The hotel needs a refurbishment outside the rooms. Blackout or darker curtains would be ideal in the rooms. The shower/ bathroom facilities were excellent. Design everything to this standard. Fill up the vending machine on reception. An empty vending machine makes the place look like it is not busy/ neglected.

Chose not to have this

The bed was hard however this was more to do with the plywood board that had been attached to the bed frame. It would have been better to replace the bed. When I went for my shower the water didn`t come through. When I spoke to reception I was told "We had work done on the boiler yesterday so it was probably that" As it happens I wasn`t overly bothered but annoying none the less.

Spacious room and very comfy bed. Great shower.

Could do with a light by the wardrobe and another chair. Disappointing that the bar and food shack were closed, despite no mention of this on the website.

Property is going through some changes, however it was in good shape and once all renovations complete I think this will be a great hotel all round. Our twin room was clean, and had some basics like a kettle with coffee and tea, a fan, hairdryer, tv, all the basics, towels provided. We came here for a one night stay to visit friends and honestly the hotel was perfect for this, not stupidly priced and had everything we needed. There’s no food currently being served at the hotel as the restaurant is going through a renovation too but there is a bar and a nice garden. We would definitely stay here again.

Second room key was provided to help with keeping the room warm. Temperatures reached -7 on an evening. How friendly all the staff were made it easier to be away from home.

Needed a cheap overnight stay in the area so booked here for a little over £40 and it exceeded all expectations, don't get me wrong when I first showed up I thought the outside looked run down so me and my partner had the mindset of we only need it for one night so we'll just have to put up with it regardless of how the inside looked, however the actual rooms are incredible! The room was spotless, bed was incredibly comfortable where both me and my partner had a great night's sleep, they had tea and coffee with a couple of biscuits which is always a nice touch and omg the shower was gorgeous. The man at reception was friendly and although it was only a small interaction whilst checking in he still came across as very welcoming. I think this place was a prefect example of don't judge a book by its cover, as both me and my partner will definitely be returning when we come back to the area! 5/5 stars.

As mentioned above the outside is definitely a bit run down looking, it also took me a little bit to realise where the receptionist was as the sign wasn't the clearest. However other than that there are no real complaints as realistically I didn't book a hotel to stand outside of it, the inside was great and for the price it was I really can't complain. 100% would stay again :)

The staff were friendly and helpful when answering questions. The room was nice and clean with lots of space. The location was good, a short walk to the local shop and a short drive from the local retail parks. There is a bar on site which is easy to get to without leaving the building, The staff there were friendly, the environment was trendy and the drinks were a good price.

The room got extremely hot during the night but the temperature controls we had seemed to only be able to raise the temperature not turn it down, however a fan is provided so we used that with the window open during the night.

We stayed one night en route to the West Country, as the hotel was close to the M5. Given what we had paid for the room, we were pleasantly surprised to find the room and en suite had been refurbished to a very good standard. Although the hotel didn't do food, there was a snack van in the adjoining pub garden, doing a good choice of pizzas, burgers etc. We will definitely stay there again if we're down that way again.

There was a drain smell in the en suite when we arrived, but seemed to disappear after the shower had been run.
