. Excellent value for money. Second best hotel I have ever stayed at. Only piped at the post as the best was in Scotland with fantastic views. Only complaint would be I didn't find it earlier in my trip so I could use it as a base to explore from.

Myself & my Filipino wife were warmly welcomed by the hotelier, Sinjin. He was extremely helpful & knowledgeable about Gloucester: sights, restaurants, etc. We had a Superior King double room which had a microwave, fridge & large tv. Our room was extremely comfortable & we felt very at home :) The hotel's walls were literally filled with history & pictures of Gloucester's events. Very interesting 👌🏻 HIGHLY recommend this hotel 😍

We couldn't find anything negative about The Edward Hotel 😁

The staff were friendly on check-in and the room had everything I needed for a short visit. There were also plenty of things to make your life a bit easier. Not only did it have a microwave, fridge and kettle, but there was a small kitchen nearby that could also be used. It's located a 10 minute walk from the train station and about 15-20 minutes from the cathedral and docks area. The area around the hotel itself isn't particularly glamorous, but I didn't have any issues. For the price I paid, I can't really complain.

The bed was quite small and the decor is definitely dated. The hotel is also a bit of a maze, with lots of staircases, which wasn't an issue for me, but could be for anyone with accessibility requirements.

We had everything we needed for our short Gloucester city break. Breakfast was a simple choice between Cereal and Toast or a cooked breakfast, which we could choose on the day. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and a pack of clean towels and tea making products was left at the door each day. We thought this was a good idea. Charging our Electric Vehicle was simple and straightforward, this was one of the things we wanted when we booked.

There was nothing we didn't like.

A well-situated, very reasonably-pricedhotel with excellent parking (a rarity in Gloucester City Centre!). Good sized, spotlessly clean, comfortable room with excellent supportive beds. Our room at the back of the hotel was very quiet and peaceful with a good shower and toilet. Coffee and tea facilities were provided and generous. The hotel operates in an eco-friendly way regarding room management and we liked this. The hoteliers were friendly and very informative about Gloucester regarding local sights and good restaurants as was the useful picture gallery in the hotel. Provision of a microwave and small fridge was appreciated as were the modern plug sockets for charging phones and laptops. Thank you
