The staff were very welcoming to me and my cat. The hotel was historic yet newly renovated (at least my room was as it still smelt of paint lol). Facilities were good in the room and I loved the huge bath, the young man who helped me with my bags obligingly fetched me some lovely bath bombs. Luxurious bath in the morning. The hotel was conveniently located next door to Bills so I was able to have an evening meal without going outside. The reception staff and other staff were very helpful and friendly. I will be returning.

I wasn’t able to stream any TV service so resorted to using my phone. No Wifi either but I understand that the engineers were due to address this issue in the near future. Although it is convenient to be centrally located in a city, the downside is that room was situated next to a cut through alleyway, which was a tad noisy at closing time. However, no notice after 11.30pm.

Staff, room and location were great. Bathroom was spacious. Towels were thick and fluffy. Toiletries smelled great! Loo paper was thick and good quality.....always a good way to tell that the owners care about quality for guests! The beverage facilties in the room were very good and delicious biscuits! I loved the view from my suite onto the courtyard outside. A beautiful very old example of English livery architecture. The interior was also a delight with it's very old open staicase and galleried landing all in dark oak.

There was no information about breakfast at all, not even at reception when I checked in so I expected at least a small breakfast to have been included in the price but there was none. Only when I was leaving did I see that there was a room where people were eating - it looked like it was a pub part of the property that did lunches and dinners, separate to the hotel. Info in advance at booking stage would have been helpful. So I left without breakfast and got a sandwich at the train station. I was also disappointed by the duvet. The quality did not match the quality of everything else in the room. It was thin on the huge bed and so I used the blanket and my coat over the top.

Great location, right in the town centre. Beautiful old historic building. Room temperature was great. No traffic or street noise. Didn’t hear any other guests. Tea/coffee and complimentary water bottles were good. Kettle was immaculate. Luxurious bathroom with separate shower and tub. Extremely comfortable bed with crisp linen. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I couldn’t fault the place and will definitely choose to stay here again next time I am in Guildford. A fab find. I wished we were staying longer than one night. Note: we were upgraded on arrival to a luxury suite and stayed in the William Pitt room which is more spacious than the deluxe doubles. It was absolutely wonderful!!

There is nothing not to like! I suppose on site parking would have been helpful but it is an historic building right in the town centre so options are limited… there is a car park not too far away though.

I loved this place - incredible building in the heart of Guildford. IF you are the kind of person who likes heavy curtains and spacious rooms, this is for you. Felt really comfortable with the added bonus of being in this amazing old space. The Wifi was good, the room warm, I had a good night's sleep.

The only thing was that there was a thrumming noise outside the window (I think) - possibly heating? I went to see if it was my bathroom fan, but it wasn't, and in the end I just fell asleep through it. But it was dull rumble throughout the night, don't know if anything can be done about that. Oh, and in spite of there being a bath in the bathroom there wasn't a plug, so no bath possible... the shower worked very well, however, and was hot at all hours. The bathroom itself was lovely - loads of space, as in the room.

The room was gorgeous and comfortable, it got a bit cold in the evening but extra heating was provided which worked very well, the room was very clean and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I would defo stay again

The shower and bath water would only run hot for about 5 minutes then it would run cold, so was unable to shower or have a bath whilst there, I tried at about 11 at night then around 8am the following morning and it was the same. We raised it with the staff and they profusely apologised but said there was nothing they could do. No problem at all though as we only stayed for one night and it’s an old building so it’s to be expected :)

A comfortable medieval stay right in the centre of Guildford. A short walk from the train station and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful, even taking my bags to my room up a series of staircases. The Junior Suite was roomy with multiple seating areas, a double bathroom, and a nice coffee/tea set up. I did not eat in the restaurant downstairs, but every time I passed by from morning to evening, it was full and lively.

The Junior Suite was more room than I needed and the rate was more than I intended to spend but it was the best option available to be right on the high street. Both available wifi networks were impossible to connect to and when connected, did not have internet. The front desk said they would look into it.

Lovely room, with a separate lounge area right on the high street. The room was warm (bonus, as we had a storm), and the location was excellent. Plenty of room. Plenty of electric sockets. Water and tea and coffee. Excellent price. Very quaint . Would stay again .

Bit "battered" in the rooms...damp on wallpaper, weird noises from pipes, paintworkneeds touching up..asked for a good place for breakfast (apart from Bills) and got told to go to Joe the Juice..which ISNT a breakfast place. Found our own place. Staff often absent but a telephone number available. No lift. No bar.

The room was spacious and well appointed, with attractive furnishings, plenty of storage space, a good selection of tea and coffee, comfortable seating and a decent bathroom. The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs - a short walk from both the station and G Live. Despite being right in the centre of town it was remarkably quiet.

We found the mattress a little bit uncomfortable and the duvet wasn't quite big enough for the size of the bed, but other than that all good.

Beautiful room, recently renovated. Private and quiet given there’s a lot going on around it - that did mean it was a bit of a walk through the maze of the property to the top - all narrow stairs so something to be aware of if that’s something you struggle with. The room itself was fantastic, the bed was lovely and the living room gave a nice area to just relax in, lots of period artwork around the spaces. Centrally located right on the high street made exploring really easy.

No fan or AC, being at the top of the properly it did get rather warm. No fridge to keep drinks in in the hot weather, given there isn’t an associated cafe or restaurant (there is a separate Bill’s restaurant on the property but they are run independently), it would be nice to have somewhere to store a few drinks.
